Hotel 3 Bintang di Frankston

Rooms are $200+ a night at the moment for a very basic motel room below a pub.... In Frankston... You can get decent rooms in the Melbourne CBD for that price. Rooms have been renovated in the past few years which is nice but grouting in the bathroom isn't clean and is getting scungy. Outlook from window is over the carpark and a muddy river - no privacy if you want to leave the blinds open to let natural light in. The noise coming into the rooms is terrible - can hear everything going on in the corridor and everything happening in the carpark. Even worse is the constant scraping noise from chairs on the ceiling in the pub above (though this seems to mostly stop by about 10pm). Missing some of the little details such as only one towel and 1 drink for a two person/two bed room. Beds are firm but comfortable. On the plus side - location is fantastic if you need to be in Frankston - short walk to beach, loads of pubs, food options and shops just across the road. Free parking is plentiful (but not secure at all), free minibar is a nice touch and room service from pub upstairs is useful. Probably wouldn't consider staying here again unless the prices are lowered. Totally ok for a one night visit, if you can deal with the noise.

I shared a room here with my brother when we attended a wedding on the Peninsula. The motel was easy enough to find. I'd looked it up on the map before heading there. I kept an eye out on the left, heading east, just after Maccas, and the large sign was easy to spot from the highway. Check in was easy. The room was spacious and, if not freshly painted, was in reasonably good nick. There was a large table with chairs, a large tv mounted above it on the wall, a microwave on the bench next to the sink and, in the cupboard underneath there was a toaster, a kettle, some cups and utensils, etc. There were four tumbers and martini glasses chilling in the bar fridge. There were two double beds, the one I slept in was comfy, and a full length mirror on the door of the small wardrobe. The bathroom was also spacious. The pool looked wall maintained but I didn't use it. Neither did my brother.

Very disappointed in the overall condition of the apartment. We tend to stay in apartments so we can cook our meals. The dishes were not washed - 2 of the four burners were not working. So many issues not worth raising and simply why I didn’t raise them was that these issues are clearly easy issues to notice/fix if they had a good maintenance person. But it’s neglected and with so many issues I could only imagine the person they would have sent to us. So we just sucked it up. The paper thin walls in the bedroom to the next apartment was unbelievable though. Almost like an after thought wall/door. No insulation at all. No fan in a bathroom dryer falling off wall!! Etc etc etc

Apartment was clean, spacious with great views over the water. Good position for some relaxing and scenic coastal walks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The motel is close to shopping and some good restaurants. Having Dan Murphy's next door was an added convenience.
