Hotel berhampiran Graffiti Schönleinstrasse, Essen

Eine neue, gute Adresse. Die Gegebenheiten sind von solider, gehobener Qualität, der Stil des Hotels entspricht heutigem Standard. Bemerkenswert gut funktionieren die Lifts, bemerkenswert zugewandt ist die gesamte Rezeption. Die Preise sind fair, bei sorgfältiger Wahl auch günstig. Nicht ganz so günstig erscheint die Anordnung der Frühstücksräume. Ein großer Vorzug ist es dagegen, dass es im Haus einen Durchgang zu einem Fitness-Studio und einer Bar gibt, wo man auch spätabends und nachts noch Getränke findet, und obendrein auch den einen oder anderen Bissen. Had a great stay in Moxy Essen from 11/06/2023 – 14/06/2023. I was travelling around the Rhine Ruhr region with my friend (and we both have Marriott Gold elite status from staying in a Marriott for university). This hotel was in a great location right next to the HBF station in Essen and was clean and modern. The bar had a good vibe and we had free drinks on arrival. We used points for this stay, and the way that the points worked out meant that we had 2 different bookings over 3 nights, but this was not an issue and we managed to get the same room for the duration of our stay (we even got a bonus welcome drink for it)! I’m probably not going to do the hotel justice here, but it was a well laid out and stylish hotel with decent sized rooms. We had a twin room to share and the staff made extra effort so that we were on the quieter side of the building. We initially checked into the hotel at approximately 2pm, but decided to spend the afternoon in Wuppertal. When we arrived back on the first night. I had a shower, and there was no shampoo. No big deal, but I ended up going down to reception to ask for some. The man couldn’t find any shampoo, but about half an hour later, some appeared, I think he probably brought I from the shop as it wasn’t in the normal bright pink Moxy bottle, but it was really nice of him to make the effort. That day, the weather hit 32 degrees and whilst we were waiting for the shampoo, we tried to work out how the air conditioning worked. Between me and my friend that I was travelling with, we couldn’t work it out, so we asked the employee. However, between the 3 of us and Google we could not work it out. Anyway, I think we were the only people in the hotel that night as this was approximately midnight local time, and I think we went in every room in the corridor. To try and find one with working air con. All of them were empty! We eventually found one that wasn’t like a sauna and packed our stuff and moved. The employee was genuinely the nicest and most helpful employee I think I have ever seen in a hotel, very apologetic, but also very sociable. It was really nice to meet him as he was so happy to help. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name, but he had a ponytail I think and said he was Turkish. I think he will know who we are when he reads this! I saw him off duty in the bar the next night and thanked him. We even got 2 free breakfasts out of this!! The breakfast was good, though probably not worth the price we were told when we booked (I think it was about 15 euros but can’t remember as I have stayed in about 5 hotels in the past week and they have all rolled into one a bit). There was a few cooked items (Bacon & Scrambled Egg) and a few cold/ cereal items, but not loads. I probably wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast as all the Moxys allow a free coffee/ juice in the morning and a pastry, which is a nice touch. I stayed here for a month whilst working in Essen. Receptionist friendly helpful and spoke excellent English. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was dated but clean and spacious and included a fridge. I was thankful for the air conditioning as the weather was hot at the time of my stay but would have preferred a sheet instead of the thick quilt. Breakfast was the standard offering but a rip off at €21 - you get a far better and cheaper breakfast at similar hotels. There’s a bar and an evening menu but this wasn’t always open however when it was the barman was great to have a chat with and get some local knowledge. There’s power sockets by the bedsides and WiFi was good. Location is good being just a 5 min walk to the underwhelming and disappointing city centre. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the metro which offers great value and for a fee of €9, gets you anywhere, although this was during a summer promotion. As a resident you get access to a gym across the road. The house keeping was at times quite poor with surfaces not wiped down. Overall a convenient place to stay but in need of modernisation which I think is a possibility in the future.

Central location for access to the centre of Essen. Parking opposite and various shops and restaurants in walking distance. Comfortable and modern like all NH. Room a bit warm and didn’t seem possible to adjust.

ROLSTOELGEBRUIKER. Moderne architectuur. Voorbeeldig aangepaste kamer en badkamer voor mindervaliden. De receptionistes spraken vlot Engels. Gratis en voorbehouden parking vlak voor hotel. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Mijn echtgenote vroeg of zij niet een ‘zachtere’ matras kon krijgen (rugpijnen) en men bracht een ‘topdeckmatras’. (Dank u) Er is een bar, die blijkbaar niet veel publiek trekt. En bovendien niet direct een gezelligheid uitstraalt. Uitstekende en gratis WiFi. Aangename en bijzonder stille airco….Lang geleden dat we nog een exemplaar van het Nieuwe Testament op een hotelkamer vonden...En kon er echt geen kleine frigo op de kamer ? 4 sterren en 135 euro/nacht. Het hotel heeft ook een 'sociaal' beleid. Een aantal werknemers zijn mindervalide personen. In de omgeving is er zeker niks dat aan ‘uitgaansleven’ gekoppeld kan worden. Je moet naar het stadscentrum...10 minuten auto (zonder file) Rij naar de Kennedyplatz…(centrum)

Always a good stay. Sometimes, during the night a little bit noisy, but is nothing. Next to the city centre, next to a shopping center, next to good restaurants, free parking in a garage and in the street... What else :)

Vanuit dit hotel is veel te bereiken op loopafstand. Gunstig dus. Wellicht goed voor diegene die aankomen om bij de rotonde al een bord te plaatsen met de naam van het hotel. Het hotel zelf is best trendy, heel en schoon te noemen. De receptie is 24 uur open. De bar stelt niet veel voor. Dat is jammer. De combinatie van receptionist en bediening van de bar is ook niet handig. De kamer is schoon en netjes. Wat ontbreekt zijn glazen en de dekbedden zijn synthetisch en dus veel te warm. Een betere instructie voor de airco/klimaat zou ook handig zijn. Van de info op tv word ik ook niet veel wijzer. Tijdens slapen het raam openlaten betekent veel lawaai vanaf de straat. Verder een prima basic kamer. Het ontbijt goed uitgebreid en helemaal niets mis mee. Parkeren binnen de hekken kost 10 euro per dag onnodig en niet klantvriendelijk. Voor een kort bezoek aan Oberhausen is dit een prima alternatief.

When we checked in; 1 agent checked us in while the other 2 just stared at us like we were aliens. One of them had a smirk on their face throughout my check-in, I wanted to ask what she thought was so funny with us checking into the hotel but I didn’t want to spoil the evening. They all started laughing when we left the checkin desk. Know that we are non-European. Very unwelcoming and unprofessional. I suggest cultural diversity training. The beds were disgusting! Small strips of hair all over the fitted sheet. The Most Disgusting was the pee stain on the sheets! The bed smelled like piss too. It was supposed to be non-smoking but someone had been smoking in the room or the insulation/vent systems need more work. I didn’t want to deal with the unprofessional front desk staff so I suffered through the uncleanliness and just put 2 towels on top of the duvet just to feel at ease sleeping, even though we were only there for one night…Thank God I didn’t book for longer. The only positive was breakfast; it was adequate for 1 night stay. Definitely won’t be spending another dime here.

로비에 자판기가 있고, 역 안에 dm이나 물을 살 곳이 있어서 너무 편리했음. 그리고 병따개가 있어서 맥주 마실 때 편했음... 드라이기도 잘 작동되고 이 호텔에 머무르는 동안은 계속 좋았던 것 같음. 객실도 사진과 똑같음.
