This cottage, originally built as officer barracks on Sampson Air Force Station, then upon base closure sold and relocated to its current location (currently the Sampson State Park is located directly east across the lake). After descending 15 steps off the deck you can enjoy 105 feet of frontage choosing between natural-sloped shale beach or 60 linear feet of flat lawn created by a break wall. Enjoy time on the pile-driven, 100 ft trex dock with an enlarged platform for lounging at the end.The Stowaway is less than two miles north of Fox Run Vineyards, in the heart of the Seneca Lake wine country. It is located seven miles south of Geneva, within two miles of Smokin' Pete's Barbeque, four miles south of Roy’s Marina, Port’s Restaurant, Vonnie’s Boathouse. It is 28 miles north of Watkins Glen. There are 3 short term rentals within walking distance of this property owned by different owners but may be available for different groups. I’ve been the owner of this family property since 2002. This is my primary winter residence and am happy to share the summer with you! I've installed new water resistant flooring (2026) and have a new pull out couch (2025). I can assure you there is nothing better than a quiet morning on the deck over looking the sunrise. Please Note***This property is alongside the Finger Lakes railway line. This is an active rail line with trains passing by up to several times a day sounding horns during the day and night - weekends are usually not active. This line runs the length of Seneca Lake on the west side so any property along this side of the lake will be affected. There is a 7 mph speed limit for vehicles driving on Locust Grove. Two bedroom Two full bath Log Cabin built in 2005 with 100 x 300 property including private beach front and dock located on the west side of Seneca lake. This is a non Smoking and Pet free residence with Central Air. The basement and any outbuildings are not included in the rental and are for our private use only. Unplug sit back and relax on the deck overlooking Seneca lake or just go down the steps to the private beach and dock. The main bedroom is a loft bedroom with private full bath and king bed. Bedroom two has a queen bed and door access to the main full bathroom. There is a queen sleeper sofa for additional guests in the living room. Kitchen has silverware, dishes for 6 as well as pots and pans for cooking. Enjoy cooking outside on the Weber grill, LP gas included. This property is located just 7 miles south of Geneva NY and Hobart and William Smith College. Enjoy 7 local wineries within 5 miles of the property. We are just a half mile from Fox Run Vineyards and walking distance to Weavers-View Farm Barn Weddings. There is also an additional 3 season space fully enclosed with windows all around. Other items included are stove/oven, refrigerator,microwave. Roy's Marina has boat rentals just a short distance away, so you can enjoy fishing, skiing or tubing on the lake. Nothing can be tied to the dock due to destruction of the dock and watercraft. I have one smaller spare boat hoist that can handle up to 16 or 17 foot boat We have outside security surveillance for the security of our property and insurance purposes. There are NO cameras inside any part of the residence. We have two cameras, one is located off the back ( driveway Side of the house) and one is located off the basement door and covers that area.
