Great hotel, the company has a lot of hotel like this, the are clean, the food are so good.

We stayed in nice hotels on this trip. This was the best of the best. It is located near a tiny hamlet called Johannesburg which is near the Rhine River. Town does have a couple of restaurants and also a bank with an ATM machine. There is also a Shell station very close to the hotel. Located on a beautiful vineyard. Hotel is spacious, relaxing, tranquil. It is a modern two story structure. One drives through a gated entrance (no guards, left open). Parking surrounds the hotel and is easy. Next to the parking is a building housing two restaurants that have incorporated the remains of a 19th century pseudo castle. Room was very large, elegant, modern. Bathroom also large and modern. Bed was comfortable but the cot they brought in was torture. Window faced the front of the hotel. We could see the 'castle', vineyard. Hotel staff were very nice. Provided us with gifts of wine and other amenities. I had concerns booking this. We wanted to spend several days seeing the Rhine river castles and I was worried it was too far from that. Adding to my concern was that it was only 35 minutes to drive to Frankfurt airport. So I thought this was out of the way. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was a great base for exploring the best parts of the Rhine. Drive along the river was pictureque and we could easily reach what we wanted to see in a short time. The hotel is located on a slope rising above the river. Driving downhill through the small town brought us to the river's edge. There is a car ferry that runs frequently taking one to the other side so we did that one day. Another day we drove the highway on our side of the river. Both were great drives. Getting to the airport on our last day was quick and easy (helped that it was Sunday when everything is closed). FYI - for those with a rental car you can fill up at the airport just as you get to the rental return/departure area.

Nothing to complain about the room size and equipment. The breakfast is also good and especially the view from the breakfast room is hard to beat. Would also comeback for a romantic getaway. Nice winemakers are also close by. If it wasn’t for the price I would warmly recommend this to everyone

Stunning place. Excellent staff, cuisine, location and hideaway. Highly recommended if you would like to visit the German Rheingau wine region. Close to the Rhein river overlooking a splendid panorama. Rooms fully equipped with all you need, quite and super interior. Hotel bar, parking in front of the building including E charger in case your needs electricity. Massive shout-out to the staff. We felt every second welcome. Really like a second home 👍👏👏👏

Wunderschön und idyllisch in den Weinbergen über dem Rheintal gelegen. Tolle Architektur und Einrichtung. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, Laufstrecken, Radtouren.. sowie Sightseeing im Rheingau. Das Zimmer war schön, gut durchdacht und hatte einen großem Balkon; der Service professionell freundlich; meines Erachtens etwas nachlässig und nicht unbedingt herzlich. Das Frühstück hatte eine gute Auswahl; etwas irritiert hat mich, dass am Büffet die bereitstehenden Brotkörbchen für das Brot/die Semmeln noch die Brösel des/der Vortage/s enthielten Das Hotel selbst hat keinen Fitness- und/oder Spabereich. Hier kann man die Fitnessstudios der Umgebung auf Tagestickets usw. anfragen. Ansonsten bietet die perfekte Lage in den Weinbergen Wanderungen: Laufrunden, Radtouren... in schönster Natur.

Wer mit einer Burg dunkle Mauern, kleine Fenster und düstere Kemenaten assoziiert, ist hier falsch. Die Burg Schwarzenstein thront in Alleinlage oberhalb des Rheins, inmitten von Weinbergen. Es fächelt stets ein leichter Wind, und auch das Ambiente im Hause, beginnend mit der großzügigen Lobby, bis hin zu den lichtdurchfluteten Zimmern atmet Frische und Weitläufigkeit. Überreste der ehemaligen Burg wurden ins Burgrestaurant integriert, aber auch dort blicken große Fenster über das Rheintal, und es herrschen lichte Töne vor. Kein Platz für finstere Rittergeschichten, sondern für bekennende Genießer.

Hotel Burg Schwarzenstein is prachtig gelegen midden tussen de wijnvelden in de Duitse wijnregio Rheingau. Het hotel bestaat uit 3 hoofdgebouwen. De moderne en up-to-date nieuwbouw waarin zich de meeste hotelkamers, conferentieruimten en lobby zich bevinden. Het moderne paviljoen met restaurant Müllers en de oude burcht met een beperkt aantal kamers en het (ontbijt)restaurant. De burcht is logischerwijs klassieker in stijl, maar oogt ook een beetje gedateerd en heeft wat achterstallig onderhoud. Een opfrisbeurt / modernisering zou hier op zijn plek zijn om mee te gaan in het hoge niveau van de rest van het hotel. De hotelkamers zijn erg mooi, ruim en luxe. De inrichting is stijlvol en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook de badkamer heeft dezelfde stijl en klasse! Ook de lobby is mooi en stijlvol. Jammer alleen dat de in de lobby gelegen bar een beetje amateuristisch wordt uitgebaat. Een drankenkaart ontbreekt, het personeel heeft geen drankenkennis, het assortiment is ondermaats en de presentatie is karig. Met een paar simpele aanpassingen en aandacht zou de mooie lobby en het luxe hotel ook een bar krijgen die recht doet aan zijn omgeving. Culinair zit je prima in dit hotel met 2 luxe restaurants die beide een uitgebreide a la carte voeren. Ook het ontbijt is heerlijk. Een uitgebreid en luxe buffet met veel keuze. Daarnaast nog een kleine menukaart met de mogelijkheid voor het bestellen van vers bereidde gerechten zoals, spiegelei, omelet en pannekoeken. De service en het personeel zijn zonder uitzondering vriendelijk en professioneel. De in en uitcheck gebeurd efficiënt! Kortom, wij hebben een prima en luxe verblijf gehad in dit hotel. Dat deze luxe ook zijn prijs heeft spreekt voor zich.

Wir haben hier mit Freunden einen Kurztrip verbracht. Vom freundlichem Empfang bei der Anreise bis zum Wasser für die Heimfahrt war es einfach klasse. Das neue Frühstück hat uns wirklich gut gefallen, nur die Omlettes sind irgendwie nicht das was wir unter einem Omlette verstehen. Das Frühstück war vor der Pandemie immer eine kleine Schwachstelle von Schwarzenstein, das ist nun Geschichte. Ein schöner Willkommensgruss wartete im Zimmer auf uns und Schwarzenstein schafft das, was viele Häuser vergessen haben: das man sich als Gast vollkommen willkommen fühlt. Toller Service auch beim Frühstück, offene, freundliche und wirklich gut gelaunte Mitarbeiter. Keineswegs steriler Service, sondern mit Spass. Das hat uns wirklich extrem gut gefallen!
