Overall environment and vibes are good. The staff has great service. Older building and room can be dusty. The breakfast is average and could be better with this price. We ordered dinner and hida beef is great. The room has no shower room but the onsen is nice and clean.

Traveling with family, we booked three rooms and experienced two different room types. All the rooms were spacious and clean. The Japanese-style room had a charmingly small door. The mountain-view private onsen room had a translucent door, and the large window next to the private onsen had no curtains, which felt like a lack of privacy. Besides the onsen, the hotel also offers billiards, table tennis, and karaoke. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and breakfast was quite refined. There's a free shuttle bus to and from the station during the day. Overall, it was a pretty good stay.

Absolutely loved this relaxing getaway. The steak, oh my god, it was amazing! Strolling around the onsen street and its surroundings was so peaceful with hardly any crowds. I'll definitely come back. The hotel lobby's lounge area offers complimentary self-serve coffee and tea, and the retro ambiance is just delightful.

This place is fantastic! You can spend half a day just exploring the premises, and do not miss the outdoor onsens!

This might be the highest hot spring hotel in Gero. If you miss the shuttle, it's quite a walk uphill. The hotel is divided into the old wing and the new wing. The old wing has a lot of mosquitoes and poor soundproofing, while the new wing, though newer, lacks some of the old wing's charm. We stayed in the new wing with a private hot spring, but it was extremely small; the photos on Trip.com can be misleading.

A historical hotel is with 2 buildings. Our room with private onsen is excellent. The speed of serving dinner is too slow. We are not happy to be occupided in the dinning room over 1hour 45 minutes.

It is a good place to relax with your girlfriend. You can get a very nice experience there.

Magnificent stay at a natural onsen village. The most brilliant Ryokan you can imagine. Built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated, all locations inside are beautiful and Instagrammable. Spent an anniversary here with my wife and had the best impressions of the whole trip. The Kaiseki dinner was above our expectations. The waitress explained everything, and we got a true cultural experience.

I absolutely loved this hotel! It's located on a mountain, and the old building evokes the atmosphere of old Japan. The rooms in the old part have a stunning view of the city—you just want to sit and relax. The service is beyond praise, the food is delicious, and the hot springs are lovely. Great views and a spacious room.

For a hot spring hotel at this price point, the breakfast was a real letdown. However, the hotel itself is a cultural heritage building, which makes it well worth visiting. The open-air onsen was great. But seriously, I'm still amazed at how bad the breakfast was.

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, offering spectacular views. The pre-booked dinner was an amazing and delightful surprise!
