Hotel berhampiran Canadian Islamic Center - Al Rashid Mosque (Masjid), Edmonton

Well, the valet & front desk staff were cordial, the room was quite small with a weird sliding window between the sink & the bed, the special big ice they encourage you to order doesn't fit in any of the glasses provided in the room...the room service was hit & miss...the workout area was absolutely AMAZING though...world class... The lobby bar is quite crafty/cold in winter...almost everyone had their coats on...the bartender was excellent! All in all not good value for your dollar...

This was a lovely hotel, very clean and up to date. The front staff were very friendly and accommodating. The lounge however was atrocious. The man who was serving us was super friendly but got my friends dessert wrong and forgot mine. I wasn’t going to get one but he had suggested I try their sorbet which never came out. We didn’t mind as it was a debate between one dessert and the other so it didn’t matter and I wasn’t planning on getting one anyways. The thing that was probably the reason this hotel didn’t get 5 stars was the breakfast service. We specifically booked this hotel because the breakfast was included. The buffet was subpar so we didn’t have much on our plates. There were no servers for the first 20 min of us sitting down and no way to get any kind of drink ourselves. When they finally came out from wherever they were, we still didn’t get served drinks or checked on for at least 10 min. When we got our food, we were given a bill right away and told it was $33 each. (This is insane because they didn’t have much food anyways) We went to the front desk and they came with us to sort it out and talked to the waitress and when she came up to us, we asked her about the bill and she still said we had to pay so I went back to the front desk and they were very frustrated with this server as well. We ended up walking out of there. Westin edmonton lounge, do better.

One of the best hotel around downtown area! Staffs are very friendly and helpful whenever needed.

Stayed here due to an unexpected family emergency during the COVID pandemic. We choose this particular location as it was near our destination. We had a comfortable stay, for a very reasonable price, in a trying time. Rooms were modern with mini fridge and microwave (always appreciated) and flat screen T.V. (although a smaller one). I found the beds comfortable, my husband did not. The staff did as well as possible with the COVID restrictions. A free breakfast is provided. The breakfast room was not open, however, when you checked in they took your order for breakfast and then you picked up your bag in the morning. I thought it was nice that they went to the trouble of providing anything, when they could have instead used COVID as an excuse to cancel breakfast all together. Unfortunately the pool was closed (as required by current COVID restrictions), so we did not get to try it. In regards to the location - this is not a tourist location. It is more a location you would stay if you had a particular reason to (e.g. family or business in the area). That being said, it is a fairly convenient spot. There are lots of restaurants nearby (a couple sharing the same parking lot) and you are right next to the LRT that goes downtown. (In fact there were two train tracks right outside our room, but I did not find this bothersome or particularly noisy.) It's unlikely that we will have reason to spend the night in this area of Edmonton again, however, if we did I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel.

Booked this hotel..for 4 nights.. still here it’s night 2, but seriously going to be looking at other options in the morning for a better stay. I am paying 440$ a night for something that I thought was executive high end.. very disappointed. Plus side, the room is really great, beds and pillows are comfy and it is very clean. Here’s the thing, 440$ a night ? For what? Generally hotels that are in this price range come with: a concierge, a door man or two, room service, a mini bar, room service, turn down service, basic housekeeping service ,a room directory etc.. this hotel comes with no amenities which is just fine but at least lower your rates and don’t tout yourselves to be something you’re not. When I questioned front desk staff it was all blamed on Covid. Cop out at best and I feel sorry for your staff. I work in this industry and am appalled. Quit blaming the pandemic for your shortcomings. Great if you want to cheap out but at least lower your rates and call a spade a spade.

I moved here are going to another hotel which was awful so went back to reliable Marriott. Checked in about 30 minutes after booking - room was lovely and clean but everything was ready. Rooms are not big I had a city view which is basically of the car park but there was a bed, comfortable chair and desk. Housekeeping came daily. The downside to the room is the hairdryer kept flipping the breaker - I left a note to report it buck the note was ignored which also asked for conditioner in the room (those big sharable ones in the shower) which was also not refilled. We arrived in the weetesdt June on record - the hotel was cold and although I was able to warm the room up the restaurant was blowing cold air throughout the stay so you had to sit with a hoodie on. The hotel is being renovated the 2 lifts were being painted and out of commission during my stay - not an issue as we were all able to sue the service elevator but there is only one so sometimes there was a line. Also the outdoor patio dining area overlooking the river is being renovated and we were told it would not be available all summer. The hote restaurant staff were lovely and friendly - the menu is a bit eclectic - you know on a rainy nite when you just want soup and a sandwich - well not available - they dont offer this - one of the pizzas came with blue cheese so I asked to switch for regular cheese - you cannot do that as they come in ready made. The menu is Indian food centric - lots of indian flavors (such as the poutine - how I wanted to try regular poutine but again not available) there is spice and curry flavor an a host of Lentil dishes on the menu and a lot of bok choi etc but very few of what I would call traditional flavours - for example as well as a soup on a cold rainy night a fish and chips might have been nice or a pot pie. The walk into downtown is nice - the view on the river is nice however we were warned about walking in downtown Edmonton as since covid there has been some changes - there are a lot of street people - pot is smoked everywhere and for a girl travelling i was told not to walk outside alone if I could help it. There are limited dining options without walking other than the hotel restaurant - in fact most nights there were several tables of lone female travellers in the restaurant

The staff at Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown Edmonton truly care about each aspect of their facility. I observed pride taken in cleanliness, hospitality and care. While we were here, we experienced something that could have happened anywhere in the world. This was not something the Comfort Inn could have prevented. Its' one of those things that happens in our modern work of technology. The staff worked fast to get my child and I help. They did not waste time and called for emergency assistance. When the incident concluded; each staff from check in, to breakfast, to cleaning were so compassionate and gracious with our state of trauma. We stayed at the hotel for the duration of the stay as I was more confident than ever this Hotel was the right choice. If you was a great, clean, hospitable stay while in Edmonton; you will want to be here at the Comfort Inn and Suites Downtown Edmonton. February 2023 Stayed two nights on a weekend with two children. We had a room on the top floor with two queen beds. The room seemed small compared to other hotels in Edmonton I have stayed at recently. The frame on the bed stuck out past the mattress and we bumped our knees againsts it several times when walking by. The elevators made me feel uneasy, as you stepped in they had a small bounce to them. I did not like riding in them at all and there was a sign in them warning not to jump because it could disrupt them, well we certainly did not jump and just stepping in to them caused the bounce. The pool is open until 11pm which is nice, we waited until around 10:30pm each night to enjoy the last half hour when it wasn't full of screaming kids. Pool noise is understandable but the way kids were allowed to scream and holler was enough to make my own kids not want to be in there. By the looks of it there were a few sports teams staying at this time making the pool area busy with kids. We opted to pay the extra during booking to have breakfast included. It was good and quite a bit of made to order items along with cold cereals, fruit, juice ect. There is an area in the lobby that has free coffee to go as well. Breakfast hours on the weekend were 7-11, we had an event that we had to leave early for which rushed breakfast a bit. Weekdays it starts at 6am and I wish that it would have started at that time on the weekend as well. There was some confusion over whether or not my 15 old had her breakfast included with my booking, the person working in that area said it was included for kids 12 and under and I would have to pay extra because she was over 12. I told her I booked it and paid for it in my booking which showed 18+ being an adult on the website and added my 2 kids to my booking with the breakfast and it showed in the booking that breakfast was included for each adult and child. She spoke to the front desk and said it was ok after talking to them, but why I would even have to go through that process to begin with was very embarrassing and frustrating when we were already on a time crunch. There was plenty of parking in the lot. Located within about 10 minutes or less to West Edmonton Mall and several restaraunts nearby. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly but nothing about it gave me that wow feeling or like I would want to return and I spend many weekends in Edmonton for my childs events.

A very comfortable stay. Staff are extra helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Great value for the convenience and comfort. I would recommend this place, and I will not hesitate to stay there again.

Service was good. I wasn’t able to go to the gym. The cafe was closed. I haven’t tried the food. The drinks are good.
