First time for everything! Excellent location I’m centre and nice vibe to place! Needed a place to freshen up and sleep for few hours, hostels not my thing but surprised how many ( international baby boomers / young professionals staying. Key code access - when it works very good way of keeping Edinburghs undesirables out! And they’ve plenty.. Pod beds okay, game of chance if you have inconsiderate guests or early departures in dorm rooms! Tricky to get dressed in privacy 😳 Best thing! Really really clean and plenty of shower cubicles. Well done staff who keep it clean! Didn’t like to pay for a towel - just really mean 😪 Staff helpful but not really interested guests needs! They typify hospitality problem 🤷🏼♂️ Would I stay again, yep, but not romantically for me ! My youngest students son was impressed!

An amazing Hostel that encourages you to meet new people on your travels. They have daily meet up and events so that meeting new people is super easy and fun. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they give some amazing pub recommendations as well.

I've stayed in a few hostels in my time - I think this is my 13th - and I was a bit worried about loud noises and a lack of privacy. Fortunately I had neither - it was really, really quiet in my 12 bunk room. It had blackout privacy curtains, a USB port and a plug socket. Amazing! The hostel facilities are all clean and well put together. Staff are helpful, although sometimes you'll need to contact them via WhatsApp as there's no 24 hour desk (it's a small place). The only drawback is the long walk up a spiral staircase, but... there's not much they can do about that. Strongly recommended for more introverted travellers. If I come back to Edinburgh I'll absolutely stay here again.

I didn’t love my stay here, even though everything was clean and the staff were lovely. I stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm, with a very very slow to close squeaky door. With the usual people coming and going throughout the night, this made for a few really terrible nights of sleep. I mentioned it to reception who seemed like it was out of their hands to fix- pack earplugs for your stay here! Otherwise no issues at all, and very well located.

Located 10 mins walk away from the station, great location, affordable price. Charges for pillow/duvet cover, also a separate charge for towel.

Clean, spacious facilities, lovely staff, and a great common area to hang out at. The beds are very cozy, and the whole place is well cared-for. It’s also a very convenient location. I can’t believe how affordable this is! Many thanks to the gentleman who carried our giant suitcase up the stairs.

I stayed in an upper pod on a hot day in Sept 2023 and it was too hot to get any sleep. There was also a lot of noise from the bin area on the street outside but the earplugs sorted that. Next time I would maybe bring my own USB powered fan to plug into one of the 2 USB ports next to the head of the bed. Usually I stay at The Court. Loft is better central location but its a smaller property and everything is a bit cramped. E.g. there is only 1 toilet on each floor so I had to change floors to find an unoccupied one. Opening the door with the phone app is really cool. Enjoyed leaving luggage using the locker. Wasn't sure how to communicate that I had checked out given there is no reception but I just told the cleaner.

As a solo female traveller the location was perfect, just off of the royal mile with a variety of pubs and nightlife a minuets walk away to avoid long walks home alone. Location just up the stairs from the market street exit to Edinburgh Waverley was also ideal. Free luggage storage on day of arrival and on the way home for a fee. Room and bedding very clean. Lockers too skinny for me, unable to lock away full bag. Remember to bring own padlock as they are quite expensive to rent. Staff were very friendly and communal areas were nice. Toilets/showers were quite small but did the job and seemed clean and the same could be said for the kitchen. Overall enjoyable experience and I would go back.
