The best hostel of my entire trip! From the cleanliness of the rooms and comfortable beds to the kitchen and the wonderful staff—everything was perfect! I spent 11 nights at this hostel and didn't want to leave at all. At Oversleep Cat Ba, I was an important guest. my bed linen was changed every three days (or sooner at my request). There were always fresh towels at reception. Delicious food and the nicest chefs. At reception, you can resolve any issue. From renting a bike to withdrawing cash (I transferred money to a Vietnamese bank via Q-code and they kindly gave me the entire amount in cash) No stress or complications. I extended my reservation several times and didn't have to change beds; they organised everything for me. Sensitive and responsible. Papa - here are my words of love from the bottom of my heart, for your care. For every morning and evening When I came to the pool bar, I always smiled when I saw you! Thank you for your kindness. For making me feel at home away from home (this is not just a slogan, it is the motto of the entire hotel. The rooms and beds - a separate love Nowhere else have I found such comfortable and ergonomically correct beds Not only a locker, shelf, lamp and socket, but also a large amount of space on the side of the bed where you can conveniently lay out your things (and hide your backpack in a large locker under the bed) No mess and always clean. Clean and functional showers and toilets. Plenty of space, no unpleasant odours. Importantly, there is space to work. The bar has enough space for fun evenings and for work. Uninterrupted Wi-Fi, excellent speed. The hostel observes quiet hours. For breakfast, I always asked for extra bread with my meal, and I was never refused. In the end, I didn't even have to ask; the staff knew me and offered me bread themselves. So nice! Thank you! I sincerely thank the entire CatBa Oversleep hostel team for your work, your love for what you do, and your complete dedication. Your care for each guest, your attentiveness, and your kindness! If fate brings me back to this island, I will return to you without hesitation!

We stayed for 2 nights here in the top floor family room. We had a nice large terrace facing the mountain. The room was spotlessly clean, the mattress was good and there was enough lighting all around. Plenty of free bottled water was provided. The bathroom was huge with both a shower and bathtub. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with pancake and pho and fresh fruits. The service was very good, whenever we had a query, we were promptly addressed via WhatsApp with the owner. The location is just right for us, who want to be a few mins walking distance to the main street and restaurant and is quiet enough away from loud music from the tourist bars and restaurants. We highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Catba. Thank you to the owner!

This hotel is awesome! Our room was super clean, and the amenities were top-notch. Linh from Rumba Reato was especially great; she even helped us use our points for food. Some staff weren't as friendly, though, and the Rumba manager was pretty rude at breakfast, making us feel unwelcome even though it was only 8 AM. Still, overall, it's a great hotel, and I hope the manager learns to be more sensitive to guests.

Если на центральной набережной сплошная стройка, то возле отеля тихо и спокойно. Также из отеля открывается отличный вид на бухту. 2. Отель предлагает экскурсии, билеты на автобусы и лимузины, можно покушать и любоваться пейзажами на последнем этаже. Можно отдать вещи в стирку. Предлагается аренда мотобайков. 3. Цена номеров очень привлекательная, в центре за такой номер с видом на стройку с вас возьмут в два раза больше. В цену номера входит простой завтрак. Как итог: в 2025 это один из лучших вариантов на Катба в своей ценовой категории.

Here’s my honest, heart-felt take on Aui Nguyen Trai in Hai Phong City, Vietnam. From the moment I stepped through the doors, Aui Nguyen Trai felt like a calm exhale in the middle of the city’s lively rhythm. The location is spot-on—close enough to Hai Phong’s cafés, markets, and landmarks for easy wandering, yet tucked just enough off the main flow to stay quiet at night. The rooms are bright, thoughtfully laid out, and impeccably clean; little details—good water pressure, comfortably firm mattresses, and reliable Wi-Fi—made it effortless to settle in after a day out. Service is where the hotel truly shines. Staff were warm without being overbearing, quick with local tips, and genuinely proactive—everything from a smooth check-in to helping with rides and recommendations felt easy and human. Public spaces are tidy and modern, and the overall vibe is understated—more “well-curated haven” than flashy boutique, which I loved. Value for money is excellent; you get the kind of comfort and consistency that usually costs more. If you’re visiting Hai Phong for work or a quick city break before heading to the islands, this is a place that makes travel feel simple—in the best possible way. I’d gladly stay here again.

The hotel is easy to find (right on the road in Cat Ba town) and is in a great location, close to many restaurants and convenience stores. Motorbike shops are also nearby if needed. The family who owns the hotel are lovely. The wife speaks some English and Mandarin along with Vietnamese. They are quick to respond if no one is at the front desk. Our room was standard, basic amenities like shampoo and soap pockets plus toothbrushes are provided. A kettle was available but no bottled water or coffee / tea is given in the rooms. They do offer a simple breakfast in the morning and coffee or tea comes with that meal. Ok for 1-2 nights if budget is a concern but there are also many other hotels in the area if you want more amenities.

I needed a place to stay when the ferries closed due to a typhoon and this was a neat spot to find on short notice. The comment I am making is based on the amount of money being paid for Vietnamese standards so the room has everything you need and the bed is comfortable, however I felt the blanket was quite thin. The menu for food was only in Vietnamese. There are snacks and drinks in the room that are cheap, but I was hesitant on the bottled water when I had seen it was opened already and I wondered if it was just refilled instead of being a new bottle? The reception staff were very kind, helpful and lovely to speak with. The breakfast was small in variety and the English Breakfast I got was what I feel a way to save costs by giving ham instead of bacon? Again only due to the price being paid did I expect something of better quality in some regards. However I am grateful for a place to stay when I was stuck. There are restaurants nearby, a very good western bar with good food and lovely local vietnamese seafood spots. It is in walking distance to the beach.

Most positive point is very useful location! This hotel is closely from bus line, and easy to go to drink to somewhere! So cost and performance is very great! And following picture's bar was very good. I recommend this place to go to drink somewhere.
