Meliá Durrës Albania

Melia Durrës is my new favourite hotel! The whole experience is luxurious. The resort itself is HUGE, the rooms are beautiful (the bath was my favourite part!), the swimming pools are amazing, the spa is divine, the restaurants are all out of this world, the staff are so kind and sweet - everything about this place is 5 stars. Gisela in particular made our stay even more special - she was so helpful, friendly and welcoming. She helped us so much and made our stay at this beautiful hotel even more lovely.

Brikena is hands down the best! I had an amazing time at sport bar, and it was my favourite place, all thanks to her. She makes the best cocktails and brings such a positive, welcoming vibe. She’s friendly and attentive to everyone. Can’t wait to go back!

Indrit made the best cocktails I ever had! He is a very friendly barman! Thank you Indrit a lot! The food is excellent! We enjoyed every moment! The personel is very friendly and does everything to make your holiday unforgettable. I recommend this hotel!

Sport bar was fire, at all times. all staff were good. 1 bartender called Brikena was always nice and attentive served us drink all the time. Will definitely come back.She is always smiling and making sure we are okay. thank you for good customer service.

We spent 10 days at the Melia Durres for our Honeymoon and had the most amazing time. I was concerned earlier in the year after reading some very negative reviews but I need not have worried as we were extremely pleased with the whole experience. My review is written as an honest account of our experience and I hope that it may help you decide to book your holiday. Transfers/Check In I contacted the reception via email prior to our stay to discuss transfer options and they recommended Lux Taxi Service and said that they could make the arrangements for us, we would be met at the airport and it would cost 29 Euros or 2900 Albanian Lek (which you can only get in Albania) The whole process was extremely smooth, our driver was waiting for us and showed us to the car in the carpark just outside the airport. The car was immaculate and the journey took about 45 minutes, getting out of the airport traffic took about 10 minutes of that. It was a lovely journey showing different aspects/buildings/countryside which we enjoyed looking at. The meter came to about 38 Euros, we had put aside 40 Euros for the driver after the hotels quote so unfortunately cut the drivers tip right down - the price was the same on the return journey too so please keep this in mind. As stated by others, correctly, this Hotel is situated tucked out of the way on the San Pietro coast and only has a handful of restaurants etc within a 20 minute or so walk from the hotel but they aren't grouped together. We didn't leave the hotel complex whilst we were but the hotel is surrounded by pretty woodland which makes walking around the complex boundaries very enjoyable. The Hotel complex itself is pretty big and I would say that it would take you 20/30 minutes to walk from the car park entrance to the seas edge on the private beach. Check In was very smooth and professional, after it was discovered that we were Level guest we were then taken around the corner into The Level Check In where we were offered comfy chairs and refreshments. The whole reception area is absolutely beautiful with many flowers and different seating options - if fact throughout the hotel you will find lots of different seating options and the hotel WIFI worked perfectly in every area, including the beach. Room We had booked a Junior Suite as it was our Honeymoon and it really didn't disappoint. I was a huge space with a separate large bathroom area with dual basins, separate toilet, separate walk in shower and large free standing bath. The toiletries were good, large bottles that didn't need refilling in our 10 days and we both used them at least once a day. The room contained a huge bed which was extremely comfy and the linen was just perfect, clean and soft. There was a comfy sofa. refreshment station containing coffee, tea etc (no milk but we asked for some in the restaurant) a mini fridge with soft drinks, still and sparkling water and complimentary spirits - the spirits/tea/coffee was only topped up once but the
