High Grassings Country House

Just spent three nights in this lovely B and B. Excellent location, easy to explore by car or bus. A visit to Tawn How a must. Dave is a one man travel guide. Lots of useful tips. Accommodation excellent. Very clean, comfy beds. Room spacious with tea and real coffee, plus bathroom toiletries all added to our comfort. Couldn’t end without mentioning the scrummy breakfast, plentiful and well cooked. The welcoming lounge with log fire was perfect to relax after a days sightseeing. Would definitely recommend.

This place is amazing. Me and my husband stayed here for three nights in the suite it was fabulous . The view was amazing the room was very clean , comfortable bed good facilities. The dressing gowns and slippers and a bottle of wine were a brilliant touch. The bathroom was lovely with a massive shower. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of continental or cooked options. The owners were lovely and friendly couldn't of asked for better service. The location is very good for the surrounding area with plenty of places to visit Five stars all round . Will definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

The hospitality was first class. The rooms were comfortable with all the required amenities. The breakfast could not be beaten. The views from our windows was wonderful. It was a little disappointing that the lovely lounge did not have a TV, which would have facilitated being able to relax after a full day. You need to be a confident driver as the approach roads are as tight as the car park.

We booked the suite for 3 nights for a hiking weekend and a friend’s wedding. After a 6 hour journey from Norfolk the hosts were incredibly accommodating at our late check in hour and had great communication. The room was spectacular, spacious, beautiful furnishings, fruit platter, a minibar and most importantly the views. We had plenty of storage space, a full length wardrobe and ample sockets, including by the bed on both sides. The daily continental or cooked breakfast was delicious. The grounds were stunning and the welcome by the chickens and peacock each day was lovely, the views spectacular and I loved the touch of the twinkling tea lights leading you back to the house after dusk. Also getting ready for the wedding the bathroom had great lighting, plenty of mirrors and a well powered shower, hot hot water and a very good hair dryer (important for those of us with long hair!). It was a really easy drive around on very quiet roads to Langdale, Ambleside and Windermere. We had to leave very early on the Monday and came back to a small care package for us to set us on our long journey home which was a lovely touch. We will absolutely stay again if visiting the lakes, thank you so much.

Very warm welcome from the start. Excellent host, very knowledgeable about the local area and could not be more helpful with our queries. Beautiful room, with fantastic views. Spotless. Breakfast was delicious and more than enough to set us up for the day. Looking to go back as soon as possible.

Beautiful bnb set within an easy drive from Hawkeshead. Spotless rooms, friendly hosts and a real sense of tranquility. Easy parking, super breakfast and a real feeling of countryside with a host of chickens and peacocks. Cannot find a single flaw or ossue and would go back at the drop of a hst.
