Hotel berhampiran Statue of Chinggis Khan, Erdene

5/5 stay. We arranged a pick up from downtown UB which included sightseeing on the way. This took about 4.5 hours. I booked a ger for 2 nights. The experience was magical. Even though it dropped to -3 during the night, it was very warm. Breakfast was usually eggs / bread / bacon. Good coffee. Showers/ loos were situated a 3 mins walk from ger. We arranged a 3 1/2 hour horse trek through the hotel. I would recommend this as it’s a great way to see the area. The horse were very well behaved taking us through rivers and overland. On our final day the hotel arranged to visit a local nomad and watch him bring his cattle in. Also throughly recommend. We ate dinner at the restaurant each night. Food ample and yummy. They were happy to cook non meat options for me that weren’t on the menu. All in all this was a great a experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would love to come in the spring!

Приехали мы в подружкой в отель 29.10.22 в 7 утра , были уставшие после поезда и хоть заселение стоит в 11 часов утра , нас заселила сразу прекрасная девушка на ресепшн. Очень понравился номер на 7 этаже, на столе бутылочки бесплатной воды, чай -Кофе , в ванной комнате принадлежности для душа , все бесплатно и кстати пополняется каждый день. Убирали в номере тоже каждый день. В номере все стандартно , две большие кровати , чайный столик , чайник , холодильник , телевизор (Кстати много русскоязычных каналов) есть сейф, что очень удобно. На завтрак шведский стол , вполне разнообразные завтраки, очень доброжелательные девушки готовят омлеты;) Очень хорошая в отеле звукоизоляция, ночью очень тихо. Что хочется особо отметить , на ресепшене познакомились с девушкой по имени Мига, она очень хорошо говорит по русски, она же быстро заселила нас в первый день. Мига и потом очень нам помогала по всем вопросам. С экскурсиями , с такси , с покупками Лекарства , продуктов и даже где что купить. Дала свой личный номер телефона и мы конечно постоянно пользовались ее добротой. Она золотой человек , потому как никогда не отказала , а подсказывала где что дешевле и как будет удобнее. Мига , я только из за знакомства с вами очень хочу приехать ещё в Монголию , именно в ваш отель. Отель рекомендую , соотношение цена - качество , ну и прекрасные сотрудники! Loyal House Hotel has an old hotel and a new one (ii). This is the old one. Service was perfect: Very passionate and hospitable, basic English, taxi booking service provided. Room was generally okay. Rate: 8 out of 10. Hot water 7/24 supply. Air conditioner equipped. Has a window. Carpet was a little bit dirty but acceptable. My room has a smell but the smell goes if window opened. Free bottled water for 2. Location: Close to city center. A 15-20min walk distance. About 1h car drive to the new airport (traffic is soooo congested in Ulaanbaatar). ! There are two airports in use in Ulaanbaatar right now. The old one is NOT for civil use anymore so remember go to the right one!! Leave at least 3 hours for your trip to the airport, and even more when far away or at rush hours.

This hotel does not meet the standards of other Kempinskis. My family and I travel a lot, like A LOT, and we've been to many Kempinski hotels. The problems started with our booking, which we made directly through the hotels' website (not a 3rd party). The booking states a 12:00 check in, but the hotel told us this was a mistake and their check in time is 2:00 pm. They allowed us to check in at noon without a fee, but it took series of emails in advance. We also booked the breakfast meal package through the website. On our first morning in the breakfast lounge, we were told we didn't get breakfast because we didn't have the meal package. Once again, I had to pull out my reservation receipt and prove (in front of other guests) that we had paid for the breakfast. They of course accepted the receipt and realized they made an error, but it was another hassle we shouldn't have had to deal with. The day before our departure, we requested the hotel have a cab ready for us to catch our early flight (we needed to leave the hotel around 3:30 am). The young man behind the desk indicated he would do so and that we could expect a 100,000 tugrik (about 29.00 USD) flat rate for the taxi ride (this is also what we paid to get to the hotel). After spending the day on the town, buying souvenirs, and spending our local currency (but saving taxi money), we returned to the hotel. I double checked with a different guy at the desk that we would have a taxi waiting for us. Afterall, as the evening Front Desk Receptionist, it would be his job to call the taxi company. It was good I double checked, because the other guy hadn't taken action and hadn't passed along the request. Moreover, when the taxi arrived in the wee hours of the morning, we were told by the Front Desk Receptionist that it was actually a 200,000 tugrik charge (double!). We were also told the first ”receptionist” we had spoken to earlier in the day was actually a Bell Hop and we were informed that he wasn't even supposed to be working behind the counter. As a result, we had no choice but to withdraw additional local currency (taxi couldn't take a card) from the hotel Front Desk (for a nice fee) in order to pay the taxi. What's particularly irksome is that we had plenty of cash which we would have saved if we had simply been told the correct amount. There were other issues, but this review is already lengthy... Overall, we had a less than stellar experience at this Kempinski. If you're going to Ulaanbaatar, I'd recommend you stay elsewhere. If we ever go back we'll probably stay at the Shangri-la. It's closer to the airport as well as the heart of the city.
