"This hotel offers excellent service. As soon as we walked in, staff were there to help with our luggage, and their inquiry service was very helpful without being intrusive. The hotel boasts a superb location right by the Li River, allowing guests to fish directly from the riverbank and enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful Li River. Being in the city center also makes it very convenient to visit many attractions and pedestrian streets. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, though we did have a minor issue last night: the projector in our reserved room was a bit blurry, but it didn't really affect our overall experience! The hotel also provides a complimentary laundry service, where they wash, bag, and return your clothes to your room – incredibly thoughtful. For Christmas, they offered a special DIY Christmas knot braiding activity and Christmas coffee, which was a lovely touch. The hotel breakfast is also extensive, and you can enjoy delicious Guilin rice noodles without even leaving the hotel. I highly recommend staying here."

"This might be the most satisfying hotel I've ever stayed at in China. Our family of four booked a family room. The environment was incredibly comfortable, with river views right outside, and shopping and dining were super convenient. What's most worth mentioning is their service; every single staff member was full of smiles. The front desk, managers, restaurant staff, and even the cleaning ladies all made us feel right at home. We received a fruit platter upon check-in, a complimentary Guilin specialty dish (beer fish), and afternoon tea vouchers. The restaurant's food was also excellent. I can't praise it enough; I highly recommend choosing this hotel if you're visiting Guilin. I will definitely be back!"

"This hotel is perfect for family trips with kids; if you're visiting Guilin with children, you absolutely shouldn't miss it. **Location**: Conveniently located in Guilin city center, just two or three kilometers from Guilin Station—a few minutes by taxi. It's also only about 1 kilometer from Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area and Zhengyang Road Pedestrian Street. **Facilities**: We stayed on the family-themed floor with our kids. The room was spacious and featured bunk beds with a slide, a kids' table, a small tent, a rocking horse, and a large bathtub—perfect for soaking away the day's fatigue. There's also a kids' play area in the hallway, which was a huge hit; our child could play there all day and didn't want to leave! **Breakfast**: Breakfast is served on the 9th floor. It's extensive, offering Guilin rice noodles, mini wontons, Guilin oil tea, and a wide variety of other dishes—everything you could wish for. **Service**: The front desk staff provided excellent service, helping us with our luggage. They even assisted with laundry, washing and drying our clothes in the washing machine and then delivering them back to our room. You don't have to worry about a thing when you stay here. **Environment**: The 9th floor has a pool and an observation deck that's great for photos. There's a large frame that makes every shot look like a masterpiece of a thousand miles of rivers and mountains. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Guilin."

It offers panoramic views of Elephant Trunk Hill directly across the river. The hotel environment is quiet with fresh air, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. There's an independent parking lot, and the shuttle buggies are readily available on call, which is very convenient. Our room was spotless and tidy, and the family room even thoughtfully provided two plush toys for the kids."

"Guilin was my last stop. Coming from a small town to a bustling Guilin, even during the off-season, all the attractions were still crowded. The hotel's food and facilities are very complete, making it great for family trips (because it has playground facilities that kids love). Plus, they offer freshly ground coffee at breakfast, which is definitely worth mentioning. The room amenities are all well-equipped, it's just that the pillows were a bit too soft, not as ideal for sleep as I'd hoped, but still acceptable."

There are also plenty of dining options nearby, from convenience stores to specialty restaurants, so you'll never have to worry about finding something to eat or a late-night snack. Even if you don't leave your room, there are many takeout options, and a robot delivers right to your door! **Room Environment:** Equally satisfying. I stayed in a deluxe king room, which was clean and tidy with a simple yet modern decor that felt very comfortable. The bedding was soft, ensuring a restful sleep. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, making for a refreshing wash. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation and a large bathtub, which my child absolutely loved! They even thoughtfully provided children's slippers and toiletries when they knew we had a child, which was a huge plus! **Public Areas:** Also very thoughtfully designed. The lobby is spacious and bright, with tasteful decor, making it a pleasant place to wait or relax. I also made sure to visit the heated infinity pool on the rooftop, which is definitely the hotel's 'star attraction.' Even if you're not swimming, it's a great spot to sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of Guilin's scenic landscapes. **Parking Service:** The hotel has its own parking lot with ample free spaces for guests. Both the entrance and parking lot are clearly marked, which was a huge relief for someone like me who arrived by car. **Breakfast Buffet:** The variety was excellent, with both Chinese and Western options. Beyond common items like congee, noodles, pastries, salads, and fruits, there were also some local specialties. You absolutely must try the dry-mixed Guilin rice noodles – they're delicious! 🥰 Overall, this stay far exceeded my expectations. From the convenient location and comfortable rooms to the attentive service and delicious breakfast, everything was spot on. It offers great value for money, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit and recommend it to friends."

"Environment: This is by far the hotel with the most beautiful garden views in the vicinity. Seriously, every step is a picturesque scene, and it's only a 3-minute walk to the Li River. The hotel also has a great lounge bar, and there's a osmanthus tree at the entrance that smells amazing in autumn. Enjoying a cigarette and a drink there really sets a great mood. We stayed in two different room types, and I highly recommend the suite! The staff are exceptionally professional and have excellent attitudes. There are electric scooters for rent right outside the hotel for 30 a day, which makes getting around super convenient. They also have a laundry room with dryers, so it's easy to wash wet clothes. And the most important thing – the hotel's restaurant! This was the best food we've had all trip, much better than what's offered at the scenic spots. The chef truly has skill. If you're coming to the Li River, you can't go wrong choosing this place."

"I took my daughter to this hotel. The courtyard is unique and peaceful. The room isn't large, but the bathroom is spacious enough. The air conditioning was already on when we arrived. It was a wonderful summer stay. The housekeepers and front desk staff were very polite, and the guy who helped me with my luggage was very patient, waiting for us for a long time. The hotel pool is right outside the room, and below it is the river and the wind and rain bridge, making it very convenient for the kids to play in the water and change clothes. It was a very satisfying experience and I'll be back next time."

"As a local from Guilin, whenever friends or relatives visit from out of town, I always recommend the Universal Hotel first. It's even better after the renovation a few years ago. The facilities are comprehensive, giving you a very comfortable, home-like feeling. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the views are absolutely stunning! You can enjoy a panoramic view of Guilin city and its beautiful landscape right from your room. Transportation is convenient, whether you're taking a taxi or a shared electric scooter. It's also within walking distance to several of Guilin's main attractions, making it perfect for young people to enjoy a city walk."

The hotel also offers electric scooters for rent at a very reasonable price, and you can even rent ethnic costumes for an hour to take photos. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the environment is clean and hygienic. The room had no strange odors and excellent natural light. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the afternoon tea was also great – sitting in the sun, enjoying the view, and having afternoon tea was incredibly pleasant.
