Guangzhou Beijing Road Pedestrian Street Yizhi Mercure Flagship Store

I chose the hotel due to the pictures and proximity of the Beijing road & Metro station. That did not disappoint. We stayed at this hotel 4 nights . The outside of the hotel is ugly & as it’s on a main road on a corner it’s difficult for taxis to park. The rooms are very pleasing to the eye , have modern interior and smart technology. BUT, when we checked in we were given our room key & directed to our room. The FIRST thing that hit us was the SMELL it was a sewer stench. We gave it an hour then asked to be moved. The next room was better for about 5 hours we sprayed perfume put disinfectant down the drain but the smell got stronger. After sleeping in the room one night we asked to move again , also the room did not smell like the sewers it had a damp smell. All the rooms do have humidifiers so we kept it on with the aircon which made it much move tolerable breaking fast is not aimed at the European traveller so expect a full on Asian noodles rice etc. No Halal options. So we had boiled egg & toast most morning s with fruit. They have washers & dryers if you need to wash clothes & staff can help with barcodes to start machines.

Hotel location was good. Room and beds were comfortable except that the shower area was not very clean. There were flies crawling and flying out from the drainage on the shower room floor. They congregated on the ceiling and flew overhead in the shower. Provided feedback to the hotel and they were quick to respond to clean and disinfect the shower, however they were unable to eradicate the problem immediately. They offered a change in room which we accepted. The replacement room also had flies coming the drainage, though they were only a handful compared to the almost hundred flies that appeared in the first room. If not for this unfortunate encounter, it would have a been a very pleasant stay.

A very nice hotel with friendly staffs support throughout the day. The rooms are clean, big, and equiped with high technologies that facilitate the stays. Highly recommended for all sorts of travellers to stay. It also have washing machines service for free for long stay traveller that needs to wash their clothes. Overall a very pleasant stay in this hotel, will stay again for the next visit.
