I stayed one night at the Open Village Sports Hotel & Spa Club, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had — even more shocking for a supposedly 4-star hotel. Upon arrival, I found the room in absolutely unacceptable condition: • Suspicious stains on the carpet, resembling dried blood; • Fridge full of rust and old dirt; • Shower handle visibly filthy and deteriorated; • Bathroom floor with hair present when I checked in. I felt so uncomfortable and disgusted that I couldn’t sleep and didn’t even take a shower. The room was unfit for guests. I immediately contacted hotel management, asked for a refund (€80), and was told the matter would be handled. Over 10 days later, I’ve received neither the refund nor any proof of payment. Despite multiple polite emails and opportunities to resolve the matter discreetly, the hotel stopped replying. I have since filed a formal complaint with the Portuguese Consumer Authority, reported the case to ASAE (the national food and economic safety authority), and am now sharing my experience here publicly. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. What is marketed as a 4-star experience does not meet even basic hygiene or customer service standards.
