We are appreciative that The Chen Court Yard guest house provided us airport and transfer. The daily breakfast is indeed unique and make us feel warm. We must also thank Miss Chen for drawing up our 2-day itinerary in Kin Men. This has saved us lot of planning. She also helped us to book the ferry tickets . The court yard has tastefully designed and retains it local heritage. We will not hesitant to recommend this to others stay at Chen’s Court yard.

Everything was great 😊  Best service ever, the landlord provided free pick up and drop off airport, and even help to buy breakfast every morning. The place is a little far from town area but taking the bus was easy and it’s quite near to bus station. It was a great experience staying in Zhushan village that we will treasure. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed my stay in this minsu, the host was great and helpful. Helped to reserve our ferry tickets in advance, picked us up at the kinmen ferry terminal and offered to send us there on our return trip. Gave us lots of recommendations. The traditional house was great, like the ambience, very clean compact (being an old house) but has everything like washer, water dispenser, even a vinyl player with old nostalgic songs!

What I liked: the location is very convenient if you’re coming to Kinmen from Xiamen. The homestay is walking distance from Shuitou Port (about 15 minutes). The owner is a very friendly and helpful person. He helped me rent an electric motorcycle and responded very fast to all of my text messages. The homestay is clean (the cleaning lady is very kind, too! ^^). There’s a lot of storage space as well as lockers. The shampoo and body wash in the bathroom were also really nice. What could be improved: the bunk beds consists of a wooden plank and bedding, so it was quite hard and a bit uncomfortable. However, I still managed to sleep well and there’s enough privacy. There are no locks in the homestay. Basically anyone from outside can access the public areas and the room with the bunk beds, which can be scary for some solo travelers. However, the homestay has security cameras and Kinmen is very safe in general, so I was never really worried. The door of the room is quite heavy and makes a lot of noise, so this is something to be mindful of when it’s late and you’re sharing the room with other guests. All in all, I had a great experience and would stay here again. I’m really happy to have had the opportunity to stay at a traditional house for such an affordable price.

A beautiful, historic homestay near the port with excellent service. High-quality bedding and comfortable beds. Walking in and hearing Celine Dion made it even more quaint 😂 Jack was super helpful with information about the ferry tickets, and even made an extra trip back to the port because I Ieft my umbrella behind. And his mom was very kind and welcoming too. A note to those who may be sensitive: there was a faint musty smell, which I’ve found common to many hotels and guest houses in humid climates like Taiwan. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers, since you can hear courtyard and street noise in the room. Plan ahead for cash: nearby restaurants are cash-only, and the nearest atm is at 7-11, about a 20 minute walk away.

Kivala hostel is great. It's really clean, all the instructions given by the owner through Line are very clear. On top of that, you will live the experience of staying in a Kinmen traditional house. I really recommend it. L'auberge Kivala est superbe. Elle est vraiment propre et les indications fournies via Line par le propriétaire sont très claires. I stayed at Tumbler Travel during my visit to Kinmen and found it to be a solid option if you’re looking for budget, no-frills accommodation with a bit of character. Location & vibe: Tumbler Travel is located in Jinning Township, not right in the busy center but close enough to key spots like Kinmen National Park and the airport — it’s only a short ride away, which was super convenient. Some reviewers said the area isn’t super lively with restaurants right outside, but it’s peaceful and a good base for exploring by bike or scooter.  Cleanliness & facilities: Guests generally mention that the rooms are clean and comfortable, with free Wi-Fi and basic amenities like air-conditioning, a fridge, and reliable water. It’s not a luxury place — think simple yet functional.  One recommended feature is that it offers free airport transfer (with prior notice), which is handy if you’re flying into Kinmen.  Service & atmosphere: Reviews note that the host was welcoming and helpful, especially if you’re a solo traveler. Multiple guests talked about a smooth check-in and staff who were happy to share tips about the island or help with directions.  It’s described as a nice youth hostel vibe, with shared spaces and a relaxed feel — good for meeting other travelers if you’re not in a hurry to disappear into your room.  Food & convenience: A couple of guests pointed out that there isn’t much in the way of on-site dining or restaurants right next door, so you might have to plan where your meals are if you’re not riding around or exploring on foot. 

pros: 1. Located in city center and walkable to everywhere. 2. Free transportation from and to the port 3. Bed and room cleanness is okay Cons: 1. Soundproof not very well, was weakened by others guests talking outsides. 2. Shampoo, shower gel and toliet tissue quality not good. 3. The shower holder can’t change direction that you have to hold it one hand all the time during shower. And not dry/wet separation in the bathroom.

很安靜的一個社區，非常乾淨，位置也很好，門口就是康是美 和 寶雅，到金城老街也很方便，老闆人超級好，下次還會來。
