Location was good as is just a 10 min walk to downtown. As a frequent traveler, I don't consider the hotel 5-star rated hotel. It's ok for a 4-star, but not 5. Doesn't meet a 5-star standard in several things. For example, if you are driving, parking is a little bit an hassle as you have to change from one building to another. Breakfast was good but not 5-star breakfast. Lack of warm breakfast dishes and pastries. Windows in the room not sound proof. Woke up severals times during night time as you could hear the noise from the Garbage truck. When you take a shower, leaks water towards the hand sink area. Pillows, not match a 5-star standard either. Was ok, but not great!

We stayed here for a few nights last week. The hotel is centrally located and this is why we picked it. The rooms are clean and the hotel is nicely furnished. The pool area is nice with amazing views. I am giving only two stars because of the condescending attitude of some of the front desk staff. One was downright rude upon checkout. Some training on kindness would be helpful for future guests.

Das Hotel Next in Funchal auf Madeira überzeugt durch seine ausgezeichnete Lage direkt am Wasser. Die Zimmer, obwohl geräumig, neigen dazu, aufgrund ihrer Dunkelheit eine etwas gedämpfte Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Trotzdem punktet das Hotel mit komfortablen Betten, moderner Einrichtung und ansprechenden Badezimmern. Das Frühstück, serviert in einer Art Kantine, weist eine begrenzte Auswahl auf und die Qualität könnte verbessert werden. Ein Highlight ist jedoch der Beach Club am Wasser, der, obwohl ohne Strand, mit einem Pool und direktem Zugang zum Meer über einen Steg positiv hervorsticht.

Everything was fantastic, hotel location, services and design of the hotel. I enjoyed the 2 nights there. Unfortunately the welcoming was not good for me as I waited for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Yes I came early before the check in time which is 2 Pm and I came at 11:50 and the front deck staff ( Eduard ) confirm to me that my room will be ready at 2 pm but till 3:10 pm only I got to my room after I esclate my issue to the front deck manager ( Peter ), the problem was not about the time I lost, but the attitude of front deck staff as he is looking to my face multiple times and he didn’t come to say sorry that your room not yet ready just to apologizing…

Old world style amd glamour . The view from the room alone was worth the price. All the staff were so helpful. Tony on reception showed us to our room and gave us the hotel history and explained the room to us. The breakfast staff especially were so helpful professional and friendly. The experience of staying in the hotel is like living in an Agatha Christie novel. I kept expecting to see Hercule Poirot walking through the public areas

Location is great. Housekeeping excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. My bed was comfortable but my husband's bed was not (can feel the springs). The hall carpets very dirty. Lack of staff. Poor customer service at reception. The process was not explained for the pool towels and the parking card. We did not receive pool and parking cards in our envelope. The roof top pool is very nice. No staff there though. No bar men available. It is extremely hot and there's no shade provided. We asked for umbrellas but were told they don't do that in October even though it was mid 30s!! It was too hot to be there without shades!! The neighbouring hotel had umbrellas. With staff attendants always present. The wall plant, at the pool, was knocked over and soil was left on the pool deck. The soil spillage was still there 3 days later. Breakfast is included. It has a lot of variety. Cold foods great (fruit, breads, cakes, cheeses) but hot food was a low rating (eggs tasteless, bacon and pancakes sit too long and are hard),

Muffe kamer aan achterkant van hotel. Lawaai van straatverkeer en airco winkelcentrum is storend. Kamers aan poolside zijn beter. Slechte ventilatie in badkamer. Ontbijt in buffetvorm is ok. Parking in naastliggende publieke parking is goed. Alleen staat dit nergens beschreven en is voor nieuwe gasten wat zoekwerk.

The hotel is very beautiful, and great location, BREAKFAST IS AMAZING - and the staff is very hospitable. Rodrigo on reception was very helpful-however we had builders outside our room, which was a bit annoying as you couldn’t go on the terrace. We called Tripp and they were very helpful.

BBb.88Overall great stay and we'll likely be back next time we visit Madeira.
Great location close to lots of restaurants and bars, and bus stops. It's not too far to walk to the city center and there's lots to see on the way there, too.
The rooms were clean, shampoo etc. was provided and there were even extra blankets which we were very grateful for as it can be chilly at night.
What we did not enjoy that much was the breakfast, as both restaurants serve about the same food and it was the same every morning. The taste was ok but we probably won't add breakfast the next time we stay, or not for all days.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, however, the hotel appeared to be understaffed, meaning we'd have to wait quite a bit to receive service, e.g., at the reception, and staff seemed stressed at times.

EElia KazakovОтличный большой отель. Много немецких пенсионеров. Очень хорошее местоположение - на берегу океана, рядом большой торговый центр Форум и пляж Формоза. На 1 или 2 автобусе дорога до центра Фуншала занимает 12 минут.
Завтраки очень разнообразные, но очереди за кофе после 8 утра. Проходят на этаже с потрясающим видом на океан, можно сидеть на улице.
Не понравились бассейны - с красивым видом, но неглубокие, везде воды по пояс. Только для детей. Кондиционер работает только на охлаждение - в номере было холодно.

PParviz891Two weeks ago we visited Royal Savoy. We were there for a week. POSITIVES: This is nice hotel, good location, good food and attentive and polite staff. We had junior ground floor room. A bit tired but it was fine. We traveled with Jet2. They had told the hotel about our wedding anniversary. To our surprise we received a bottle bubbly in the room with the compliments of the hotel. This was organised by one the mangers called Costa ( really nice chap). We had a glass each but since it was dinner time, we took it to the restaurant. But one of restaurant manager called Chefe Luis ( see the photo) would not allow us to take it to our table. Even though I explained it was given by the hotel. He would not have. So he ruined our nice. So I told them to put it in the bin. Next day I told Costa, he told it is company policy that you can’t take drink from our area of the hotel to another. But said under the circumstances he should allowed us. And sincerely apologised. NEGATIVES: This hotel operates a timeshare. Over 80% of their clients having been coming for over 10 years. The problem isn’t that. The problem is the most of our guests are very old. You hardly see any young couples. And their night live entertainment are geared towards them. If that doesn’t bother you, you should be fine. Even though we are in late 60s, we still like a bit lively hotel. Funchal itself hasn’t much to offer. And there isn’t much in the surrounding areas ( within an reasonable distance). We would never go back to this resort.

PPengguna TetamuWhat a fantastic experience This hotel was perfect The wait staff were friendly, engaging and entertaining The front desk staff were above and beyond with assistance, from booking excursions, restaurants or taxis - they were wonderful The rooms were gorgeous We booked a one bedroom suite, which had an enormous wrapped balcony overlooking the ocean - the only complaint was the bed is quite firm, but many people like this. A small kitchen for drinks etc The spa and massages were 5* without exaggeration This has become one of our favourite hotels We will definitely be back We will definitely be back

We arrived late evening and very tired but received a very warm welcome and equally welcome glass of wine. The gentleman on reception even brought our cases to our room, which was very large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Everything was spotlessly clean. We stayed 10 nights and bedding and towels were constantly changed by a very smiley and hard working member of housekeeping. All staff were friendly and helpful. We only had bed and breakfast but what a treat eating outside overlooking the sea. Food choice at breakfast was excellent and constantly being replenished. Waiters friendly and efficient. Pool area was lovely with nice views and surrounded by palm trees. Saving of sun beds not allowed so all very relaxed. Very clean and tidy. Music some evenings but nothing to disturb other guests. For a largish hotel it still had a very personal feeling. Delilia the customer relations manager was extremely helpful, answering queries and booking restaurants. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance of tge hotel. Noticed guests with mobility scooters and walking sticks so good to know all people are catered for. Bus stop just outside hotel so apart from walking into Funchal there is good transport available. We loved our stay here.

We have recently returned from a week at the Vidamar resort hotel in Madeira. Stayed 21/9/24 to 28/0924. After reading very mixed reviews, we were unsure what to expect! On arrival, we were greeted at the door by a member of staff and warmly welcomed to the hotel. Unfortunately, despite booking an early check in our room was not ready, however we went to the restaurant down by the outdoor pools and had a lovely lunch with a complimentary drink. We got into our rooms just after 2pm and they did not disappoint! We had rooms on the 6th floor with complimentary wine and water in the room. The rooms are very spacious with a large en-suite bathroom, a huge double bed, seating area and balcony overlooking the sea! (This was the superior room) Tea and coffee making facilities provided! The rooms although tired looking in places, were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed! (Safe, hair dryer, tv etc) Towels were provided along with pool towels that you exchanged daily! There was an indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room free to use and a spa area with pools, hot tub, steam and sauna rooms that we had 2 complimentary passes for. The breakfast and dinner buffet was amazing, huge choice of food with something different every day! Sometimes the hot food could have been a bit hotter in temperature but no real complaints! The Portuguese restaurant and Italian were also excellent! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! The bar had entertainment most evenings ! Centre of Funchal walking distance but can also buy daily bus ticket from reception for €5! We had a wonderful week and would definitely return! Thank you Vidanar

DDiogo JohnSimplesmente maravilhoso, um atendimento excelente na recepção, o café da manhã estava muito delicioso, sem contar que no dia de voltarmos, como teríamos um voo super cedo, o hotel deixou um cafezinho antecipado especialmente para quando iríamos sair. Da próxima não terei dúvidas de onde repousar novamente. Parabéns a todos do hotel.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is in Lido area with plenty of restaurants and small super markets near by. Only 3 mins walk to bus top where can bring you to City Center €1.95 single one way and airport. €5 single one way, €8 return. Walking to City center is about 20-30mins. Only 10mins walk to Forum Madeira shopping mall. Breakfast is good with many choices of fruit, salad, yogurt, ham, eggs, bread, cereals. Indoor, outdoor pool and gym are nice too. We stay in sea and swimming pool view studio with kitchenette. The balcony is wonderful.
Staffs are polite and patient. Only one con, no air conditioning in 31 degrees. Only have a ceiling fan.

Nice entertainer couple! Good dancers! Excellent teachers having lovely dancing skills! Also a great team with activities for children. Concerning the hotel, it is a nice place to stay on 31st december and choose the opportunity to view the fireworks show in Madeira Island!
