Great hostel right on the water. Great view from the balcony. Has excellent staff and a great vibe. Rent a bike or scooter from the hostel and check out the boardwalk. Downstairs is a great bar serving excellent food and has the best action on weekends.

PPengguna TetamuA very pleasant 3 nights. Very roomy hotel,in pristine condition.In walking distance of main shopping mall an numerous restaurants.impossible to find any faults. Will definitely be 1st choice when we return to New Plymouth. The staff were unobtrusive but very helpful if required. Easy and convenient parking.

What a beautiful place! Spotlessly clean, quiet, fantastic shower and a cute little kitchen space with a microwave and everything provided. We arrived early and were able to check-in early which was great. Rooms (we were in a triple, with a single bed and 2 singles made up as a queen) were a good size so we weren't falling over each other. Would happily make this our place to stay when we come to NP.

PPengguna TetamuLarge room, very clean and well equipped, air con, fridge, microwave, well situated in the town and easy parking. Pleasant staff, would go again. Only drawback was no milk for drinks but we didn't really need it! Difficult to find a nice bar but eventually found Good Home with rooftop bar!

As I mentioned at reception the room service staff replaced towels that were hung up and which I was happy to use again (contrary to what it said on the card in the bathroom and is now standard practice in most hotels). That was an extra 4 towels to the laundry over 5 days for one room - this all adds up - I am just thinking of the planet and also the autolodge laundry bills!

Being my first time in a backpackers solo and as an older female I found it a good introduction to using backpackers. The environment was relaxed and friendly, staff were friendly and helpful, everything was very very clean and even though communal areas (bathrooms, kitchen) could do with a freshen up with maintenance the price point was in line. I’d happily stay again.

Great location. Clean, modern units. Hosts were very friendly and easy to deal with when we booked. It’s an easy walk into town from the motel - we were there for the Matariki light festival and it was easier to walk than find parking in town. We were warm and cosy in our unit. Highly recommend for a budget conscious option.

PPengguna TetamuWhat a beautifully presented place to stay. The owner is so helpful, friendly and welcoming and the room was beautifully presented with its own kitchen. It was so cozy and warm. Location was really good too for walkers who like to explore walks. Very handy to the coastal walkway. And for Mac Donald's fans, it's right across the road. Highly recommend the Amber Court Motel.
