Taru Villas Villu - Wilpattu

The place is truely beautiful, the location, the spaceous rooms, the facilities like pool etc ; food is amazing and staff is exceptionl! The one roome for improvement is in the arrangement for safaris, which relies on local ‘sub-contracted’ jeeps which are old, crappy, uncomfortable, cobbled up self-made safari cars. There is no legroom, the seats are cramped, it’s the cheapest of the cheapest - which is in complete contrast to the really nice and comfortable Taru Villa lodge. The place needs a better safari car, else the safari tours are not recommended

We stayed 3 nights at Taru Villas and wow - it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. It was our first time doing any type of Safari and we chose Wilpattu as we had heard it was less crowded than other locations in Sri Lanka. Praneeth and the safari team made the whole experience wonderful, we were very lucky to see two leopards, crocodiles, elephants, lots of monkeys, a samba and so much more besides. We also did a sunset boat cruise which I highly recommend too. We loved doing the safari early and late and having the hottest part of the day to lounge by the pool. The hotel was stunning and the food and mocktail selection was excellent. Jeewan and the team were so friendly and accommodating. We will remember this stay forever!

We had a luxurious stay immersed in wonderful nature. Freinldy staff, great food, a fantastic room and the very forthcoming butler service made this a very enjoyable stay for our safari in Wilpattu.

We went to enjoy the area wildlife and this hotel made sure we did! The grounds were fantastic, incredible room with our own pool. The staff was amazing! They were attentive to every need we could have. We had full board and meals were top notch

Villu is a beautifully designed all suite hotel with excellent staff and facilities right by Wilpattu National Park. If you want to avoid the chaos and crowds in Yala this is for you. Staff were all so professional and friendly- particularly Praneeth the manager/ Ranger, Kalum / Madeesha - restaurant and Sanjeewa made great cocktails. We have been visiting SL for over 20 years and this new hotel is definitely one of our favourites if you want the balance of seeing real unspoiled nature but some Western luxuries when you return to your hotel. Great for a romantic getaway or families with kids. Taru villas gets it right again!

Amazing setting with an individual plunge pool in the room, very small intimate resort .excellent food and service lovely villa accommodation

Fantastic Villa so spacious with our own plunge pool, beautiful location, felt like being in the reserve. Staff were brilliant very helpful and friendly. Stayed 3 nights on full board and food was lovely. First night was a bbq on the jetty, very tasty! Would highly recommend. Loved staying here. Only downside was the nearest park entrance was closed so it was 1 1/2 to 2 hour each way drive to main park entrance.

We enjoyed every second of our stay. The location is very quiet, only about 15 minutes from the entrance to Wilpattu National Park. The villa and the entire property were in excellent and very well-maintained condition. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. This hotel deserves more than 5 stars. If you plan to visit Wilpattu National Park, this is the perfect place to stay.

It was a great experience staying at Tharu villas Wilpattu. Villas are spacious, with modern features and has great architecture. Secluded without any disturbances. Property is located about 15 minutes from Wilpattu NP, Eluwankulama entrance, which also is not very crowded. Staff is very friendly and caring. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes nature and wants a peaceful secluded stay.
