I stayed here 1 night in June, the room was out dated but clean, the fridge and AC worked fine for me. The pool was located outside and rather clean. The biggest disappointment is they offer a free full hot breakfast, but they don't cook anything you can pick a yogurt or a fruit cup. in my opinion it should $40-50/night hotel not $90

Hickory?THE center for furniture outlet stores! Red Roof Hickory is within 1/2 mile of the Hickory Metro Convention Center and within 1 mile of the Valley Hills Mall and Hickory Furniture Mart. Hickory Speedway, Lenoir-Rhyne College, and L-P Fran Stadium are all within a 10 minute drive from this hotel.

We got to the hotel at 5am for a funeral at 1pm. The clerk suggested doing an early check-in so I'd have access to the room for the entire day. That was a life saver since I was able to get some additional rest before having to drive 4 hours back home.

We visited Hickory to go to the furniture mart. This hotel is adjacent to the mart, so it was a perfect location. So was everything else. At a time when hotels are doing less and less, this hotel did more. I booked the hotel the same day I arrived. I put in a request for a high floor/interior room, and someone (initials CC; I couldn't read her name tag) had already reviewed my request and moved us to our requested room type. This has happened exactly zero times in the past two years. They had fresh-baked cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. They had a very nice hot buffet breakfast in the morning. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. I recently switched from Marriott to IHG, because I was so unhappy with Marriott's service. This experience makes me think I made the right decision. Also- there are numerous fast-casual restaurants within a 5 minute drive. There's an Applebee's and a Panera within easy walking distance.
