The Oaks Waterfront

The Oaks Waterfront Hotel is an excellent place to stay. Beautiful, quaint, and tranquil. Perfect location for a relaxing time by or on the water. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. Amenities very nice. Service was excellent. Linda, Monica and Joe were very helpful. Linda and Monica made dinner reservations for us. We enjoyed a casual and fun dinner at the Crab Claw restaurant on the bay and a delicious dinner at the Ruse in St. Michaels. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. So delightful to eat out on the enclosed porch. We appreciated the free use of bikes, paddle boards and kayaks.

Exceptional waterfront property offering beautifully, thoughtfully designed public and guest accommodations. The staff is very welcoming and strived to make our stay relaxing and memorable. This is our new favorite destination in the St. Michael’s area. We look forward to visiting again!

For our 20th wedding anniversary, I planned a surprise getaway to St. Michaels. After researching hotels in the area, I selected The Oaks based on the setting, reviews and value. The Inn is located in Royal Oaks, which is a short distance from St. Michaels. We were presently surprised by the beautiful spacious setting. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Guests have access to bikes and helmets, canoes and even to small fridge filled with water, wine and beer, all complimentary. We booked a king size room which was very spacious and on the back corner of the building. We had our own private balcony and view of the river was amazing and peaceful. The bathroom was large and had a Jacuzzi tub, although I felt the vanity could have been larger for the size of the room. The room was clean and cozy. The decks and balconies facing the back of the property could use a good power washing. Other than that, everything was perfect! There is a one time breakfast setting and guests are given about three menu choices made to order and served to your table, which was a nice feature. I would definitely stay at The Oaks again in the future.

We stayed at the The Oaks recently for a weekend wedding. It served as a great location for the wedding. All of the wedding events including the rehearsal dinner took place at the inn. The inn and grounds are very picturesque. The room was adequate. Since this is an older inn, some things are a bit worn but that is to be expected. One example – one of the bureau drawers had no bottom (see picture). In general, décor and things like linens were ok but nothing special, and bathroom was a bit dated. The grounds were very nice. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain during the weekend so we did not get to take advantage of the amenities such as the bikes and pool. Also since this is a smaller inn, service is a bit limited. For example, we couldn’t get in touch with anyone for extra towels one morning, and food service late at night was tough due to the small size of the inn, and the nature of smaller towns in the area. The area is very nice. We went into St. Michaels a couple of miles down the road and enjoyed the main street with nice little shops and a few places to eat. There was also a museum, but we didn’t have time to check that out. The food at the inn was quite good. The hot breakfast buffet was nice and the food at the wedding itself was good as well. Overall, it was a nice trip and a wonderful wedding.

Staying at the Oaks Waterfront Hotel was a delight. The hotel has gone thru a complete remodel and is clean, calming with soft blue and gray decor and well appointed rooms. The staff treats you like family (the good kind) and attends to your every need. The breakfasts were delicious - eggs benedict or eggs cooked to your wishes. For dinner we had LOTS of oysters - raw & baked along with perfectly prepared halibut; finished off with warm choc chip cookies and ice cream. The Oak Room has a full stocked bar with some well crafted cocktails. The grounds are beautiful - garden still blooming in October plus kayaks, canoes and gearless bikes that were so fun in an old school way. Would love to stay here in the future. Thank you!

Our first time here and will certainly visit again. Wonderful stay in the Waterfront suite. Fabulous deck that overlooks the water. You can see why they have so many weekend weddings in the beautiful maintained landscaping. Loved that we could just grab a kayak and head out on the water at will. Also had very good included breakfasts on the patio and a great dinner experience. Only slight downside is not having a very long walking path area as the nearby street does not have sidewalks. They do have bikes you can use at will.
