Hotel berhampiran Hiroshima Bay Marina, Hiroshima

元地元民からすると「厚生年金会館」で泊まれたの？って感じでホールの イメージが強いが、現在はパックツアーで安い料金帯の宿って感じです。 平和公園には近いのですが、場所が中途半端で市電も通ってなく不便という 先入観で観光客には人気がないのか、とにかくツアーでは安いです。 しかし、市電の路線に挟まれた住宅地に向かう主要通りなので、バスが非常に 頻繁に走っており夜は早じまいですが、ほぼ時刻表なしで乗ることができます。 ホテル前に「加古町」という停留所（平和公園の次）で赤バス（広島バス） の24号線、吉島線が（広島駅～八丁堀～紙屋町~平和公園）と主要地を 通る路線なので市電に劣らず利用価値があると思います。 竣工はかなり古いはずですが、古く見えず館内も比較的きれいですし 部屋もリノベーションされて広くて快適だと思います。 中心部にあるホテルよりコストパフォーマンスに優れ良いと思いますが あくまでもビジネスホテルなのでアメニティ等は少なめで壁など防音対策は 貧弱な気がします。当日修学旅行の小学生が下のフロアを占拠してましたが 走り回る音がかなり響いてましたようでホテル名のごとく日によっては 学生団体も多いのでそのあたりはご注意ください。

Situated only a couple of minutes walk from Hondori shopping street and about 10 minutes walk, depending on if you’re a snail pace walker or someone who walks as fast as an angry mother who’s about to complain to the school board about something, from the Peace Memorial Park lies Santiago Guest House. A hostel that is a bit of a pain to find with it only being sign posted by those hanging signs attached to high rise buildings that are literally everywhere in Japan. With said buildings hosting separate businesses on each floor, it may stress you out finding it but upon entry the stress will go bye bye from its general aesthetically pleasing outlook. A modern and polished looked hostel who’s reception lies right next the common room and kitchen area, giving everyone in there a look at the fresh meat coming in. The common area and reception give a friendly vibe out from the on set with bean bags, couches, two TVs (one with a PlayStation 3) and shelves holding games and cuddly toys for you to spoon like they’re your partner whilst watching a rom com on Netflix. Generally the 6th floor where there is one dorm room and the kitchen and common area is quality. The kitchen is a little small in size but it does the job plus you’re in Japan where bento boxes are a way of life. Plus you can always just jaunt to the local supermarket- Yours- between 8:15 – 8:40pm where the bento boxes, salad and sushi goes half price, which the foreign helpers for free accommodation do pretty much every night. The room was larger, nicer, and cheaper than the 4 star places I stayed at in Kyoto and Tokyo. The view from the room I had was great - high up and facing peace memorial park. The park itself was only a few minutes walk away, and the hotel was nearby many shops and transport. Really great budget choice.

This was my first capsule experience and honestly it has everything that you would need for a short stay. I was also surprised at how quiet it was once you are in your capsule. The capsules are also much bigger than expected! It's handy that the toilet, shower, and sink area are all in separate areas. All are really clean as well, perhaps because it's a woman's only floor! I stayed in a ”superior” capsule which was a little like having the lower bunk bed but the top bunk is separated off. It was in its own little room which a partician door but the door doesn't lock. You do get a locker inside this area which does lock for your valuables. Sadly the thing lowering the rating for me was the comfort of the bed. The mattress was extremely thin and I just couldn't get comfortable. I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet hoping for extra comfort but that didn't help either. The capsule is also quite chilly. They had the Aircon on and you cannot control that for your room although the capsules do also have their own air con if you are travelling in summer and need extra cooling.

Excellent location a few minutes walk from Hiroshima railway station. We had a connecting room which has an interior door between the adjacent double room and twin room, allowing you to move between them. The hotel rooms are compact, but functional and comfortable. Especially the double room, the kids had more room in their twin room. It can accommodate up to four people, making it ideal for families or friends.

We arrived in Hiroshima by train and this hotel is super close to the train station so it was super easy to get to and from here with literally a 5 minute walk. It looks like the area has been redeveloped a bit so there's a bunch of good restaurants around the hotel. There is also a tram stop right around the corner so even though it's location is a bit far from all the sightseeing in the city you can get there easily by just hopping on one of the cool streetcars. The room itself is on the small side but the bed was super comfy. Shared bathrooms and toilets were clean most of the time and pretty spacious too. The downstairs common room and kitchen is great, there's so many kitchen appliances and utensils to use which was great. There's a bunch of manga books and boardgames too for some entertainment. The room could do with a few hooks to hang up stuff on the wall. Since the room is really small and there's no space for anything other than the bed and the tiny table with a stool it'd be a great solution to add some sort of storage for things like coats and bags etc. Unfortunately the cafe was closed when we were there so haven't been able to try this.

A really nice modern hotel with clean and stylish rooms although rather compact. Breakfast had a nice selection of Japanese and Western options. The Riverside cafe was still closed following Covid however the hotel is a short walk to Hiroshima Train Station which has a wonderful food hall and there's a Family Mart down the street. Shukkeien Gardens is close by and worth a visit. Service and staff great. Will definitely stay here again.

The Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel delivers from beginning to end regarding service and location. I had the chance to stay one night in early June before heading next morning to Okunoshima, and it was highly worth it. Next to Hiroshima Station, this location is a must. In addition, the quality of service provided by each member, either at the front desk or Club Lounge, was excellent. Daisuke in the Club Lounge was helpful and went above and beyond to assist during my stay. Regarding the room, I highly recommend booking a Club Level room or suite. The panoramic views of Hiroshima are amazing, but the room is exceptionally comfortable. I had the chance to stay in a suite, approximately 750 sq. ft., which was quite comfortable, especially the bed. The bathroom was spacious, and the bathtub was worth it after a long day or walk in the city. I also recommend the spa facilities in the hotel. If you pay around 1,650 Yen, you can use the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and cold bath. This is a great activity to relax and disconnect from reality fully. I enjoyed my time there and would return if I had the chance. Overall, it was a great stay, and thankful for the generosity and excellent customer service provided by the team in this hotel.
