Unfortunately, our two night experience here wasn't as good as we'd hoped from looking at the photos and reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival, staff seemed friendly and helped us up to our room with our bags. We booked a double room which was located one floor up from the reception. There was no noise from the reception area itself but we got very little sleep due to dogs barking throughout the night (all windows were closed). The room itself was a little dated and not the cleanest of hotel rooms (though it could have been worse). There were stains on the blinds, walls, bedding and fabric chair which were a little gross. Hot water worked fine for us and the minibar was restocked with the water which we had used. Staff were friendly when we saw them, but their presence was lacking at times and the hotel seemed very quiet. We were looking forward to sitting out on the large balcony up top (from which the views were stunning) but this area seemed neglected with the bar closed and no guests using it which was sad since we were looking forward to spending evenings chatting to others and relaxing as per the photos we'd seen. We can't comment on food as we didn't eat at the restaurant, though no one seemed to eat there in the evening. We borrowed bicycles (free of charge) from the hotel which was a brilliant way of seeing some of the phenomenal local area. Overall, our experience here wasn't great but it may have been a different story if we'd booked a better room on the other side of the hotel away from the noise of the dogs!

We stayed at the Emeralda Resort in Tam Coc for 3 nights last week. It was a pleasant experience. The hotel is beautiful, I loved the view of our bedroom. The staff is very welcoming, they would help with everything we needed. The Spa is worth checking, loved the massages. The restaurant serves a variety of meals and they are all good. The breakfast buffet is great, especially if you seat by the windows where it's a beautiful view of the mountains of on the other side you can sit below the koi aquarium. We booked two days of tours, and the guide Sau Dang made a perfect schedule for us. We had his attention during all the days, he took me to see the most incredible things. Explaining the history and juice details about the geography and culture of each place we passed and about the Complex of Ninh Binh itself. Thank you Emerald Resort, thank you Sau Dang. You all made our time there lovely! We would love to come back.

This place exceeded all of our expectations. The owners of this home stay were so accommodating- we got into Tam Coc around 4am and even though our check in was not until 11am, they welcomed us in with open arms. Every morning they cooked delicious breakfast and greeted us with fresh pineapple and tea upon our return. We also used their laundry, motorbike services, and they helped us book out sleeper bus ticket to Hue- it was so convenient!! I cannot recommend this place enough, great hosts and a great location. Thank you for everything Bich and Thien, we had a fantastic visit 💗

Our stay was very comfortable. The room provided all necessities such as shampoo, soap, fresh linen, towels, and AC. The floor was very clean. We had a great view of the mountain. Did not have any issues with mosquitoes, but probably mostly to do with the time of year (mid October). The location is just a 10min walk from boat rides and other restaurants. We didn’t rent any bikes but rather hired Grabs to get around. The staff were very friendly as well. Recommended for couples and families!

Across all of my travels so far, this is my favourite hotel. It's such a beautiful place - inside and outside. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. It's also perfectly located close to all the bars and restaurants. A great two night stay. Would highly recommend. Special shout out to Anh 😂 great guy, great sense of humour.

Un hotel de 10. La villa con piscina individual brutal, se aprecia en las fotos. Todo nuevo, desayuno decente y personal siempre antento y muy amable. Mención especial a Kien, muy majo y servicial y aprendiendo ingles para atender mejor. Puedes alquilar moto o bicis y la localización es muy buena cerca tanto de Trang An como de Mua cave.

Simple, rustic hotel in Ninh Binh. We stayed here for two nights to explore Ninh Binh. From the start, D, the hotel staff was very prompt in answering our inquiries which was very assuring for a pleasant stay. Our private airport transfer to the hotel went without a hitch. Arriving at the hotel in the morning, we were offered breakfast which was well appreciated. The room was spacious and clean but needs refurbishment. The place is peaceful and quiet. Overall a very good stay.

I can’t rate this hotel highly enough.It is in a lovely spot with great rooms and amazing gardens. We had fantastic massages and the morning yoga was a nice touch. What really makes it is the service. All of the staff went above and beyond, without exception. I would particularly like note that we left an item behind in our bedroom. An hour after leaving we contacted the hotel to see if they had found it. Not only did they find it but they hand delivered it to us in Hanoi the next day, what service. My only disappointment is that we didn’t stay longer!

SStephanieI truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Dzung and his family were so kind and generous. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. The pictures of the home stay on the internet do not do this place justice. Dzung has made every effort to make his guests feel at home. We each had bicycles that we could use free of charge. The breakfasts that his wife made were delicious, best pancakes! We had our own bathrooms and the rooms and facilities were absolutely pristine. Trip.com indicated that this home stay had shared washrooms but this isn’t always the case, we had our own private bathrooms. We also couldn’t get enough of the rooftop pool! Dzung was so helpful showing us where to go and what to do. The home stay is so conveniently located, away from the hustle and bustle. So tranquil and peaceful. We will mostly definitely be returning. This was truly a special experience that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Dzung and your family for being the most gracious hosts. We felt as though we were a part of your family. We will see you all soon!

AAnnabel P.A beautiful hotel away from the main road. Unfortunately when I stayed they still had parts of the hotel under construction like the pool area and drive way and the family accommodation next to the drive way. There is also a few other houses/hotels under construction in the area at the moment so it’s not so quite during working hours.
The family was very helpful and kind. I took a free bike to Trang An which was an easy 20 min ride (stopped for some pics along the way). I also ordered a late meal which they were happy to fix for me.
Right by a small lake and surrounded by mountains it’s very picturesque. Large rooms and comfy beds. I would definitely recommend.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed for 5 nights and it was a fantastic experience throughout! Room was clean and had hot water, Netflix and aircon. View at the homestay was great and allowed us to relax thoroughly. Host was very friendly and gave us good advice on where to travel in the area. We had bbq and family was so kind to help us with the bbq. Location is ideal for travelling to trang an boat ride and hang mua cave. Bicycle rental is for free. Overall, highly recommend others to visit this homestay to complete your vietnam experience!

I'm not going to lie, when we first checked in here I was extremely skeptical as our initial room was not up to par. After going back and forth with my Husband on whether or not to move to another spot we decided to give it a chance and asked to switch rooms instead. The Woman (I am so sad/sorry I did not get her name and will lovingly refer to her as Boss Lady) at the desk heard our concerns and immediately got us switched over to another room that was WAY better. Long story short, out of our 2 weeks in Vietnam (luxury hotels and otherwise) I think this was our favorite stay. Our best breakfast in Vietnam was here. It was delicious and made me feel like it was made with love and that brightened my spirits. Boss Lady helped me make a perfect 2 day itinerary in the region and helped me avoid some pitfalls. She also recommended an amazing massage spot. I felt like she was a trusted friend. Boss Lady and her family made our stay magical. I booked this homestay after a recommendation from Lilly at Grand Hotel Du Lac in Hanoi. I'm so happy we took her advice. We loved this homestay and can't wait to return.

FFlorianL'accueil, la bienveillance, la gentillesse, l'aide, vraiment tout est excellent! La famille qui gère ce petit hôtel est vraiment top! La chambre est spacieuse, les lits très confortables, grande salle de bain avec eau chaude, de l'eau et du café à disposition. Les petits déjeuner sont variés et savoureux! Il y a des vélos a disposition et aussi des scooters en location. Il n'y a rien à reprocher, je recommande sans problème, vous ne serez vraiment pas déçu!

PPengguna TetamuOur arrival didn't go very well. The toilet didn't work and the manager immediately set to work to fix it but no success. So then he had to put us in the very last available room which was not as nice as what we booked. However, the next day we were given a new good room. Our booking included breakfast but no breakfast is served at the place. So he took us on a motorbike to a restaurant nearby where we were allowed to order a cheap brekfast. So don't book it with meals. Our main problem was that the manager guy spoke no English at all. You had to type your questions on his phone which translated it. That made you think twice before asking. Also he was always very serious, no smiles at all. But he did fix all the issues, so he is working hard. We actually wanted to book a room at Tam Coc FriendLY Homestay but somehow we booked this one by mistake. Even the taxi brought us to the wrong one, so beware of the difference! It is a little bit out of Tam Coc town, but very close to the Bich Dong Pagoda. There are a few Vietnames restaurants nearby, walking distance. The nice thing is that you can use the bikes for free. So we cycled to Tam Coc, Hang Mua and Trang An with the bikes provided. The homestay is on a side road, very quiet. It has a small swimming pool and there were kids in it enjoying it grately. The room is very large, the largest we had in Vietnam. It has AC, WiFi, fridge and kettle (bring your own supplies). The bathroom is also quite spacious but the shower goes all over it. The sink is outside the bathroom in the room, which was nice. Things were clean. We stayed here 3 days and once we knew how to operate (restaurants, bikes) we felt alright.

KKyaw KyawThe bungalows were located at a walking distance from some attractions. The hotel manager (and her two extremely adorable kids) were very kind and hospitable even though they were clearly short-staffed leading to forgetting some of the requests. The family room was quite spacious. The breakfast was a little bit underwhelming but for the price paid, it was worth it. The hotel offers an impressive range of services from renting scooters to arranging boat tours.

PPengguna TetamuLovely location, really quiet, with a nice pool. On site restaurant with a good menu, including vegetarian food. The owners arrange a driver to take us to the main sights too, with a detailed itinerary to make sure we made the best of our time.

MMylien CaohuuThe staff were very courteous and went our of their way to tell us about the highlights of Ninh Binh (places of interest and food). The room were very spacious and clean although it felt a bit warm as we couldn’t turn down the thermostat.
Breakfast was excellent, there were many choices although we couldn’t eat much.

PPengguna TetamuWe had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Ninh Binh and were able to see so much of the area in just one day. The location of the home stay was super for this and we were also delighted that the staff were helpful in arranging transport to the train station and Trang An. Until we came to leave, we would have been comfortable leaving a 3 or 4 out of 5 rating. We were however made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the man who oversaw our stay, as he began hassling us to leave a review before we had had breakfast. This intensified when we returned from our day out; we were obliged to leave a review before he would drive us to the station (which we had already paid him for). We left a generous review on *********** (averaged at 8.0/10) which did highlighted the one area we felt was lacking - the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. The man then proceeded to drive incredibly unsafely (including at points driving without holding the steering wheel, across two lanes in relatively busy traffic and far slower than the rest of the traffic) whilst using his phone to translate his haranguing of us about our review, eventually resulting in us having to speak to his boss on the phone about why we hadn’t left a 10/10 review. The entire interaction left us feeling distinctly uncomfortable and spoiled the end of our trip. We were relieved to get out of the vehicle, even though it was not in the drop-off location we had agreed.
