Hotel berhampiran Havannah Beach and Boat Club, Efate

We have stayed at Fatumaru Lodge many times and we love it, it feels better then home. If you like to kayak or stand up paddling you have it right out your front balcony. (kayaks and stand up boards are provided free of charge) If you like to swim they have a pool just out your back door, the pool area has lots of shade and a BBQ you can use. You get beautiful view of the sunset that cover the sky in lovely colours which we look forward even night. The rooms have very large king size bed with a small kitchenet. The staff can book your airport transfers at the best price and they transfers staff will have a sign with your name on it at the airport gate. When taking a bus or taxi around town every driver knows how to get to Fatumaru Lodge. It about a 20 minute into town and you pass many bars and restaurants and long the way. We have plans to come back to Port Vila and we will be booking here again.

The entire staff are so incredibly amazing, everyone is helpful and friendly. The resort is perfect in every way, the Cultural events held are wonderful and the food is very delicious, daily ferry is quick and easy. We have had the most amazing holiday. Thankiu Tumas.

Staff are really friendly but you need to be aware No WiFi in Rooms /Restaurant is closed so other than ”no choice breakfast” no food or snacks are available. Breakfast 2 toast 1 Butter 1 egg half a bacon rasher I tea bag and 1 Nescafe sachet in room Kettle but no fridge or Microwave so no milk or sugar. No Toiletries Room only cleaned on demand Photos are misleading

I'd give it 3.5/5 but the rating system does not allow it, and am being generous. The hotel seems to have been around for some time already and it is slowly delapidating. It is not in a bad shape, but parts of it could benefit from a facelift. Rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom style is oldish but it is perfectly usable. They do housekeeping only if requested, which is a smart move. Who really needs daily cleaning in their room? Staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a quite good restaurant attached to the hotel, and it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Complimentary continental breakfast is included in the room price, and you can exchange money to items on the menu. Continental breakfast has the usual bread, butter and marmalades with fresh baguette and coffee/tea. They have also (watered down) soup to go with bread.

I stayed at Tropicana for 2 weeks with a friend and my two children ( 2 year old and a 7 month old). SERVICE - The staff are absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable right from the get go. I made a mistake and booked the wrong room (the smaller one) and they managed to get another bed into our room. The staff took our luggage and children up the stairs for us. They also would bring dinner to our room if our children were sleeping or didn't want to come down. I had great conversations with some of the staff and really got to know them. When our bus broke down, the manager called one of their own drivers for us. They were all so happy and friendly! Not a single complaint with the service. CLEANLINESS - Our room was very tidy and was serviced every day. The hardwood floor and balcony was swept, towels replaced, rubbish taken out, dishes done and beds made every single day. The house keeper offered to do our laundry and we received it back the next day as well. We had no issues with mosquitos, there were a few lizards on the roof outside but that was a non-issue. The grounds were clean, everyday we saw men working to keep the place tidy and presentable. SPACE - We had a beach front apartment (Room 11) which was located upstairs. The room had enough room for us to walk around while the toddler was playing. It also had a baby cot, double bed and single bed as well so I feel the room was very spacious. There was a large wardrobe with coat hangers and shelving we we could fit all of our suitcases and bags. There was a small table with 2 chairs and a couch that seated 3 people. The balcony was large with another table and 2 chairs. There was an air conditioning unit that was quite powerful and cooled our room right down in minutes as well as a ceiling fan. There was a flat screen tv. In the kitchen we had a microwave, toaster, kettle, gas stove with 2 elements, small fridge and plenty of cupboard and bench space. SECURITY - We felt very safe at Tropicana. There is a safe in the wardrobe where we kept our passports. They also have a security guard stay onsite overnight. BEDDING - Very comfortable, my children slept all night which never usually happens. Me and my friend had comfortable sleeps every night. NOISE - Some nights we could hear dogs barking from across the lagoon but it was faint enough to not disturb us. No traffic noise as Tropicana is situated down a long driveway away from the road. LOCATION - About a 10 minute drive from Port Vila township, 15 minutes from the airport. Just down the road from the supermarket and ATM. PRICE - Definitely worth the price. Affordable. FOOD - The chefs make amazing meals. Best beef burger I have ever had. So full of flavour and very big servings. GENERAL - Tropicana has a small pool which starts shallow and then gets very deep at one end. There were 2 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board for guests to use. Probably one of the swishest gaffs on the island. Decent buffet breakfast...nicely appointed rooms...quiet and away from everything. Shame the lagoon is so polluted (not (exclusively) this hotel's fault to be fair) that no one can swim in it. Good Sports bar.

Overall we enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Breakas. We had an ocean view room which had a stunning view. The dinners poolside had a lovely ambience and the food was delicious. We highly recommend the seafood pizza, G.C.O prawns and seafood scoglio. It’s in a nice location, only a short ride by local bus to the main part of town. It is also walking distance to Three Pigs and Cafe Vila which also have delicious food. We loved the band singing on the beach Monday night but weren’t aware of it until returning from dinner out. We recommend a sheet detailing special performances and the like is given to guests upon check in. The included breakfast could do with some improvements by adding things like herbal teas and different juices. We also had a massage at the resort. Perhaps with some further training for staff this will improve but for now we would not recommend. Having stayed a previous 4 nights at Paradise Cove Resort we were a little disappointed in the service and friendliness of staff at the main desk. At times there was no one at reception and the bell to ring for service didn’t work. We know of other guests who also had the same impression. It really put a dampener on the overall vibe and we felt like we were being a burden when enquiring about the littlest of things.
