Single father, 2 kids -girl and boy ages 13 and 15. Limited income. Travel on a budget. Booked 4 days in the penthouse. Was moved to the Newport room due to issues in the penthouse. We have stayed at the Sun Deck Inn 5 times in the last 8 years. We loved the old owners. They cared and did everything to make your stay great. The new owners are non existent. Checked in and immediately notified them that the air conditioner in the bed room didn’t work. The next day the cleaner flipped some breakers. The air conditioner turned on, didn’t blow any cold air out and leaked water all over the floor. Cleaner stated the air conditioners on this side of the building aren’t working. 4 days, 95 degree days no air in the bedroom. Found out we had no hot water the first night and notified them. Last day of our stay 8 am someone came and repaired water heater. 4 days no air 3 days no hot water. Parking. Don’t understand why they don’t issue parking passes. They don’t have enough spaces for the amount of rooms they have. If only half the rooms are rented there should be enough spaces. People staying at the hotel across the street can park in the sun deck lot. No issues. If your staying at the sun deck and can’t get a space it’s 5 per hour parking a block down the street. The deck part of the hotel cannot be safe. You walk around and feel like your gonna go through the floor. The boards are old and falling apart. This used to be our favorite place now it’s like a Crappy Airbnb. If the owner went on vacation and stayed at a hotel for 4 days with no air and 3 with no hot water I think they would ask for a refund full or partial. I asked for a partial refund. I didn’t get one. There are too many other places to stay. We are done with this place. If u have to get a hold of the owners your gonna have to call and call and call. If u ask for a refund they will tell u no within minutes.
