Hotel berhampiran JR Sakuma station, Hamamatsu

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Concorde for 5 days in August, and we enjoyed a lovely and very memorable experience during our stay. The lobby is very big, but furniture and decor is a little dated and could do with an eventual renovation. A good front desk/reception staff is the hallmark of a great hotel. As non-Japanese visitors to a less frequented area of Japan, we expected to have some difficulties communicating in Hamamatsu. Though this was largely the case, we were pleasantly surprised at the lengths hotel staff would go to in order to ensure we had a good experience. We arrived at around noon, earlier than the supposed 3pm check-in time. Our luggage from Tokyo had been sent via luggage delivery service, and the front desk informed us that all our luggage would be kept securely in the room and would be available upon check-in. We passed the time in the hotel restaurant - understandably, some staff could not understand us at first but made every possible effort to try and communicate with us. The hotel restaurant (which also serves daily buffet breakfast, lunch, and à la carte dinner) had a decent selection and we found it sufficient for our needs. Upon check-in at 3pm, we received complimentary water bottles and a single physical key to our room. Unfortunately, this is the only key, making staying in a room with other people a little inconvenient. Elevators are fast and frequent, offering access to coin laundry, food and beverage vending machines, ice machines, an unagi and a Japanese restaurant, as well as guest rooms. An amenity station is provided at the entrance to each floor, where guests can help themselves to instant tea and coffee, toiletries, and even a clothing press. Rooms are basic but clean and practical. Adapters are provided upon request. There are robes and slippers within the drawers, a bag for dirty towels, and tea bags. One feature my family appreciated was a laundry status channel on the television, in which guests can see which laundry machines are in use, and how much time each has left. Our room had an amazing view of the Hamamatsu City Hall and the Hamamatsu Castle. The housekeeping schedule can be variable - there was one day where the maids were just getting started on our room at 3pm. However, cleaning seems to be fast and efficient. In terms of location, we eventually settled on the Hotel Concorde due to its proximity to a friend's apartment. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Hamamatsu train station. A Family Mart is located just across the street, and there is a beautiful Starbucks location in the Hamamatsu Castle park. Taxis don't seem to pass by the area too often, but hotel staff can always make a call for you. Though there isn't a large selection of restaurants nearby, most locations are within a 10-minute walk. 飲み会で宿泊するときに利用しました。できたばかりのホテルで部屋や廊下ロビーは綺麗です。1階にはレストラン＆バーがありましたがコロナの影響か休業との事でした。早期再開を期待したいですね。部屋は問題ない大きさですがトイレとバスタブが若干小さいような気がしました。ボディソープやシャンプーは壁に備え付けになっていますが若干のアメニティーはフロント横から必要だけ持ってくるようになります。駐車場は隣接する立体駐車場が提携していますのでそちらに駐車になります。繁華街からは近いので利用するには良いホテルです。

浜松駅から地下を通れば雨に濡れずに行けるし、外を通ってもとても近いです。 コロナの影響で朝食バイキングはなかったのですが、たくさんの和洋のおかずがありました。 特に豚の角煮がすごくおいしかったです！！ 他はしらすや明太子シリアルは３種類、スクランブルエッグに*焼き、ウィンナーとベーコン、サラダにフルーツ、紅茶も６種類くらい（ティーバッグ）温かいミルク冷たいミルク、コーヒー、おひたしや、漬物などなど書ききれないくらいです。 バストイレも広くて１泊するなら十分の設備でした。 部屋にはキーコーヒーのドリップとティーバッグの紅茶がありました。 キーコーヒーはとてもおいしいので、コーヒー嫌いの私が感激したほどですので、これがあったのは益々ポイント高いです！！ また浜松旅行をする際には泊まりたいです。 次回はショパンの丘が見える部屋を希望してみるつもり。 今回は静かな部屋を希望しました。本当に静かでした。（平日だったからかも）

I started visiting Okura hotel in Hamamatsu since March 2010 and this hotel and its wonderful staff has always been consistent in delivering exceptionally wonderful service. The hotel is located strategically next to Hamamatsu train station which makes it very convenient to get to. Act City Mall is located next to the hotel and it’s a convenient place to shop. There’s also many restaurants and bars which are located not more then 10 minutes walk from the hotel. If you get a view at one of the higher floors, you will get an awesome view of Hamamatsu city. There are many restaurants in the hotel as well as the complex where the hotel is located. The hotel is decorated with music themes and I like how the elevator has Chopin’s music notes on it. Exceptionally classy and beautiful hotel!

I was on my way home Osaka from Tokyo in my newly purchased car, so I took a rest at night threre. The room was neat and tidy. I fell sound sleep. Thank you very much.

Small space but happy with the location, front desk personnels are really helpful. Breakfast is amazing and there is free curry at dinner time. (not always available but it’s a hit) thank you for accommodating us.

最初駅から向かった時に迷ってしまい(GPSつけながら向かったのですが、私が方向音痴なのとGPSがうまく作動しなかった為)地元の方に聞いてやっと着きました。何の事はない私が大回りしていただけで、JR浜松駅中央の通路を遠鉄百貨店と反対の方に出れば、5分程で着きます。有名な餃子屋さん(むつ菊)はホテルの裏にあります。 着いて荷物を預けた時にアメニティについて特に説明が無かったのですが、部屋着や綿棒、フットピロー等はフロントに言えば借りられます。エレベーター横に部屋着、綿棒等は置いてあります。部屋は広くはないですが、清潔で使いやすかったです。私は机の前の椅子には座らず、もっぱらベットからテレビを見ていました。 2泊しましたが朝食は日替わりで、パンの種類も変わりました。スムージーもです。１日目はウナギご飯を食べそびれたので、2日目は早めに行き食べる事が出来ました！種類は多くないですが、無料の朝食はありがたかったです。 一つ中々慣れなかったのが洗面所の蛇口です。最後までどっちに回せば蛇口？シャワー？ってなっていました(自分が慣れなかっただけです。。)お風呂にお湯を入れる時に、蛇口の長さが少し足りない気がしました。 あとよかったのはウェルカムドリンクです。１４時からコーヒー、レモン水が飲めます(コーヒーはもっと早くから飲めた気もします) 全体的にとても良いホテルライフでした。また機会があれば他のコンフォートホテルにも泊まってみたいです。

The location is very good, very close to the train station. And it's quiet, very comfortable.

The hotel room was a lot smaller than I expected. It’s possibly because of the difference in photos online and the actual room in person. The stay was ok. I was only at the hotel for sleep or stopping by to drop something off. The location is extremely good since it’s right by the station. I would give full marks in that. If you’re not staying at the hotel for long, I recommend it.

My dad has a saying ”all fur coat and no knickers” which in essence is this hotel.... there is grandeur as you walk in to the lobby and main areas but that all changes as soon as you enter the rooms.... which i'm guessing were last updated circa 1880!! You get an old fashioned key - not the worst but you kind of can guess what is to come, the room was stifling, disgustingly hot, we had to go to the lobby to get any information about cooling (distantly there is one) it is simply a fan and there was no cool air, the windows were locked so no relief there either.... we ended up wetting towels to put over ourselves!!! the bed cover was immediately taken off it was heavy and old fashioned.... the beds were uncomfortable and you could feel the springs. the bathroom was just as hideous, a small capsule with a shower over the tub (a pet peeve of mine) and for a short person such as much it was not easy to navigate, the shower wasn't much better. every hotel we have stayed at in Japan provided water in the room and an air purifier - this offered neither. the breakfast was basic buffet and a free for all, i would not recommend this hotel and this it should be scrapped from the tour list
