My reviews are usually very appreciative, however this one won’t for we have been completely disappointed and scammed. We chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding at its esplanade given the beautiful view. We started fully detailed written communication with the hotel management in April 2024 and had multiple meetings with the GM, based on which he made us a written proposal and breakdown of costs, to which we budgeted for. Everything was confirmed and we started doing the necessary payments. 3 days before our wedding, we requested to have a meeting with the GM, with whom we liaised for the whole, to go through the final items and ensure everything is in order. Unfortunately, he informed us that he wouldn’t be available and to meet Ashvin the F&B Manager instead. Upon meeting Ashvin, the first thing he told us is that we should be quick because he doesn’t have much time. We requested for a meeting, it is the duty of the person attending to make his time available and not tell us to be quick. Furthermore, as we started going through the details, Ashvin stops us and say that he was never informed that there would have been a wedding ceremony and that he was only aware of a reception. He kept insisting that we didn’t mention this in our written communications. When we showed him otherwise, he’d then say that it’s only 2 months that he joined and it was somebody else using his email before. A lame excuse for someone who didn’t do his homework before a meeting. After the meeting, we called the GM who told us not to worry, that everything will be taken care of. To our surprise, the GM contacts my wife 2 days prior to our wedding to inform that we will need to incur additional costs because he got confused before. We were shocked for we didn’t budget this additional amount, especially 2 days prior to our wedding. Fortunately, we received help from our family to incur these costs. Again, to our surprise, the GM contacts my wife 1 day prior to our wedding to inform that we again need to incur larger additional costs, because even though his proposal clearly mentioned that cocktails and snacks are included, he was now saying that they wouldn’t be, again because he was confused, that he wasn’t very present at his job and all sorts of unprofessional excuses. To me it seems that the GM, boasting 35 years of experience in the field, is rather a professional conman than a professional in the hotel industry. He waited until only a few days before our wedding to trap us in a fait accompli and force us to pay additional costs. On the wedding day, my esteemed family checks in. They were greeted by an arrogant lady who spoke to them as if they were criminals checking in into prison. Even though we were told by email that all guests would get early check in, only a few rooms were available for early check in. When we arrived in the morning, we were told that our honeymoon suit was being decorated and it was mentioned by email that we would receiv
