The Toucan Inn

HORRIBLE....HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE. Booked a room, for Sept 15, 2025 the night before. Website said they were open and available. Showed up at 3:00 PM. Nobody there. Drove around for a bit. Came back at 4:00 PM. Nobody there. Tried whatsapp. Called their number...........NOTHING. This is a small town and I need AC to sleep. I am an older gentleman. Left a note on their front door that I had to find accommodations before dark for driving, and I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED this is how they run things, AND I COULD NOT WAIT ANY LONGER. I asked via a long note attacthed the FRONT LOBBY DOOR, that they reverse the 50% deposit, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATION, or internet contract. The business was completely closed!!!!. Guess what these rocket scientists did.....pushed through the charge on an elderly old man because they have no morals. They were still trying to rip me off. DISGUSTING. I will pray for these predators and hope they find a conscious. BTW.... Have a full video of this and can post it.

Friendly and efficient, great restaurant and fast internet connection. Good value and newly refurbished. Looking forward to the new swimming pool next time!

We enjoyed our stay at Toucan Inn. The room was clean and spacious. The AC worked great and there was plenty of hot water! The only thing that would have been perfect would’ve been having a hair dryer and a mini-fridge in the room. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant. I do think they would benefit from more staffing because it took quite a while to bring the food.

The rooms were updated and clean. There was a desk and chair which was convenient. The bathroom door opened inward which made space to walk around the toilet, awkward. The vanity mirror in the sink area, didn't have a light. We arrived around supper time & was informed the restaurant was having a private event so would not be available to us. It was a holiday weekend & many other places were closed in the village. The next morning, we were going to have breakfast but they were very understaffed & still hadn't gotten our food after almost 2 hours of waiting. The restaurant was quite busy with only 1 server and 1 cook. I had a meeting so had to leave without getting my order. Outside the lack of food options and staff shortage, the rooms and beds were fine, the grounds were well taken care of, the parking felt secure. Hope they can find more people to staff the restaurant. I did hear the food was good once you got it.

We have stayed at Toucan several times and enjoy all their services. The food from the restaurant is excellent.

The Restaurant is a beautiful and cultural experience that I enjoy over and over again. The wait staff is very kind and accommodating. The food is true to the Belizean culture which I look for when I travel. That is all I have to say now I’m filling
