My family stayed at the Hotel Kramer during June of this year. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. Our room had air conditioning which is not always the norm in Europe. The breakfast provided was very good and had a lot of choices. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is 10 minutes from the central station and within walking distance of the cultural and commercial districts of the city as well as the famous "Stodolni" street.

Disappointed doesn’t cover it. I’ve stayed before and it’s a good quality hotel. But what to make of a 4 star hotel that accepts your booking at its normal rate without telling you that all the facilities it has that make it a 4 star - little things like the bar, the restaurant, the gym, room service, etc - won’t be working for the duration of your stay? So as my biog says “you get what you pay for”…only here I did not get what I paid for. I got a 2 star hotel experience for a 4 star hotel price. But it’s the dishonesty of the management that sticks in my craw. They knew they were selling me a substandard experience from their norm yet didn’t have the grace to let me know or to adjust the price to reflect what they were actually selling me. My experience aside: the room was good quality and the three members of staff we met in this ghost town hotel were truly excellent and helpful. Can’t praise them more. When I said we were checking out after 1 night of a scheduled 5 night stay they facilitated this and made the process easy. But the honest thing to have done would have been to keep the hotel closed or offer a discount - there were only 13 rooms out of 140 occupied on the night. Maybe their contract with Accor won’t allow them to do either but this experience has been my worst in the many hotels across the world I’ve stayed in this year. And I’m a fan of Mercure hotels too! I recently spent a week here and found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. The room was quiet and well-kept. The bed was just right, not too hard and not too soft. The bathroom was spotless. There were plenty of outlets and the lighting was more than sufficient. Reception was businesslike and professional. The breakfast offered had plenty of choices and was quite filling, especially as it was sometimes my only meal of the day. The only negatives were that the room was sometimes too hot and when ordering from the set menu in the restaurant at dinner, they were unwilling to accommodate dietary restrictions, telling us that no changes could be made. I would readily stay here again should my travels take me back to Ostrava in the future.
