The Kilmorey Lodge in Waterton has been beautifully re-built and renovated. Our accommodation was high class, comfortable & affordable. The restaurant food was delicious & the staff & service was excellent.( Reservation needed.)
If there was one negative it would be that the lighting in the restaurant was a little too dark & that the staff had to turn off the fire & open the door to cool off the dining room despite the minus temperatures & snow outside. Parking is easy at the property but not underground as Waterton is a village in a National Park.
The hotel overlooks the lake but our room overlooked the surrounding mountains across the small parking lot.
Waterton Village was not yet open for the season ( worthy of a visit also ) but we could still have enjoyed some limited open hiking trails or lakeside walk and took scenic drives through the mountains where the snow had been cleared & we encountered wildlife such as Big Horn Sheep & deer along the roadside with stunning views of several frozen waterfalls as the area had some frigidly low temperatures. So wrap up well in extreme cold layers or visit in the summer as the hotel is open year round !
