"I chose the Crowne Plaza out of several five-star options, but honestly, I was quite disappointed. Let me get straight to the point, as this review will be long. For guests, it all comes down to service, room facilities, and location. The service was average, the room facilities were average, and the location was only slightly above average. So, my recommendation is also just average, or even less – I wouldn't recommend it.
First, the good points. Since it was my birthday, the hotel upgraded my room, offering a 270-degree view. You pay for all the good views in Shenzhen, and seeing the beautiful sunset definitely brightened my mood. There was also a simple decoration and a small birthday cake.
The breakfast selection was quite rich with many choices.
Next, the location. The closest shopping mall is MixC World, about two kilometers away.
Then, the room amenities. The moment I walked in, I saw the bathtub. For someone like me who lacks a sense of security, it felt really awkward – bathing right by the door? There wasn't even a screen for privacy. Also, for a hotel costing over 1000 yuan, the toilet wasn't smart, and in this weather, it was really freezing cold.
When I checked in, I specifically asked the front desk if they would deliver my takeout or if I needed to pick it up myself. The front desk replied that they could deliver it before 11 PM, but after 11 PM, I'd have to go down to the concierge on the 3rd floor to get it. That night, around 9:30 PM, the delivery rider said the food had arrived. We even told the rider that someone or a robot would bring the food up. We waited until 10 PM, thinking they might be too busy, so we decided to go down and get it ourselves. The concierge then told us that guests need to pick up their own takeout. Firstly, the whole point of ordering takeout is because I'm lazy. Secondly, I ordered it within the timeframe the front desk said they could deliver. When I asked the front desk again, they said we needed to inform them so they could ask the concierge to deliver it. Why wouldn't they just have the concierge deliver it directly? Why make the customer go through the extra step of telling the front desk to have my takeout sent to the room? Didn't I order takeout to minimize walking and eat promptly? I even put my room number in the delivery notes. It's truly baffling that a five-star hotel in 2026 doesn't have takeout robots.
I'm very grateful for the complimentary cake, which tasted great, and they also asked us for a preferred delivery time. However, after telling them the time, it still wasn't delivered an hour later. We truly didn't take a shower and just waited anxiously, afraid of missing the cake delivery. Of course, the staff apologized profusely in the end.
From every aspect, this hotel has a very, very, very large room for improvement."
