It’s difficult to fully describe the high quality of our stay. For a start the unit was immaculate with everything supplied for a long stay. Extremely comfortable bed and living room lounge, table and chairs. When we left we felt like we’d left home and family. Jenny and Alison are lovely ladies and took great attention to us as did all staff. Then we have a fantastic manager Alex who was also so caring and helpful. He even offered on two occasions to come with us to help with the dangerous removal of our personal property from our wrecked caravan. This was an extremely comforting stay for us after the shock we suffered from having our lovely caravan being totally written off by negligence of a utility driver. Hopefully we can return and renew friendships with this ptoperty and the lovely people. Bill and Nonie.

I recently stayed at Route 66 Motor Inn for a business trip. On arrival, the complex itself is fairly basic and needs a bit of attention. It has an on-site restaurant, a small pool, laundry facilities and a horseshoe arrangement of 30-40+ rooms. Each room has a designated carpark outside of it with a single chair by the door. It feels very much like a workers camp. I stayed in a queen bedroom studio apartment. Opening the door, there was a musty smell however this dissipated quickly once inside. You walk straight into the ”kitchen area” which comprises of a sink, 2 sets of cutlery, plates, wine glasses, glasses, cleaning equipment, toaster, kettle and 3/4 sized fridge. You do get complimentary tea and coffee, biscuits and water. This little area is tiled but the rest of the room is carpeted. It is sorta clean but not spotless. The carpets are worn, the bedspread is aging and the furniture has seen better days. They have squashed a lot of furniture into a little place. Imagine a dining table for 2 people, a desk and 2 dining chars, build in wardrobe, 2 tub chairs and the queen sized bed that is most likely a double bed, 2 bedside tables into a small 3 x 3 room - It has everything you need for a basic stay but is very tight. No way you could fit 2 people in there. In my room I had a sliding glass door at the end of the room and a window to open. All windows/doors had security screens which makes you feel ”safer” in the area you are in. There is a patio but there is a big sign on the sliding door telling you to be careful because people lock themselves on their patios. Looking out at the patio - it wouldn't be a pleasant experience. It has 1 chair and not much space and is basically a place to smoke even though the compendium tells you not to smoke anywhere you can drag cigarette smoke into the unit. Outside on the patio there are some basic screens to stop the neighbour entering your unit but you can see right through them. It would be a PIA to be locked out there and climb over them though. The view is a concrete wall... I'm also thinking an inexperienced male might have done the interior decorating because they thought throw pillows would give the room a ”classy appeal” so if you like little pillows - this room is for you! The bed...well the bed has seen better days. I haven't felt springs in my back like that for a few years but you can find a spot (if you are alone) to be comfortable. Pillows were nice and fluffy though! The camp site workers have spoken as there is quite a big plasma tv on the wall with austar basic channels. The microwave is a bit strange so I just pressed a few buttons and hoped for the best and my meals were cooked. It does some weird steaming function I'm not sure about. Wifi was fairly good. The bathroom was modern and thank goodness - it had no shower curtain!!!! That is a huge plus in my book. Well furnished with good environment

I stopped in for an overnight on my drive From Tully to Roma. The access is very good just off the Highway. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. If you are looking for a spot for a rest on your travels I would highly Recommend Dooley’s.

We were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was clean, spacious and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast pack provided at reception was a bit ordinary. Location was good, close to everything. On line check in was easy. Would stay here again.
