When you arrive at the Grand Chancellor you will find a tiny front drive that can fit about 4 cars, where you are supposed to be able to park, check in, and then move your car to their underground parking. However, this front drive is not monitored so when we arrived the driveway was completely full with no one there to direct us anywhere. We drove around the block to enter the underground parking and unloaded our bags which we had to carry up the stairs from the parking garage as there was no guest lift that we could easily find (good luck if you have trouble with stairs). At the bottom of the stairs there is a button that you can supposedly use to call someone to assist with your bags. We tried to use this and though we could hear the bell upstairs, it was not answered (even just to let us know that someone would come), so we gave up and carried our bags up the stairs. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was clearly very dated. We could see some effort had been made to update the rooms visually but the installations felt very half-****d. For instance instead of a shower curtain for the bath tub there was a half glass pane that is delightfully too short and instead bounces water off its side and onto the floor. A rainfall showerhead had also been installed but it seemed like an afterthought as it was crooked and had poor water pressure. We then tried to use the pool. Upon entry, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of dark and damp fitness centers and unmaintained pool floors & furniture. There were no staff nearby and the entire area was a mess. Walking into the locker rooms was a shock with horrible banged up smelly lockers (many of which were open but had no key to lock it!) and awful grey blue shiny tiles that bounce the cold flickering white light around. The shared sauna between male and female locker rooms was also a joke. We left without even bothering to get changed or use the pool. We then attempted to dine at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The host at the front asked if we had a reservation which we did not. He then looked around at the many empty tables as if he was not sure what to do and then asked us to ”wait outside” as he checked availability. We have never been asked to exit any restaurant whilst they searched for a table (even in much busier restaurants) and we were very frustrated by this request. We waited outside over 5 minutes and then decided to leave and ask the front desk staff for other local restaurant recommendations. As we were on our way out, we noticed the restaurant host was hovering nearby as if he had found us a table and was waiting for us to be done but we left without another look. Upon arriving back in our room after dinner and turning off the lights to sleep, we were graced with the hallway light streaming through the large cracks in the poorly fitted door. We had to stuff the cracks with towels, and then cover the strong blue light from the thermostat (which had no function to tur

We stayed on the 5th floor facing the main road, however the room was very quiet with no noise whatsoever from traffic or adjacent rooms. The staff were extra helpful. If you paid for breakfast it included both continental and hot food with a very wide selection to suit all dietary requirements. The restaurant specialises in Asian meals. The Capitan's Chicken and Potato Curry was a favorite. The rooms were clean and 100% functional as a maintenance feedback form is left in every room. The blackout curtains stopped all the light for those that like to sleep in or get over jet lag. Security was enhanced by room card access to the lifts. It was a 10 minute walk to everything, a 3 minute walk to the Skybus stop and 5 minute walk to the Hop-on-hop-off stop. Good value and recommended.

I stayed here briefly (plumbing problem at home) so cannot comment on sleep quality. I had room 23, which was tiny (it was advertised as small) and had a double bed. Bed linen was clean and appeared to be good quality. Towels on the bed were folded in a most bizarre way, and they appeared to have been thrown down and crumpled, but were meant to actually look like that (reminded me of a sea creature.) The room was clean, as was the bathroom, with the exception of the entire floor of the shower bay, which was a yellow/tan colour. Maybe it was clean, but if it was, then it was obviously stained and really needs replacing. It was extremely off putting. Walls are thin and I heard the person in the next room showering. The male at Reception was quite dour. I did not have to stay the night as my water problem was rectified so I went home. Good value, but I would not stay here again. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, even though the property is non smoking.

Fantastic room, easy to access, great car parking, and lots of space. Very comfortable beds, nice separate lounge, huge bathroom. Only 5 minutes from restaurants and cinema Nth Hobart. Check-in was efficient, staff friendly, and a welcome drink!

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat,sun,mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. Ia adalah mudah untuk memandu ke pasar raya. Bukan baru tapi okay, lif ni agak menakutkan dan bergegar bila berhenti. Tambahan pula, tempat letak kereta tidak cukup luas. Jika setiap bilik dipandu dengan kereta, dianggarkan tempat letak kereta tidak mencukupi, tetapi ia percuma ketika parkir.

I had to complete a few circular routes off Brooker Highway as I kept bypassing the entrance. We had booked a Riverview Motel Room and certainly enjoyed the location and lovely views of the gardens, river and nearby mountains. All welcoming and efficiency at reception, everything ready for our 2 night stay, great advice on restaurant and other facilities and a very good selection of brochures for attractions, both local and further afield. Parking in front of the Unit, very good facilities although a little dated, another comfortable bed. Checkout easy.

Great 2 bedroom unit that we used as our base for 5 nights exploring the bottom half of Tassie. Living area isn’t huge and the kitchen is small, however it’s all very functional and works well. Bedrooms and bathroom facilities upstairs with comfy beds and bathrooms are great - fantastic shower pressure. Laundry facilities are good with 5 washing machines and dryers, and you can grab extra coffee, sugar, towels from here also anytime. Didn’t use the pool but it looks great. Parking is easy with parks straight outside your unit doors. Overall, great place to stay, but quite hilly if are wanted to walk into the city.

We chose to stay here due to the proximity to the airport on our last night of our Tassie holiday. The first thing you need to be aware of is that the signage at the road entry says 'Ramada' in big letters, so we actually drove past the first time. It's not until you go in that you see the Club Wyndham sign. Check in was friendly and efficient. This accommodation is part of a holiday scheme so I was asked if I would like to receive a presentation, with nibblies laid on - I mentioned that my partner and I are both retired so that went no further. Our accommodation was a queen suite with two bedrooms. We were really impressed with the presentation, cleanliness, kitchen utilities, full sized fridge, laundry facilities (behind a door in the kitchen), outdoor area with table and chairs to seat 6, and the little extra touches like complementary water, paper towel in the kitchen. The only reason we did not rate this accommodation as 5 stars is because we found the bed to be unbelievably uncomfortable - which we reported on departure. Everything else was fantastic. There is plenty of opportunity to go for nature walks with Seven Mile Beach accessible just across the road, bush on the property with walking tracks, and a lovely little free hobby farm with sheep, goats, cows, alpacas, chickens. There is also a chapel set up in the bush which is popular for weddings. There is a restaurant on the grounds - Beaches Restaurant - which we decided to get takeaway from and enjoy in our suite. It was parmy night and we were able to order and be called in our room when it was ready. Delicious meals we really enjoyed. Wifi is available but is not free unless you are a Lifestyle by Wyndham owner. Bicycles are available for guests. There is a pool, tennis court, BBQs, and a gym and games room. Apart from the uncomfortable bed we really enjoyed our stay here. A very relaxing spot to end our Tassie trip.

No lifts and precarious staircases No-one to help with luggage Super small TV that was not much bigger than my laptop screen! Hard to get someone to answer the phone at reception - either before arrival or when you are staying There is no aircon - it did not bother us as it was winter, but worth noting if visiting in summer The main part of the building is freezing cold - the staff were wearing overcoats to serve, which did not look professional at all, but completely understood why they did as it was less than 10 degrees in the restaurant area Breakfast was stone cold and had to be sent back (only 3 other people staying, so not busy) Breakfast included baked beans but we were given a serving of just 9 baked beans.... There are just 2 young Asian girls running the 'hotel' - they work crazy hours and seem to do everything from check-in, to waitressing, cooking and possibly make the rooms up too!! The 'hotel' main door is locked at 9.30pm and we were essentially left alone in the building all night Key information not provided on check-in - ie breakfast runs from 7.45am to 9.15am only or info on wi-fi We don't recall any fire evacuation details in the room (but maybe we missed it?). We could not find any emergency contact details either in the room if something happened at night We had to remind the staff we had a Luxury Escapes package to get the basket of produce and a free drink AND..... think about bringing your own towels! They have a policy of charging $50 if you get any make-up on the white towels!! Fortunately we saw this and used the make-up remover they had in the bathroom but we were so paranoid of getting any marks on anything!!! We suggest they have darker coloured towels because we felt this was a ridiculous rule when you pay so much to stay in the first place. Would we stay again? No. We left feeling stressed and not at all relaxed, It is not a 5 star location at all - just a lovely 'home' that is more akin to a boutique B&B. We considered eating dinner but with just 3 mains to choose from, we couldn't justify the cost at all. Overall, the villa needs some maintenance and with the 2 young girls run off their feet, we're not sure how this will ever be done. It could be so much better. We were slightly disappointed as this had been a weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday!
