Ulasan I am waiting for you in Guilin Youth Hostel (Liangjiang Sihu East-West Alley)

Highlight of my trip in China so far. Hostel was the best social vibe with a great host that really knows the city. He also has planned tours that (I think) he leads so if you come with no plans you’ll be taken care of. I only stayed one night and also loved the location (but also had a tough time finding it - asked the ladies around the corner and they helped). I’ll add it’s true no towels were provided for me so I had brought my own, and the bunk does not have a “fluffy” mattress yet I somehow slept perfectly well (but I’ve been in China for a while so maybe used to that type of bed already).

The room itself is as expected, it's clean and the bed is fine. You can wash your clothes and hang them behind the window. They are two washrooms available, shared among the three rooms on this floor. What was amazing was the hospitality and help of the host. They are some maps and indications in the common room. One day, some of the people wanted to go to a river and the boss drove us there with some friends and his family. Was an amazing day and had a lot of fun playing with locals

The place to stay in Guilin as a backpacker. An amazing place to stay overall. Due to my flight being delayed I came a day later than booked, and the host let me stay the full three days I booked anyway. The other guests that stayed at the hostel were equally nice; they took me sightseeing one day, to dinner, and were willing to communicate with me even though we didn't have a language in common.

Great little hostel, clean, cosy and social. In the perfect location right next to Guilin Central Square. It was a little difficult to find/ get in to the apartment! Just go up the steps to the second floor (see photos) and message the WeChat number on the door. If you don’t have wechat, there is also a bell you can ring. You can just ask at the nearby restaurant if you can’t find the steps. The owner also helped me book a great trip to the Li river which I highly recommend.

Steps away from a lively pedestrian only food street, plus walkable to many other city highlights. It was easy to take the bus from the northern train station to the city center, and then walk to the building. The apartment is spacious and nicely decorated. You access the apartment with a key code. It would help if the owner/manager provided photos of the building so it's easier to find. For foreigners, keep in mind the bathroom is a squat toilet but everything else is superb. One of my photos shows the white building which is where the apartment is located on the 2nd/3rd floor depending on your booking.

One of the most beautiful, clean and comfortable hostels in that price range. I also doubt that some more expensive sccomodations may have such nice interiors. A lot of beautiful and interesting things inside. Really usefull map of Guilin attractions. Clean bathroom, free shower gel and paper tissue. Located right in the center of the city. Railway station near, elephant hill near (but old man mountain is better, imho, also near). Buses near, boats near. I stayed in dosens of places in china. And this one is one of the best. *Beds are a little bit hard. This is fine for me.

Amazing hostel. Situated just outside the market street, with plenty of street food stands and restaurants at walking distance. Quiet during the night. The owner is very nice, friendly and helpful.

I definitely do not recommend this place at all: 1- When we arrived at the hostel there was no one at the reception (5:00 p.m.) and they didn't open the door for us. We had to ask the restaurant downstairs if he knew the owner and to call him, please. In the end, a girl who was staying at the hostel appeared and she opened the bedroom door for us with our room code. 2-We met with the owner at 9:30 p.m. to book an excursion for the next day (which is why we took this accommodation, since they offer this service), and he didn't show up. Therefore, we could not book the visit to the Longhi rice fields and we were left without seeing them. 3- The room was large, but the bed did not have a mattress. Since it was late and we were tired from the trip, we didn't go to another hotel. It becomes a reasonable hour and we would be gone. 4-During our stay no one has attended to us. That is, we don't even know who is responsible. 5- There were no shower towels, only 2 small hand towels, and we couldn't ask for towels because there was no one there. 6-It makes you feel totally abandoned and cheated. The person in charge could deny everything I say in the reply to this comment (just as he did with the other guest when he commented that there was no mattress on the bed), and I will not be able to answer him. But what I say is totally true. Still, it would be funny if this was the first and only time we had communication with each other. It is paradoxical. When you ask me what was the worst part of my 30-day stay in China, I will say, without hesitation, this place. If you are thinking of booking this accommodation, look for another one. I would never return.

Finding the place was very hard: no sign on the street, you actually have to go to the third floor of an anonymous building. The location is very good, extremely close to the night market (although our room was at a different address than the one written on Trip.com). The place was basic but functional. A big plus for us was having the washing machine available.

The hostels location is excellent, although a little difficult to find (up the stairwell just to the right of the courtyard passage, 3rd floor right side door). Location is within walking distance of the main scenic areas plus the nearby restaurants and street vendors are serving excellent food at a competitive price. The hostel is clean and comfortable. For the price it is excellent. The only downside was the attitude of the girls in reception who were a little unhelpful with the check in process (despite my efforts to communicate in Chinese). She pointed me in the direction of my bedroom (not to any specific bed) then later instructed me to contact the owner via WeChat with a passport copy. The owner however was helpful and responsive over WeChat and assisted with the queries I had. Overall a positive experience with only minor qualms. Would recommend!

The best experience in a hostel! I loved it! The staff is so friendly and are always willing to help, loved it! The decoration was nice and everything was so clean.

Well located. Big space. A bit cold during winter. Only problem for me was the squat toilet .

Nice, cosy place to stay in. The boss / manager is very friendly and helpful and it’s well-located. Had a rude shock when I checked into my dorm room and there was an almost naked dude sleeping in the adjoining bed. And it was 2 pm. Not the sort of thing I was expecting or happy to see, but it was no fault of the hostel or management! A bit hard to find the place so you’ll have to ask the staff of the restaurant nearest it for directions (it’s in a back alley).

Great location next to the main touristic area. It might be a little bit difficult to find the stairs going up to the white building where the hostel is located. Owner very friendly and helpful
