Well the location is amazing!! You can walk anywhere from the hotel which is a bonus but you pay for that bonus too. It is expensive to stay here, the rooms are large and basically bare. Clean and only one pillow per person. To walk to the room took some time due to the largeness of the corridors - sometimes you think you need a map! Beds were ok, not the best not the worse! Buffet breakfast was very good, lots of options and good quality. Probably wouldn’t stay again would look around for a smaller more personable hotel. The underground parking under the hotel has limited, very limited parking in an extremely tight carpark took multiple turns to even get in! Would not recommend that but near the information centre there is a large well lit multi storey parking garage and open 24/7 and wasn’t expensive! The town is beautiful and well worth the visit.

Quiet location a pleasant walk from the town centre near a lake and walks. Very friendly, helpful staff and a great buffet breakfast.Cosy and very clean bedroom. We'd definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Das Haus liegt unmittelbar an der B17. Parkplätze für Hausgäste sind vorhanden, allerdings kann es zu den Öffnungszeiten ”eng” werden. Die Zimmersind sauber und gut eingerichtet. Im Sanitärbereich sollte allerding zeitnah saniert werden da hier die Duschverkleidung sowie die Wasserhähne etc. stark reparaturbedürftig sind. Im unteren Bereich der Dusche machte sich Schwarzschimmel breit Das Frühstück war übersichtlich aber ausreichend. Die Speisen wurden zügig nachgelegt. Das Housekeeping war perfekt, ein Lob an dieser Stelle. Auch für das Speisen im Gastraum ein großes Lob, hier stimmt Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt.

An easy seven-minute walk from the train station is the comfortable and delightful Hotel Sonne Fussen. You will have to cross a two-lane road, but there are crosswalks at either end. There are actually two entrances. If you go to the right-side facing Sonne, there is a convenient door entering the hotel. The other door is on the people street of Reichenstrasse. In between the entrances are several smaller stores. There is a convenient parking garage in the lower floor. There is a room where you do have access to a washing machine and dryer found in the garage area. The reception staff, like the hotel, are friendly and accommodating. Don’t forget to ask for your “Fussen Card” which will give you a free bus ride up to Neuschwanstein and back. The busses are right by the train station. Our room was indeed very clean and pleasant. We had a balcony room facing the mountains. The only downside was the lack of privacy to one side. The balcony is nice though and we did use it The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was large enough. We did like the soft-carpet in the room. By the desk was a large picture of the library museum that was once in a Benedictine monastery and later became City Hall. If you have time, visiting that museum is well worth the money and time. Our two days at Sonne’s we elected not to have our room cleaned. A box of towels was kindly left at our front door. Sonne’s was the only hotel to do this in our month long journey through Bavaria. The hotel is decorated with interesting pieces of art. Some of the pieces could be in a movie. Breakfast is a highlight. The staff takes superb effort to make your breakfast most enjoyable. There are all sorts of items to choose from. You will not starve. I did like the sausages and croissants. Most people, if not all, come to Fussen for the castle. We found the village of Fussen to be a delight. Besides the monastery museum, there is Hohes castle close by and a doable walk to Lechfall. An Aldi’s is just down the street. We found walking the people streets brought real character to Fussen. We did enjoy the hotel’s restaurant for one meal. On a side street is a superb Asian restaurant called ‘Thuy Golden Stabchen.” They had the best shrimp. Excellent petit hôtel familial en bord de route et à 2 minutes en voiture des châteaux. Au Check in on nous a donné une guestcard qui permet de prendre le bus gratuitement et d’avoir un rabais pour les tickets des châteaux. Les chambres communicantes que nous avons eues ont été absolument parfaites, les enfants ont eu des vrais lits confortables et nous aussi un grand lit avec une literie impeccable. Beaucoup de rangements aussi et salle de bains grande avec une belle douche et des WC séparés. Nous avons aussi pu charger notre voiture pour 50 cts du kw, devant l’hôtel : très pratique. Petit déjeuner très complet, une dame prépare des œufs comme on les veut ! Je recommande vraiment.
