Elegant Hotel Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town Canton Tower

Beautiful accommodation. All the staff were very accommodating and very helpful. We are foreigners and all the staff was wonderful in helping us. One of the receptionist, Qing was especially lovely and extremely helpful with our stay. Such a delicious buffet and perfect spot with walking distance to so many restaurants and interesting places.

We stayed at 2 different type of room, 2 double beds with Tower view room and 1 large bed with tower view. I liked 1 large bed better as it’s more spacious. 1 large bed room with HUGE sofa right at the window which offers greater flexibility to either sleep with the tower or enjoy the view with tea making facilities. The hotel received taobao parcels, which staffs at Ground Floor will asisst to find your parcels for you. Staffs generally are friendly and helpful with great smiles. Nice location of the hotel as walking distance to many malls surrounding. We count down in hotel room facing the Canton Tower however no fireworks as per brief by hotel staffs.

Disappointing stay – not worth the price paid I booked Mehood Hotel in Guangzhou expecting a comfortable experience, but unfortunately it fell short in several areas. The room rate I paid was not cheap, yet the overall stay did not match the value. First, the bathroom amenities were a disappointment. Some reviews highlighted L’Occitane toiletries, but what I received was nowhere near that standard. This created a gap between expectation and reality. Second, I specifically requested a quiet room away from the lift. However, I was assigned exactly the type of room I did not want. This shows a lack of attention to guest preferences, especially when such requests are made in advance. Third, the smoke issue was unacceptable. There was heavy cigarette smell coming from the same floor, particularly at night. It affected the in-room air quality and comfort, and gave the impression that the hotel does not enforce non-smoking rules properly. Lastly, the service level from the crew needs improvement. For the price and positioning of this hotel, I expected attentive and proactive service. Instead, I felt that staff response and professionalism were below standard. Overall, I left with the impression that the stay was not worth the money paid. With more choices available in Guangzhou—especially around the same pricing—I would expect better room assignment, cleaner air environment, more accurate amenities, and higher service quality. I hope the hotel management will address these issues moving forward.

excellent location and Canton tower view, very nice and friendly counter staff, but it seens not newly decorated but still recommend to those family with kids.

Excellent location. Hotel room is clean and comfortable. A lot of shopping stores and restaurants surrounding. Excellent view to GZ tower and pearl river!
