Hotel berhampiran Heumahdgupf, Ebensee

I booked an apartment for five people (this apartment can fit up to 12 people) for 2 nights. I then received an email that the number of guests is one. That was weird because the minimum number of guests for the apartment is five as you can see in the attached photo. Upon arrival after hours at around 6 PM, there was no one at the check-in desk. Our key was placed at the check-in desk and our last name was written next to the room number. That room had two twin beds stuck to each other. It was tiny and very different than the apartment that I booked online using ***********. I tried calling the number that they had and when I did I heard a vibration of a cell phone at the check-in desk. I tried contacting *********** and they recommended I speak to the property directly and when I stated that I couldn't get a hold of them they asked me to email *********** and that they would get a response to me in 24 hours. Eventually they did respond saying that the property has been contacted but they did not hear anything back from them, so basically *********** was useless. In the meantime, I had to go next-door to ask for help. The lady next-door called one of the housekeeping ladies who then came down and tried helping us. She then called the man who came and gave us the apartment. That man did not even smile or apologize to us. The apartment was decent, and spacious, however the beds were too soft. It had a nice terrace. There were two bathrooms in the apartments one was a good size and the other was tiny. There is no air conditioner, as many other hotels in Europe. There is no elevator the stairs leading up to the apartments are pretty steep. The breakfast was decent. Parking is offsite and there's about a five minute walk. The town is small but pretty. Overall the stay was pleasant, however the check in experience and the incorrect room and no one at the check-in desk was very unpleasant. At check out, there was another lady who seems to be more involved and had a smile on her face and apologized for the experience we had.

Nur durch absoluten Zufall und last last minute hier gelandet. Aber was für eine Überraschung! Spektakulär die Lage, freier Blick von knapp 1000m auf den Hallstätter See. Ringsum Natur und Ruhe. Da steht ein Haus wie aus dem Ei gepellt, beim Nähern verfällt man beinahe ins flüstern. Und drinnen? Glaubt man sich in einer Bibliothek wiederzufinden. Gemütliche Tische und Sitzecken laden zum verweilen, ein Kamin trägt im Winter bestimmt zur tollen A**osphäre bei, an der Wand und auf den Tischen und eigentlich überall im Hotel: Bücher, Bücher, Bücher.. Bücher die durchgeblättert, entdeckt, an- durch- und fertiggelesen werden möchten. 12 Tausend, so sagt die Chefin sind es im Moment und dank der Kooperation mit vielen Verlagen, werden es regelmäßig mehr. Schuhe werden beim Eingang ausgezogen, das stellt gleich mal das gewohnte Hotel Erlebnis auf den Kopf. Dadurch schleicht man allerdings auch angenehm leise durch die äußerst hübsch gestalteten Räume. Eine gemütliche self-service Bar mit ausgesuchten Weinen, lokalen Soft drinks bis hin zu französischen Champagner lässt keine Wünsche offen. Dazu modernste Technik - eine app öffnet die Türen, das gemütliche Bett, liest einem auf Wunsch sogar vor! Frühstück gibt es hier den ganzen Tag (!) und abends verhungert man auch nicht, man wird entweder im Hotel oder in einem nahen Gasthof fündig. Das ist ein so ein spezieller und entspannter Platz, man möchte einfach gar nicht mehr weg. Und ja, das Lesehotel hat auch einen Fernseher am Zimmer :)

Clean and new. We had a one-bedroom apartment. Very spacious. Kitchen was well-equipped. Heated bathroom. Underground garage. A very comfortable stay. Point to note is that this accommodation has no human being for check in, check out and if you need any help, there is no one. Check in is done through a phone app. You will need (roaming) data, otherwise you cannot open the door. And if you need to call their hotline for help, you will be using international calling (depending on where you come from). As long as you are comfortable with this kind of arrangement, this accommodation is 10/10. I will stay again. As with all apartments, there is no service and you will be expected to sort your rubbish and dispose them at the bin center. Bad Goisern itself has nothing. We used this accommodation as a base for the surrounding area. The apartment is within walking distance to an Italian restaurant and a supermarket.

We had a nice and comfortable 3-bedroom house. Plenty of space inside. Small kitchen with all the basic necessities for our 2-night stay. We had breakfast at the house and the resort restaurant for dinner. Limited vegetarian options, although that was the case everywhere in Obertraun and Hallstatt. Happy, helpful staff. The shop stocked quite a lot of foods which was sufficient for us. The setting is beautiful and the kids’ playground was fantastic for the kids while we waited for dinner. Swimming pool is small - more of a fun splash rather than any serious swimming. Decent gym. Also had a table football (although could do with some maintenance). Weather was very hot when we were there and the house did get very hot. Needed to leave windows open all night to be able to sleep. It’s very close to Obertraun Dachstein station - very convenient. Buses to Hallstatt are hourly. Limited taxi options in the area.

Um nicht in der Emution zu bewerten, habe ich mir bis dato Zeit gelassen um meine Eindrücke heute hier zu schreiben. Es war schon Ende Mai 2023, als ich mit meiner Familie, wir 4 samt unserem Baby, daß Restaurant des Landhaus zu Appesbach in St.Wolfgang am Wolgangsee besucht habe. Ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art, glauben sie mir es war wie im 7. Himmel. Im Landhaus zu Appesbach bist du nicht nur Gast, nein du bist Freund und fühlst dich einfach gesagt großartig und sehr willkommen. Das Personal und hier möchte ich die Herrn Thomas Peterseil und Christopher Pinegger ganz besonders hervorheben, ist in seiner Freundlichkeit und seiner Zuvorkommenheit etwas ganz besonderes, es gibt nur wenige Häuser in Österreich, die sich mit solch freundlichem Personal rühmen können. Die Speisen-und Weinepfehlungen der beiden Herren waren so perfekt, dass wir gleich zwei Flaschen, von dem uns empfohlenem, geleert haben. Die Speisen von Thomas Höfler und Lucas Mitter suchen ihres gleichen. Frisch, regional wunderbar zubereitet und sehr gelugen am Teller präsentiert, war die Gaumenfreude nicht mehr zu bremsen. Ich kann nur eines sagen, einmal Appesbach immer Appesbach. Ich wünsche der Geschäftsleitung, mögen sie diese 4 Herrn, die wir kennenlernen durften, niemals verlieren, sie sind einfach großartig und wunderbar. Hier ist der Gast Kaiser. A new fresh hotel. Great concept. Tasty food (dinner and breakfast). Great view over the lake from the room (6th floor - West side). Plenty of free parking spaces including a bunch of charging slots for electric cars. Motivated and exceptionally friendly staff. Quick Wi-Fi in all areas. I saw a LAN socket in the room (didn't try it though). Great gym. Sauna was open. Nearby tourist attractions are easily reached by car. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to Austria.

Zimmer ist sehr sauber und nett eingerichet. Leider war es ungewöhnlich kalt trotz Aussentemperaturen von 30 Grad. Badezimmerboden müsste eine Fussbodenheizung haben. Lage ist nur für geübte Autofahrer d.h. schmale Bergstrasse und enge Parkplatzmöglichkeiten.

I have stayed at the Golden Ship a few times now, and I have always enjoyed my time there. However, I was particularly looking forward to my visit in early September because I knew that the Hotel had undergone extensive improvements since I was last there, pre-Covid. It did not disappoint, as the place looks amazing now. All of the Staff that I had dealings with were super helpful, especially the lady in the breakfast room who was keen to ensure that I was well looked after, lovely soul (I’m sorry, I didn’t get her name). I didn’t partake of the Spa facilities nor Restaurant, so can’t comment on those, but the Breakfasts are legendary, with everything you could wish for. I also liked the lockers, where you can store your baggage if there’s time to kill between checking-out and leaving the area. There are also now 2 lifts which help with elevator congestion The proximity to the town centre and the Bus/Railway station, coupled with Austria’s efficient public transport network makes the Hotel Goldenes Schiff a fantastic choice for someone like myself who never hires a vehicle whilst overseas. Bad Ischl is a superb base for exploring the Salzkammergut region, and I wouldn’t hesitate to sort accommodation at this hotel when I’m next there.
