Hotel Granville dengan Sarapan

We usually stay in Ibis but for this trip we wanted an upgraded experience. A nice hotel, nice location, sea view, all rooms with balconies, all seemed very promising, planned to be one of the highlights of our Normandy trip. However. Booked on purpose a room with seaview (as opposed to city view), at a hefty surcharge. Upon arrival they gave us a room on ground floor (hotel is on a large hill). What a disappointment. The ”seaview” of our room actually was terrace view (terrace of the hotel). Through chairs, people, and salty terrace windows one could see some glimpse of the sea. All higher floors have a perfect free and full view at the sea, the boulevard promenade, and the beach. Upon our inquiry, the reception person said he could not do anything for us (a long-standing Accor member) as the rooms on the higher floors were said to be reserved... Very strange, never heard of a hotel where rooms are specifically reserved by room number or by floor. A very big disappointment, not worth the money, and also very disappointed by the reluctance of the staff to find a decent resolution. Therefore, a strong recommendation when making ”seaview” reservation at this hotel: do not accept groundfloor ”seaview” rooms. And then I will not further complain about various doubtful stains in carpet, the room windows not cleaned from the salty water (a misty view), and the average breakfast (more Ibis level than Mercure level). I offered the hotel staff to respond to my complaint, but never received any reaction.

J'ai loué une chambre pour quelques nuit pour mes parents et l'équipe de l'hôtel a été à l'écoute de mes demandes. La chambre était au calme et la propreté irréprochable. L'accueil a été très sympathique et personnalisé.

On arrival into the barrier restricted car park ( not free),We checked in and were immediately given a so called upgrade from an unfriendly receptionist. Reception is a tiny dark area down some steps from the car park. This room 211 was not the room we booked and was a family duplex,a dated room with small old wooden stairs overlooking the car park. It was also smelly and small. So we returned to reception and declined the so called upgrade and asked for the room we had paid and booked, through their website. What came to light was a ”we don't have it available ” so something else then,”a disabled room” was offered,no thanks just the room we have already paid for. After what seemed like an eternity a queue formed qnd eventually we were given a room of the same standard as we had booked.We overlooked our car and the road, great! No helpful information or even a simple courtesy for a messy start a scowling looking receptionist shooed us away. We were about to ask for a refund and go elsewhere this was a bad experience. Now the room quite simply we will never stay again. Any mention of a refurb is nonsense it isn't in the same condition as many other Ibis hotels that charge less. Small windows,pokey bathroom and sloppy pillows with dingy decor. One towel each,no hand towel,we were informed ”we don't do that here”. No bin in the room and a bathroom the same as a ferry boat with a poor shower. Breakfast was in a cramped room with tiny tables not well laid out or managed. It was barely functional with insufficient space for the number of guests. Breakfast included a very surly unpleasant unprofessional madam barking at guests and made it eventful for the wrong reasons. We packed up paid our parking,not free as listed this is misinformation and got out of the gloomy environment. The two stars are only for the reasonably comfortable bed and nothing else.
