Fabulous service, lovely setting but some areas to improve. We had a lovely beach villa 205 and the setting was super with a great view and very secluded. The villa was comfortable and spacious. Island is the smaller of two joined by a 1.5km bridge. It is the better of the two, if you like a more intimate affair. The positives. Staff are all polite and helpful. The standouts were found in the beach bar / sunset grill Ramesh and Rasal were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Ramesh is the manager I believe of this section and is super professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Rasal was very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Both had to cover for the lack of experience of others. The star of this area was Arjuna . He made our time at the sunset grill very special. Very attentive, professional and we felt special. But he is let down somewhat by the quality or experience of the team there Meaning he had to cover for others. But he is a real credit to this organisation and should be recognised for his talent in hospitality. Thank you. Now some areas we think can be improved. Apart for the sunset grill where you can have a sunset drink, provided you have a table booked to eat (staff did bend the rules.. thanks)… there is no where else to sit outside and have a drink. The library bar area seems a missed opportunity to do something different. Cartoons on the tv don’t lend to a relaxing location. The dining room has a nice setting on the sea but it felt a little soulless. To be honest having the same menu as the sunset grill was a disappointment. Maybe this could be a better a la carte restaurant. French restaurant at the end of the pier was a nice idea but the wind direction unfortunately made it less special. Mother Nature to blame. However the menu was more international and less French. To be honest the meal we had was average. The burrata starter was pretty tasteless. Unfortunate. Sunset grill BBQ evening. If you are on bed and breakfast. I would avoid. $220 for food only which wasn’t particularly special. The Clarins spa offered a great massage and facial. But with tax and service charges on top it was expensive at over $450 for a couple. It just seemed that there were some areas that could be improved. We did have a relaxing time. But the staff I mention above really made the difference. One last point. The house lagoon is pretty devoid of life from what we saw. There are other islands with better wildlife in the lagoon / reef.
