Hotel Quality Inn di Greensboro

It served us just fine.

I've stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites Airpark East for a number of years now, and it's become my preferred hotel in Greensboro. It's hardly the newest or most luxurious in town, but it does offer exceptional value for the money. It also offers distinctive public areas that are a refreshing change of pace from most modern hotels. My room was 113, which is an atrium-view room and one I've stayed in previously. The rooms were renovated a couple years ago and present a contemporary, yet tasteful appearance. My room was missing a TV remote initially, and it took a few tries to find a suitable replacement. A couple of the spare remotes at the front desk didn't work with the TV, and a couple others were universal remotes with limited functions. Once the remote issue got resolved, I didn't have any other issues with the room. Everything was clean and in good working order. All the amenities you'd expect in this class of hotel - microwave, refrigerator, flat screen TV, coffeemaker, free wi-fi, etc. are present and accounted for, so there's really no reason to spend more elsewhere. The hotel features an impressive two-story lobby area as well as a unique atrium space encompassing the indoor pool. Wear and tear is more evident in the atrium than in other parts of the hotel, and the space could be repurposed instead of being mostly empty space. The indoor pool was closed during my stay due to a mechanical issue, but from what I've heard, they may be close to resolving the problem and reopening it. Call ahead or check the Choice Hotels web site to verify the pool status. Breakfast selections were a bit limited compared to other Quality Inns, but were a step up from grab and go offerings. The staff was helpful and professional, with Scott assisting me with an early check-in and a couple different employees helping with the TV remote issue. The minor issues with the TV remote and pool are hardly enough to deter me from staying again, as this Quality Inn offers excellent value and great service in a well-kept, albeit older facility that still retains a unique character and charm. I try to make it to Greensboro at least once a year, and this hotel is at the top of my list for when I return.
