Hotel berhampiran Gonagala Sri Sudharmakara Piriwena, Gonagala

Плюсы отеля - очень неплохой завтрак, ужин. Шведский стол. Очень изобильный. Есть и морепродукты , и местная кухня. Очень вкусно. Также хочется отметить традиционное для сети Марриот качество постели. Спалось на нем прекрасно. Пляж в этом месте отличный. Можно спокойно купаться - волны не такие сильные. Всё очень живописно , если пройти налево и направо. Теперь о недостатках. К сожалению, их больше. Персонал очень не вежлив, чувствовалось, что тебе здесь не рады, делают одолжение. Наигранные улыбки. В день выезда чуть позже 12 на несколько минут персонал стал стучаться в дверь и требовать освободить номер. Разве это достойно такой сети отелей ? Когда попытался расплатиться на ресепшн картой Юнион Пэй, персонал сказал, что терминал для российских карт не работает. Хотя, в других местах и отелях на Шри-Ланке всё работало без проблем и удавалось оплатить везде. Такое поведение я объясняю неклиенториентированностью, что опять же, очень странно для отеля такой сети, как Марриот и для сервиса. Также я хочу отметить, что в этом отеле не оказалось ортопедических подушек или любых других подушек - при попытке узнать про эту возможность, мне грубо ответили , что других подушек нет и всё. В общем, за персонал, сервис и его отношение - жирный минус и плохая оценка

實在是一言難盡的體驗，怪不得也沒多少國人入住。 酒店屬於本地的連鎖酒店，雖然在攜程上打的是5星級，酒店牆壁貼滿tripadvisor sgs等認證，加上是bawa設計的遺作 但入住後實在強差人意 入住的時候剛好碰上小高峯，同時間好幾團旅遊團辦理入住，前台顯得有點手忙腳亂。所幸的護照行李等也沒有弄亂，安全的拿到房卡。 酒店面積有點大，前台所在的大樓實屬5🌟，bawa的功力放在50年前絕對是劃時代的作品。 但一離開酒店主樓，就彷彿去了另外一個酒店，年代感撲面而來。尤其是中間那草坪看着像prison yard。草坪毫無修飾，坑坑窪窪 邊上有幾衹野狗在遊蕩。 進入房間後不過不失，但與主樓相比最多就值個3🌟但由於非常接近海邊故住在二樓地面也會無緣無故泛潮。雖然酒店在2019完成翻新但房間的設施也非常不合邏輯。 整個房間衹有一個空出來的電源插座，其餘的都是插上了燈 燒水壺 電視等設備。天花燈的開關非常有趣，左邊床的開關控制右邊床的燈。 入住的時候也帶娃去了小童樂園，就是國內商場那種室內小童樂園但裏面的維護實在不敢恭維，最可怕的是連電箱蓋子打開也沒人管 如果放在老美早就給人控告賠錢 餐飲方面不算貴但口味不在線。不過有一説一這邊的服務員比較local貼地，可能因為酒店大多數都是本地客多。整個酒店白人亞洲人住下來吃早飯碰到的10個都不到。跟之前住的anatara有明顯區別，那邊可能歐美客户多，員工都習慣了什麼都tiptiptiptip，bentota這邊的比較真誠

Nice and clam environment. Delicious foods. Can recommended.

We stayed in the deluxe wing, which does not offer a good view of the ocean, for the price of the room. The hotel and its furniture looks dated, but the room was large and comfortable enough. The beach in front of the hotel is a public beach - there are touts standing just outside the hotel waiting to sell things.

We booked our holiday with Mercury holidays as an All Inclusive lite board basis (meals plus selected local alcoholic drinks). However, we discovered upon arrival that this was essentially Full Board Plus, a single drink with each meal and a few beers a day. Not much use if you don't drink beer. Thankfully our Mercury rep Ananda and the Hotel Manager Thilina were absolutely fabulous and managed to sort us out a deal that work for us. FYI wine is imported so not a local drink. All the staff were absolutely fabulous throughout our stay. The pool ”boy” the bar staff, the waiters, cooks etc, all brilliant. Friendly, attentive, engaging, helpful. Honestly cannot praise them enough. Rooms are basic, but with everything you need. Wardrobe shelves looked worn but they were clean and dust free. The fridge looked rather outdated, but it worked very well and even had a freezer section which we put some bottles of water in. The beds were very comfy, absolutely no complaints about them. Plus our son had a proper bed, not a sofa bed which is always a bonus. There was also very good air con in the room which was a welcome relief from the Sri Lankan heat. Shampoo and body wash are provided, along with bottles of water, tea, coffee and a kettle. Other than the water we didn't have any drinks in the room (except those brought back from the bar!). There is also a TV but we never used it so can't comment on it. The balcony was lovely with a clothes horse to hang your swim wear on. The rooms were cleaned daily. Meals were excellent, for a small restaurant there was a lot of choice each night. We never had a problem finding something we liked for the 10 nights we were there. My son loved the omelet station at breakfast, and the shredded bacon. Personally the deserts were my fav, but they did some amazing mains too. We tried a few local dishes and instantly needed glasses of water, our pallets are not that spice developed! Lunch was a 4 course meal which was far too much for us, particularly with the heat. The staff were fabulous though and let us just have a burger or something lighter. The hotel has two pools plus a small kids pool, which was primarily used for sunbathing in while we were there! There were clean and of a good depth with varying levels. All very warm due to the heat of the country. By the smaller pool were the steps onto the beach, these could do with some work and it felt safer to cut across the diving centre section to get to the beach. Also the brilliant idea of a small area of water to wash your sandy feet in as you come back from the beach, along with a shower. The beach is great, watch the waves depending upon the tides, but there is a clearly defined swimming area and next to it a defined area to explore the coral reef. We saw so many fish, but the delight was the sea turtles, a least a meter long swimming alongside you!! That experience was just amazing. Hotel is modern , fresh , well maintained . Perfect for a relaxing vacation with gym , excellent long pool , yoga , sports area . Access to the beach is private and peaceful. Food spread was lavish Nd tasty . Staff is very friendly Nd goes out of the way to help you . We enjoyed the wide spread of food for new years gala dinner . Bar has good choice of liquor. You can take a tuktuk from hotel lobby roam around to see local life . Go to kalatura rich look store or others for cheap but good quality daily wear clothes . Beach is little rough . Spending 5 nights with hotel was relaxing then we moved to bentota to enjoy the beach which is smooth Nd one of the best I have come across travelling world around . Special thank to Tusharri to ensure we had the best stay Nd the personal touch she provided and Mr Prasad Wijesyriya for maintaining the hotel so well . You can always see them around with a smile and ensuring all guests are happy checking on them . Key feature is the long swimming pool . We are staying at Taj bentota now but we found citrus much better with pool , rooms and pricing for quality .
