We stayed here from the 10th to 12 august while visiting arnhem. The proximity to the mainline station and central shopping area is brilliant. Hotel is easy to find, check in was quick and very friendly and the hotel is in good condition. We got the double and the single room. The single is very sparse, shower, toilet and single bed with not much else, double room was much better with a bath, 2 large single beds and much more space. The breakfast in the mornings was very tasty with a large selection of cold meats, fruit, yogurts, cerea, bread and spreads. There was also bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages, which were very good. We intend to return here on our next trip to Arnhem

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very welcoming. The assistant manager Prosha really looked after us. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable the restaurant staff were very accommodating. Frederique looked after us well. The food was really good. I would highly recommend.

The sports theme is everywhere in this hotel and it's great to see, a nice change from all the anonymous hotels out there. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was fantastic and I would strongly recommend it if you're staying here, though there is a bit of a walk from the rooms to the restaurant. Parking very close to the hotel entrance outside was free, with plenty of space. The hotel appears to be in a calm and beautiful area. Unfortunately, the booked rooms did not match what we received when we arrived. Even though a suite was included in the booking - and pre-paid for - we only received normal twin rooms. Upon raising this with the front desk and asking for a partial refund they promised to get back to me via e-mail, which they never did. I raised the issue with the booking agent who also contacted the property, but they refused to refund the partial cost. I'm afraid this cast a shadow on an otherwise pleasant stay and I'm upset that the hotel was not be willing to compensate for their mistake, even just the cost difference.

The Van der Valk Hotel in Arnhem is very easy to reach from the Motorway and the room was clean and exactly what we asked for and then some. All members of staff were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. A special thank you to Roy who went out of his way and helped me to a late night snack. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious.

PPengguna TetamuHotel is perfect gelegen naast het Centraal Station en aan de rand van het winkelcentrum. In de lobby kun je werken en een kop gratis thee of koffie meenemen. Het personeel is jong en informeel. De kamers zijn niet groot, maar wel een goed bed en badkamer. Helaas troffen we de doodzonde aan voor iedere hotelkamer: een fles glijmiddel van vorige gasten onder het bed. Alhoewel de kamer niet vies was, is dit natuurlijk wel een aandachtspunt.

PPengguna TetamuJust a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity
