The picturesque setting truly enhances the overall experience. **Arrival and Service:** Unfortunately, my arrival experience was somewhat disappointing. The service upon check-in felt slow and not particularly welcoming. There was no offer of assistance with my luggage or guidance on where I could take Stanley, which left me feeling a bit lost. I expected a more hospitable reception, especially given the hotel’s reputation. **Room Quality:** On a positive note, the room was clean and well-appointed, featuring a lovely spacious bathroom that included a plush robe and complimentary toiletries such as shampoo and soap. I appreciated the mini bar, which had complimentary water, adding a nice touch to my stay. **Room Service:** One downside was the room service hours, which ended at 10 PM. I arrived at 8:15 PM and was informed of this limitation, which felt a bit early for a hotel of this caliber. It would have been nice to have more flexible dining options during my stay. **Dining:** The hotel itself is stunning, and the grounds are a joy to explore. I had breakfast at the brasserie restaurant, where the attentive staff made a significant difference. The breakfast was wonderful, with a variety of delicious options that set a positive tone for my day. **Overall Impression:** While my stay had its ups and downs, the beautiful setting and the quality of the accommodations were highlights. I hope that the service experience can be improved for future guests, as that would truly elevate the stay. I would consider returning, especially for the lovely grounds and excellent breakfast, but I would hope for a more welcoming atmosphere next time."

"The hotel is fairly nice although it is let down with the lack of aircon which I understand has been broken for some time. I was offered to move rooms from one swelteringly hot room to another only to be sandwiched in between two rooms who were obviously having a party. I was offered to move back to my original room which I finally got some sleep. A nice hotel, let down by the lack of air conditioning."

"The hotel was in a great spot to visit Keele umiversity and reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. The room was clean, a good size and very quiet. A nice touch to have bottles of water provided in the fridge too! Breakfast was cooked to order with a good choice of options every day. I would recommend this hotel to friends and definitely stay here again when visiting the area!"

"It’s Showed on your web site Historic building but behind where guest rooms are worst then Travel lodge - Guest rooms very basic - If some one go bathroom you can hear everything, Noise insulation very poor . It’s not Four star please check your description. I am glad I had to stay only one day as it’s definitely not Four star hotel ????"

"Excellent location, very close to railway station which was key for us. Great price and trip was refundable until 13.00 on the day which was very useful as Storm Goretti was due to hit. Good restaurant attached to hotel which is only available to hotel guests, great meal for reasonable price. Comfy beds (twin) so everything you need for a practical one night stay."
