"This new hotel is very clean and perfect location except the door lock is not working properly. It is not perfectly fit and the room except to pull harder to lock it. Besides, the room has no telephone which causes inconvenience if you need help. I spent an hour to keep going down to look for help several times.

"Upon arrival, despite the location being great, the appearance of the hotel was unattractive, with building work happening beneath.
The lifts take quite a long time moving.
My biggest issue, whilst the room was presented well, great tv, plush carpet, spacious bathroom… there was no air conditioning and no windows could open. The heat of the room was intense, especially with the blaring sun hitting all big windows (this was a corner room). I had to keep curtains closed at all times as the heat was unbearable. This was during a heatwave and the temp outside was 31 degrees.
I would go in the bathroom to get a light bit of coolness.
I asked for a fan, which reception gave me, but it was no help really, there was no air in the room, the heat was awful and personally, think it not fit for guests to stay in."

"Location is superb. A few mins walk if coming by coach. Located in Cardiff centre. Super convenient from banking, shopping to F&B. Happening street. 10mins walk or so if going to Cardiff Central train station. Good security where u need room access card to enter each floor room and also into hotel building which is inside an arcade after 7pm. Friendly n helpful staff. Clean n spacious room different furniture configuration for our 2 rooms booked. . Clean n new towels. AC room with mini fridge n a safe deposit box but mind isn't working though. Complementary Welcome drinks n snack in mini bar which only found out later on upon inquiry of Mineral water. Laminated floor which is a super point for us due to hygienic reason. Bathrobes provided bathroom will get wet easily coz without a door. . Toiletries n disposal slippers provided upon request. Body lotion, body wash, hair shampoo n conditioner provided. House keeping should be more thorough. Wastebin in bathroom not emptied for our 3days stay. Used cups not replaced with new ones at all. Sachets of drinks also not filled up. Overall, Satisfied n will come back again.."

"I had a very good experience staying at Hilton Cardiff. The hotel felt extremely safe and well managed throughout my stay. One thing I noticed is that they are very strict about not allowing visitors after 9 PM. At first, it was a bit disappointing, but honestly, it also made me feel much safer knowing they take security seriously.
The service was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were always kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed, which made the whole experience feel very welcoming.
My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was also cleaned during my stay, which I really appreciated and added to the overall comfort.
The location is another big advantage the hotel is just steps away from Cardiff Castle, making it perfect for exploring the city. It’s also only about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central railway station, which made getting there and around very convenient.
One morning I decided to try the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely worth it. There were many options to choose from, including pastries, hot food, fruit, and drinks. They also had coffee machines with very good coffee, which made the breakfast experience even better.
Another highlight was the bar downstairs it had a great atmosphere and was a really nice place to relax after a day of exploring.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cardiff, especially if you value comfort, excellent service, a great location, and above all, feeling safe during your stay."

"Decent hotel, centrally located close to the train station making it a very convenient place to stay. Staff very welcoming and took into account my special request and booked me a quiet room which was appreciated.
Breakfast, nothing special, just like any other hotel breakfast in the uk. Good views at the breakfast area, staff on hand to help and often going out of their way to help.
Service was 10/10.

"I had a very enjoyable stay at Leonardo Hotel Cardiff. The room was well-presented, spacious, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a larger suite. The service throughout my stay was excellent; staff were attentive, responded promptly to any requests, and went out of their way to ensure everything was seamless. A particular highlight was being offered a takeaway breakfast to accommodate my early train departure, which I greatly appreciated.
The only minor drawback was that the room could be somewhat noisy at times. However, this did not detract significantly from what was otherwise a very positive experience. I would be pleased to stay here again."

"Like a few hotels in Cardiff, the Marriott is really convenient for the railway station. We chose it because we have stayed there before and enjoyed it.
The reception staff were polite and friendly. The room (Superior Double) was quite roomy - but where were the bathrobes?
The noise from the streets is quite loud, but it was a Friday night, so to be expected, really.
We went to the Utilita arena for a concert, and it was a five minute walk away.
I had earplugs to use in the hotel, very useful because of the inconsiderate guests who chatted loudly in the corridor at 1130pm.
Comfy bed, in fact, a very comfy bed.
Unfortunately, our room had an interconnecting door, and we were woken up early by loud guests next door discussing their plans for the day. Something to9 avoid next time.
Breakfast was ok, not the best - but adequate, though. The Cardiff lady with the 'top-knot' who said ”yoh” instead of ”yes” like a true Afrikaans was lovely and very welcoming. In fact, every member of staff we spoke to was nice.
I'd stay here again, but maybe only at the beginning of the week."

"Hotel is ok if you want a night in Cardiff but its very noisey, found it difficult to sleep baecause you can here all the noise on St Marys Street, also there was no bottle water in room which was disappointing for money spent."

EEve T.All in all, a good place to stay in Cardiff. First up, the location is prime - near to many food places and the castle. Very nice place to walk around, plenty of bars, plenty of restaurants and cafes. The room itself was lovely and indeed cozy, it does feel like home having a small kitchenette that has all the basic things - microwave, dishwasher, pots and plates, utensils etc. Washing machine that has both clean and dry feature is available so you could do your laundry. Cleanliness was okay, not the best I have seen, but it isn't like unacceptably dirty unless you are an OCD and expect a spotless area with not even a strand of feather left. This place could have potentially gotten my 100% excellence rate stars if the last night being there didn't spook me out. The stay was decent and very enjoyable until the last night at 1 midnight, the service phone in the room rang for no reason - a good 30s probably. I did not answer of course, but I immediately dropped a message to the support team to ask if they were trying to reach me (I couldn't find any reason if they would though). Support team was good before the stay that they tend to my queries quite promptly, but failed to reply me on my query on that spooky room call that I had in the middle of the night out of no where.
I haven't gotten any explanation or a good answer for what had happened but I definitely had a terrible sleep that night and can't wait to check out the next morning.

Spacious n super clean room. Has AC n heating system as well during this winter season. Fresh n clean towel with body shampoo, hair shampoo n conditioner provided. Toiletries available upon request.

PPengguna TetamuI requested a room away from the road and got one which was appreciated. Really warm welcome from reception staff on arrival and in the restaurant at breakfast, which was excellent. Reception areas, bar, restaurant and lifts were all modern, clean and offered plenty of seating. Our room was very clean and the bed/pillows were very comfortable. If i was being really picky the room, bathroom and corridor could probably do with a refurb or bit of tlc but for a 1 or 2 night stay the hotel ticks all the boxes and we were really pleased that we chose Holiday Inn.

I booked the superior room with tree lined view and asked for a quiet room: the receptionist gave me an extremely cold and noisy room right next to the motorway and above some nightclubs. My watch has identified the noise level is over the normal limit. I couldn’t fall asleep due to the loud noise even at midnight. I called the receptionist to change a room. Unfortunately, they first gave me a standard room that the heating system was not working and much smaller than I have paid for. The two maintenance officers who came to check the heating system are very helpful and suggested to change to another room. Only by then, I was able to change to another room that matched the similar sized of a superior room, but without tree lined view. I must say that all the receptionists were friendly and polite but behind their friendliness, they are not really helpful at all. I had my dinner, a sea bass meal, at the restaurant - see the photo. The dinner and the service was both outstanding. The kettle in the room was not very clean; it could easily be cleaned by using small spray to remove the calcium. The gym and swimming pool are excellent. If you are not used to live in really loud room, please double check with the receptionists. It is also not worth to pay an extra 10 pounds per night to get a so called tree lined room with extreme loud noise. I also wonder the reason for the hotel to give customers rooms that the heating system are not working. It would helpful to check before they allocate room to customers. It would also helpful that the hotel ensure that the room has reasonable temperature before admitting guests, esp on a very cold winter night. Overall, this is not a very good experience. I was not able to sleep for a whole night. I paid extra in the hope of getting a better and quiet room but ended up with one of the worst room without getting any compensation.

PPengguna TetamuAmazing location that is right by the city centre. Staff were really friendly and we were made to feel super welcome all the way from arrival until we checked out. Room was clean, tidy and warm which was really nice in the colder weather. There wasn’t a huge amount of amenities but for a small hotel the amenities provided proved just enough. Overall super pleased and will definitely be returning for our next trip.

PPengguna TetamuFor the value, this was a great one night stay in a great location, about a 5/10 minute walk to the centre. The rooms was at a good standard and had a nice amount of room for two people, shower head wouldn’t stay on so had to hold the shower which was the only negative. Other than that a great stay, will definitely becoming back again.
