Delle Suites

One of the best places I've stayed in while traveling. I literally can't find anything wrong with this place. The room's perfect; the windows open to the view of the road, but it's so quiet and peaceful, and you're also greeted with the beautiful yellow bells just outside the windows. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Nang Yayang was very nice to us when we checked in. Also, the food! We had paksiw fish on our first morning here. Sobrang sarap! Tas tuna omelette on the second morning. Sarap! There's also hot shower, which was the icing on the cake. It's a quaint little place that feels like a home away from home. Will definitely come back here when we're back in town!

Pros: Conveniently located near the malls, restaurants, banks, and other shops. Just within the compound, you’ll find a convenience store, spa, salon, bank, and the hotel’s restaurant. Room amenities are basic- clean bed and pillows, hot and cold shower, etc. Towels are also clean. Cons: No provision of hair dryer, Wifi is not working!!! (which, for me is big deal because mobile signal is also poor in my room) Drain at the shower is terrible (this is the most problematic. I have to clean up the drain, I know, gross! I paid here to sleep but there I was, cleaning the drain at early morning!!!) Did I get the value for what I paid for? No. Hoping that the management will address these issues.
Microtel by Wyndham General Santos

I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Green Leaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. Summary: This was BY FAR the worst hotel of the 4. I wouldn't stay here again unless all the other nearby hotels and condos blew up simultaneously. Customer Service: The people were very friendly and accommodating. However, they lost one of my shirts (and a pair of socks) in the laundry and did nothing to take fault, reimburse me, or even apologize. Shower: The shower was flat out HORRIBLE. On the first day there was no hot water (which they tried to fix). The second day, the hot water was sporadic and literally switched from hot to cold every few seconds. The third day, there was limited pressure. And it continued like this the entire time I was there. Food: The breakfast tastes OK, but very limited choices. Basically pre-prepared egg (no live egg station), a single type of soup, a single type of rice (plain), one meat dish (which alternated), one other dish (which alternated), small quantities of fruit, bread, cereal. View: This is the ONE area where the Microtel was very good. They had a decent view out into their parking lot, which they have decorated/landscaped very nicely. Cleanliness: The floor and bathroom were clean. However, the beddings are old and stained. Also, there were tiny little bugs that were making their way into the room from the window-side! Beds: I got a room with two large beds. But as I said above, the beddings are old and stained. Also, the mattresses are not very comfortable. Air Conditioning: The AC unit worked fine and has a remote control. However, it blows directly over the beds which makes it uncomfortable to use while trying to sleep. Other hotels are not arranged like this... Pool: The Microtel has no pool. Gym: The Microtel has no gym. Value: The cost for a room here was close to what it cost at the Avior, and the quality is SO much worse here. AVOID this hotel unless you are getting an amazing deal! Anything past $30 (1,500P) per night is a waste of money for this place. We enjoyed our year end implementation review thanks to our dedicated and very attentive waiters, Edward & Mya. Due to their assistance, we were able to go with our program smoothly & without any issues. The ambiance is great , as well as the food. We love greenleaf and keep up the good service! Thanks again to Edward & Mya ❤️
Avior Hotel

This review is based on the premier room which is P4990/night. The room was basically OK with plenty of storage space and a big desk (but no spare power sockets anywhere near it). The sofa was torn in several places. The wifi was reliable but only about 8mbps. The king bed was actually 2 single beds with a ridge in the middle. The TV signal was bad and the picture kept breaking up. The room curtains don't shut out the light because the A/C unit is too big and gets in the way, and the windows are not double-glazed so the traffic noise is seriously loud. But the worst thing about the room was the bathroom, which was tiny and impractical. There are no spare shelves to put your toiletries, and the shower design causes water to flow all over the bathroom floor. To see the room service menu you have to scan a QR code, but the hotel's website is broken so that doesn't work and you have to get someone to bring the menu to your room. Breakfast was poor quality (pizza? really?) and the breakfast room doesn't seat enough people so you end up waiting around for a table. No fresh juices, only sugar-packed artificial stuff. I saw an espresso machine after breakfast but wasn't offered this choice when seated. Overall, the Avior is extremely disappointing (everything looks pretty but is very badly designed) and I won't use it again. It's definitely way, way overpriced. The premier room is worth maybe P2000/night, no more. I dread to think what the standard rooms are like.
Hotel Giorgio
4.3/543 Ulasan
I was expecting a double bed since that’s the room I booked. When I checked in my room, only 1 bed is fixed with mattress and the other one is not. But over all a decent stay for my overnight stay in gensan.
