This hotel is perfect for those arriving by train as right across the road from the main station, probably the closest hotel. Several places to eat and drink if arriving late as I was, though it's a decent walk to all the main sites, prob 1.5 km, but as it's so close to the station there are multiple tram and bus options. Didn't have breakfast there as was 19 EUR which is very expensive for a buffet breakfast. Rooms were nice and modern, although something very weird. My bed was vibrating, the same as you experience when there is music with a heavy bass underneath you. Fortunately there was another single bed in the room so I swapped and all was fine. I still can't explain it :) But would highly recommend if coming by train, especially when there for 24 hrs like I was, but if staying several days you may want to stay somewhere closer to the old town.

In Graz for a customer meeting and stayed in Grand Hotel Wiesler Graz for 3 nights (Jan 18 to Jan 21). Truly enjoyed this stay, Five Star for sure. The facility was built in 1909 (guessed from its WiFi password), yet the interior is very modern. The staff was very friendly and responsive, and the breakfast was the best we ever had in Europe. The hotel is in a premium location, with Tram #1, 4,6,7 connecting to the train station,

This hotel boasts a practical, prime location close to the old town centre of Graz (and, in our opinon, to some of the best breakfast spots in town, which is not a negligeable benefit). Their employees are not excruciatingly friendly but are nevertheless extremely competent and were even able to accommodate our request for a lower-floor suite. Their bedding is without a doubt the most comfortable that I have ever seen, and the rooms are spacious and imaginatively furnished. All in all, this is a wonderful hotel that I would warmly recommend to anyone who wishes to experience Graz in a quite luxurious light, especially when it comes to the price-performance ratio. There is just one quite peculiar issue that I think should be advertised more prominently: if you are taking a hot shower with the bathroom door open, the fire alarm will go off, and if/when it does, you will have to pay 500€ (as of November 2022) for the unnecessary visit by the fire brigade. I read this in the hotel leaflet, which is available in every room, but I don't think all guests read these booklets (I do, but I adore hotels and love sniffing around every amenity available in the room). Seeing as this was precisely what must have happened to one of the guests in the hotel when we were staying there (elevators were not working, the fire alarm light in the main lobby was blinking and there was a huge fire truck parked in front of the hotel), I think a more public warning would definitely not have gone amiss. Staying in this hotel was an extremely pleasant experience and a wonderful surprise. We didn't get the chance to try out their restaurant Der Steirer, but we did spend quite some time in their café (Kaffe Weitzer) - their warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce is nothing short of exquisite!

The interior design is outstanding, it truly feels like a place. Not all rooms are the same, but there are special rooms (for example the Archduke Maximillian room) which are incredible. The place is spotless clean, internet is very good, the bed and pillows are perfect. Location is in the main square of the old city, hard to find a better spot. Overall it feels like you are in the Sound of Music. Staff was great, especially Daniela Demmel who understands guest and their needs and immediately finds a solution for every need. Loved the experience and highly recommend the hotel.

Excellent hotel- very clean and accommodating. Added plus- right next to train station so VERY convenient!!! Staff very helpful with directions and breakfast was very nice also. 20 minutes or so walk to old town Graz - which is spectacular !!!

Ottima posizione, a pochi passi dall'opera. Splendido albergo, moderno e molto urban, con interni curati, colori caldi, staff gentile. Sono arrivato molto presto la mattina e mi hanno subito assegnato una stanza, senza sovrapprezzo. Attaccato alla reception si trova un bar con un ampia scelta di gin di tutti i paesi dove questa catena di alberghi è presente. La mia camera dava sulla piazza principale, di per sé assai trafficata, ma l'isolazione delle finestre è ottima e non si sente quasi niente. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo (ho pagato 120 euro). L'unico neo: la camera era piuttosto piccola. Ma pur sempre grande quanto basta

The hotel is in a great location, being an easy walk to many tourist attractions. Our superior room was of ample size, but had lots of unused space. The full length windows opened onto a faux balcony which offered views of the clock tower, the nearby square and interesting buildings. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. As a Titanium Discovery member, I was given a nice plate of cakes, a bottle of water and a room upgrade. Staff were friendly and efficient. Pre-stay emails were responded to promptly, questions answered and requests granted. Breakfast was fine with a good selection of cold cuts, bread and bakery items, juices, food warmers with the usual offerings plus eggs to order.

My family and I have been on travel for two months and stayed in 20 hotels. The Mercure Graz City is near the top of the list of our favorite hotels for this trip. From the service at check in through our check out, it was perfect. Great location, nice rooms, good breakfast, and convenient parking made this a ”we need to return to this hotel” event. I want to especially commend and thank Stoyan Yoroanov and Lily Nagy, front office, for their attention to detail and responsiveness.

Es ist ein kleines Hotel mit kleinen Zimmern. Perfekt für 1-2 Nächte, natürlich mit Frühstück, denn ohne Frühstück wäre es kein Genuss. Es ist kein Zufall, dass es sich um ein beliebtes Stadthotel handelt, denn von hier aus kann man buchstäblich in 10 Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum gehen.
