Upon check in using digital key, discovered leaking toilet water on the floor of the bathroom by stepping in it barefoot. Yuck. Contacted the front desk and was told I am not checked in. Am I in the room, the clerk asked. Uh, yes I’m in room 711 and we need a new room, this one has broken plumbing. Oh, she said. Well, what kind of room do you have? Really? So you work at the front desk and do not know what kind of room #711 is? Wow. So I tell her it’s a king patio room. Oh, that’s a problem, she says. I’m thinking, yes, it sure is and it’s your problem. We need a new room. I’m paying $230 a night for this place. She finally figures out a new room and sends the digital key to me but it still shows the old room number. All in all it took about 20 minutes to get the new room. Then, once in the new room, the a/c is not working well, the sink has a broken handle and won’t drain, and there are only 2 towels and washcloths. Here we go again, calling the front desk. She says she will send up more towels & washcloths, which eventually towels do arrive, but….no washcloths. We declined a visit from engineering to install a new filter and fix the sink because who knows how long that would take and we have things to do. I removed the sink plug as a temporary fix. My husband got the a/c to cool better, it was hold-set at a high number that didn’t show on the thermostat. Not helpful. Paid an up charge for a patio room by the pool, BUT, lo and behold, one can’t get to the pool from the room. Also, the interstate is right there and it is too loud to even sit out. My bad for not asking enough questions, I guess. But, who offers a patio pool room with no pool access?? I discovered just how filthy the carpet is in the room when I saw the bottom of my formerly white socks. Yuck. Very disappointed in this property. We’ve stayed here before with a better result. There is much deferred maintenance evident everywhere here, from the filthy carpet and a/c filter to the dings and damaged furniture and finishes to the plumbing issues to the broken sink handle. The pool fountain lights are broken, save for one. Next day, we take the ‘do not disturb’ sign down so the room can be serviced while we are away, and go about our business in El Paso. At least the bed was comfortable and there was hot water this morning. Upon returning, we wait for 20 minutes for an elevator to the room and it never arrives. We walk up several flights of stairs, only to find the room at 2 pm has not been serviced. Call the front desk and am told that check out room are their priority and someone ‘might’ be in later. Further, was told the one working elevator was held for 20 minutes to be cleaned. Wow again. Next, we try to learn what beers are served in the hotel restaurants to aid in the decision process for dinner tonight and the website doesn’t give any info. Call the front desk yet again to be told, oh, all food service is closed from 10 am to 4 pm. What? I guess lunch and room
