At first I was a little unsure how I felt about staying in a hotel that was so far out of the way of the centre, but upon arrival, and upon finding out that the taxi services have fixed fares, it really brightened up my image of the Days Inn. Its a comfortable little hotel, that isn't trying to do too much, and is simply inviting you in for a good nights sleep, before sending you on your way to enjoy whatever you've come to Telford to do. This isn't some big established 5 star hotel, it isn't set up with large flat screen TVs to waste your time watching movies on, its got a small TV for background sound, and a comfy bed to fall asleep on. The shower has really good water pressure, the rooms are tidy and clean, and really the hotel is just a no hassle simple hotel that is just doing what it needs to do. The staff in particular are lovely people, we were greeted by Shannon when we first arrived, and she was honestly a bundle of joy. She was welcoming, friendly, and even had a decent knowledge of local events, so had managed to guess what we'd come down to Telford for that weekend. It helped that she was also a good source for local information, and was happy to help provide us with anything we needed. Sam on Nights was also a great laugh, my friend who was sharing the room with me suffers from insomnia, and so was struggling to get to sleep. However, Sam was friendly and chatty with her, and made it less painful, rather than leaving her to wander about stressing in an unfamiliar location with no sleep. The other ladies on reception were also lovely, but unfortunately I forgot to grab their names, but even the hotel manager is a cheerful and friendly person, who really makes you feel welcome. It also just felt nice seeing a hotel manager actually working alongside her staff, and interacting with guests, rather than hiding in a back office and leaving the team to handle everything. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, which met our needs perfectly, and offered a really comfortable bed to pass out on after a long exciting weekend. It wasn't our first choice, but it might be our only choice when next we return to Telford!
