Hotel berhampiran Hainan University(Haidian Campus), Haikou

The rooms are new but The environment outside the rooms and lobby are not great. Problem is u must get past the old main building to get to the hotel lobby. So the entire ambience is ruined. The hotel lobby and amenities were good and new. But the lift interior from ground floor to the hotel lobby (level 8) were so old. Service stuff: v polite and tried their best to answer all questions. Front desk was prompt in attending to my requests. Unfortunately, it was a little harder to sleep through at times because the room was near the elevator (?). It sounded like pulley machines were operating around 5/6am. I really don’t know what it was. Overall, I would still give atour chain a chance since they seem to put in effort in terms of their amenities and keeping the room clean but I would lookout for one that is in a much better location and where the building is much newer. r

Novotel Hotel West Coast Haikou offers excellent service, with receptionists who are very supportive, professional, and welcoming. The staff are especially friendly and patient with kids and elderly guests, making everyone feel comfortable and well cared for. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained, providing a pleasant stay. All hotel facilities are kept clean and organized, reflecting high standards of hygiene. The hotel is in a great location near shopping malls, with plenty of eateries and dining options.

I want to take this opportunity to share that this hotel has excellent service that went above & beyond. On the day I was checking out of Sofitel in the morning & moving to another hotel, I realised that I was missing one of my earrings. I informed Jerry at Reception about this & he immediately informed Housekeeper to look for it & took the particulars of my next hotel so he could send my earring if found. Soon after, he texted me to say they were not successful but they will continue to search, and they did. In the afternoon, Jerry called to inform me that they did manage to find my earring in the shower stall, and will send it to my current hotel within the day. I really appreciate their efforts in taking the matter seriously & not giving up after the first unsuccessful search. This is not the first instance that Jerry gave excellent customer service. When I first checked in, I had arranged for some online purchases to be delivered to Sofitel in advance but as I didn't have a local number, the couriers were not able to contact me. Jerry helped to contact the couriers & the packages were sent to the hotel within that day. It really meant a lot to me to have such helpful & reliable assistance for a first time traveler to Haikou. Thank you, Jerry! I also want to compliment Sofitel's breakfast & the service team there. The spread is very wide, and being there for almost a week, I really appreciate that they change some of the items so you get variety. And the staff are very attentive & helpful. Not only did they remember my coffee preference, they always bring me to my favourite table where I can enjoy the wonderful view. All in all, Despite the fact that the mall next to the hotel is like a ghost town with empty shops, Sofitel Haikou is a wonderful hotel that I would recommend to travelers.

V clean room. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful during my stay especially when I have to extend the stay due to typhoon. The gong lue was also very useful. Good food around projector TV and smart toilet is a plus point. Awesome and will stay again if I visit again.

Every recommendation was a real treat, showcasing true VVIP bespoke butler-style service that made my trip even more special. I have traveled extensively across Asia, and I can confidently say that MOS Hotel Haikou holds a unique charm that is hard to find elsewhere. Moreover, during my stay, I was fortunate enough to participate in special edition events that showcased the island's vibrant culture and creativity. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and inspiration, making my visit even more memorable. As a film studio executive, I can say with certainty that MOS Hotel Haikou exceeded all my expectations and more. Mission Hills is a gem! We had a wonderful time during our whole stay. Nancy assisted us throughout check in and even helped us reserve our photoshoot session and even took the extra mile in helping us with our food delivery. The Kids Club is pure joy! My daughter had so much fun and even made a friend there. Would defintely come back! The only thing I hope they improve is the breakfast buffet because there are flies.

Hotel was good value for money and located around lots of malls and cafes which was great. Maybe a little outdated and not as clean as I would have hoped but it was a nice stay nevertheless. Highly recommend the breakfast if getting there early too!

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They took the initiatives to help us with our luggage. All of them never hesitated to offer help. They wear a smile and were attentive to our needs. The room was clean and my stay there was extremely pleasant. As foreigners, you will not get to enjoy the welcome drink mentioned or promised. It seems like we need to be a citizen to scan the QR code on the app to enjoy the complimentary drinks which we don’t have. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay even though there wasn’t any welcome drinks.

We chose Sheraton Haikou due to the great reviews, especially from helpful staff, close to the beach, and activities for children. Our stay was for 1 week. Disappointments: 1) Absence and failed service of front desk staff 2) No help with luggage (really needed it) 3) Room cleaning could have been better. 4) Communication, there was almost never English staff available. Additionally, no one once checked in on us. Maybe I’m being petty but if guests stay long you’d wanna check if they need anything or just if they’re okay. At checkout, they looked more annoyed and just wanted to get rid of me. I asked about my Marriott membership & the lady was dismissive. 5) Poorly winter holiday program for kids. Different from the advertised program on trip.com. 6) Checkout was delayed because they couldn’t find my booking. Very weird. Eventually they spoke to someone who helped me and found the booking. How is this possible considering that I’ve been there for a week? Great things: 1) location: it’s right on the beach, not far from airport and other places to explore 2. Location: it was very calm and relaxing, which is why we chose Haikou as opposed to Sanya. No heavy crowds, except when going to touristy places can expect some crowd but still manageable 3. Free photoshoot was fun and good way to create memories 4. Hot pool was a good way to make up for being in a pool, we loved it 5. Western restaurant was fine, had some good options. 6. Little play center for kids 7. Large grounds for kids to run around and to enjoy outdoors. 8. Accommodating: we were assigned a room on the 5th floor but on arrival it had a strong mould odour from the moment you exit the elevator. Was so bad when I entered the room, I instantly got a headache. All rooms have no windows, only a balcony door but be aware of bugs and spiders. We immediately got moved to a room on the 4th floor, less odour and no smell in the room. 9) Entertainment: live music at night Would I go again? Yes, especially since I know what to expect. Or try another hotel in the same area. Overall, we were happy to be by the seaside and explore places in Haikou.

Hotel has 6 floors with 1 lift. Average size room. Big windows, Queen bed with 2 pillows, 2 bedside tables. 1 round table with chair. Std amenities with paper cups. Laundry has 1 washer and 1 dryer. Separate bath/toilet, bath, face towels. Floor towel mat. Small area but OK. Water flow out and wet toilet area although separated. No rain shower. Big slippers. Adequate hangers and hooks. Power sockets not well placed. Good location opposite People's Park. Buses to everywhere including railway station and airport. Plenty of food stalls, restaurants, convenience stores, shopping malls nearby. Very popular hotel. Breakfast simple but good.
