The good... STAFF The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very very friendly. CLEANLINESS The reception area was very tidy and the pool area seemed pleasant enough. The room was also very clean on check-in. MINIBAR The minibar was well stocked with a selection of CocaCola beverages and snacks though don't get caught out as they charge 2.25 EUR an item on checkout. I was bed and breakfast only, so minibar items might be included in other boards. I'm not too sure there. The bad.... AIRCONDITIONG While the room was clean, it was absolutely boiling on check-in. Warmer than the corridors or reception. I don't mind this usually so long as you can cool the room quickly, but unfortunately the air-con was terrible. I'm not joking when I say it took over an hour to get the room down to a bearable temperature. Continuing the theme of the air-con, during the night a ceiling panel fell out from the bathroom with an almighty crash. There was water absolutely everywhere. I can only presume the air-conditionings poor ability to cool the room was related to the fact it's pipework was clogged. The unit had expelled moisture out into the ceiling void and it must've simply given way. Fortunately, the bathroom was a wet-room so thankfully I could push most of that moisture into the drains with the towels. This is not what you expect when you want a restful sleep. PIPEWORK On the theme of plumbing, anytime anyone took a shower, or flushed the toilet on the floor above it made a right racket through the pipework. I live in an apartment block back home and I am used to this kind of thing, but this was on another level. SHOWER The water pressure was great, which is a positive, but it was too much for the shower head that seemed more interested in washing the ceiling than my body. Anytime you set it pointing at you it quickly flipped upwards to spray over the walls and ceiling. I ended up holding it to shower. BREAKFAST Breakfast was advertised throughout all promotional materials as starting from 0700, but it did not open until 0730. Given the lack of sleep I had I did not have the energy to raise that with the management. I had enough time to grab a pastry or two before getting my taxi. === I wasn't overly impressed after a poor night. I did not raise these items with reception because I was so tired after a day in the Spanish heat that I simply wanted to crash for the night. My employer also paid for this room. If I was staying beyond a single night I would have said something! I would've certainly spoken up if I'd paid my own money for a night here.
