Great hotel On bike 4pute through the islands, wonderful sanctuary. Staff were particularly helpful and helped find a missing piece of jewellery and send it to me once I had left. Musa especially was wonderful!

The room wasn't large, but it was well-laid out, and the provided loungewear was very comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here for one night after a two-day cycling trip.

I made a reservation to visit Oyamazumi Shrine on Omishima Island for my first shrine visit of the year. We arrived shortly after arriving on the island. The location offers beautiful views of the ocean and bridge, and the scenery is amazing! As it was New Year's, the closures of nearby restaurants were uncertain, but they kindly explained the situation to me and I tried to choose from available options and make a reservation, but some restaurants ended up closing temporarily, so I ended up eating at the hotel. I had heard that they offered hayashi rice and curry rice, so I chose the latter. The portion was moderate, but the meat was tender and delicious! There was a kind of super public bathhouse, and apparently they offered free tickets and even free shuttle service. We went there in our own car, which I thought was great hospitality considering the hotel only had showers. There was also a seawater bath, and it was popular with locals. Both the changing room and bath were spacious, so I didn't feel cramped. It was cloudy so I couldn't see the stars, but I could tell that I would have seen some beautiful stars. Breakfast was served on a single plate, and you could only choose your drink. The croissant was so delicious I wanted a refill lol. I couldn't finish my drink, so I asked if I could take it to my room, and they gladly agreed. Thank you. Maybe the bed was a little hard? My partner and I both ended up with back pain, so that's the only negative.

The hotel is located a short ride ahead from the Totolombo Bridge. The entire hotel has a great design, and the staff speaks excellent English, making communication very easy. There's a cafe inside facing the sea and the bridge, where we had afternoon tea, dinner, and lunch. There are also some other cafes nearby, and you can take a free shuttle bus, but we were too lazy to go out. We booked a cottage room that directly faces the bridge and the sea—it was beautiful! The room was also very comfortable. Highly recommended!

The scenery was nice, and the room was clean and tidy, but there were no Chinese introductions, and the entire hotel lacked Chinese signage. The windows weren't heat-insulating either. I hope these improvements will be made next time.

Unfortunately, my itinerary didn't work out, so I couldn't stay there. I hope I can go again sometime.

Just as the reviews said, the staff were very polite and we were very happy!! The sea was close by, the BBQ dinner was delicious, and we had a relaxing day enjoying nature! We didn't do any cycling or other activities and just stayed overnight, but it was great!!

It's quite unique, but be prepared for a bit of hardship.

Absolute surprise, very clean, nice environment, and there is a very delicious Japanese restaurant opposite. The service was very good. The clerk even took us to his orchard to pick lemons and make lemonade.

This is a very good hotel. I didn't stay at the hotel last time when it was fully booked. This time I made a reservation in advance and my husband and son enjoyed our stay. We rode along Shimanami Kaido from Imabari. Due to the hot weather, we started late and arrived at the hotel 2 hours later than scheduled. However, the hotel service staff kept in touch with us frequently after receiving our emails and reminded us of things to pay attention to on night bus routes. Upon arrival, the service staff gave a very warm welcome. The next day was still too hot, so we were sent to Tatara Ohashi Park. This is a very reassuring hotel that feels like home. We stayed in the cafe the next day, looking out the window at the sea, sailboats, sunshine, and listening to bossa nova music, everything slowed down. Thank you for giving us a safe and warm journey.

Cycling overnight, great hotel, but unfortunately the time was short

WAKKA was easily one of the best stays of our trip and exceeded our expectations in every way. The cycling support is outstanding. Having our luggage transferred ahead and our bikes waiting for us at Onomichi Station made the entire Shimanami Kaido experience completely stress-free. The bikes were excellent, comfortable, well-maintained, and a pleasure to ride for the whole route. The Residence itself was fantastic. Spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable after a long day on the bike. One feature that deserves special mention is the washer-dryer. It might sound like a small thing, but during a multi-day cycling trip, being able to wash and dry our clothes overnight was an absolute luxury and one of the most appreciated amenities of our entire journey. The hospitality was exceptional. The staff were warm, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about helping guests enjoy the region. As a lovely bonus, they even provided us with complimentary tickets to the onsen next door, which was the perfect way to relax after a day of cycling. What makes WAKKA special is that they’ve thought of everything. From the cycling logistics to the accommodation and little touches that make guests feel cared for, everything is designed to make your trip effortless and memorable. If we ever cycle the Shimanami Kaido again, there is no question where we’ll stay. WAKKA isn’t just accommodation, it’s part of what made the trip unforgettable. Note: We met a really cute cat in the property. She is completely harmless and very shy. She would never try to get into the room if you worry about that. She is the sweetest and she made our stay even more memorable. If you ever go to the family mart next door, she would greatly appreciate it if you get her a salmon, it would cost less than a dollar. If you are allergic etc, please don’t be put off as she won’t even approach as she is very shy

On day one two quality Specialised Vado ebikes were delivered to us at Ominichi and our bags taken to Wakka after we were familiarised with our bikes.My son got a puncture enroute but after notifying Wakka a bike mechanic arrived in 30 minutes, replaced our wheel and we were on our way. On arrival we were shown to our stylish two bedroom chalet overlooking the Seto Sea and Tatara Bridge, our base for four nights. .We had a self cooked barbecue on our deck that evening and enjoyed great breakfasts on each morning of our four day stay. Wakka is ideally located for exploring the Kamijma Islands by ferry and exploring by bike and the Tobishima Kaido islands to the west. Wakka’s advice on our plans each day was invaluable and allowed us to really enjoy the quieter islands and their beautiful roads, villages ands beaches.Advice on ferry timetables was especially useful.
